At Four Points Dermatology, our goal is to provide the most comprehensive, individualized, and positive Austin skin care for patients of all ages and skin types. By empowering patients through education, we will foster the general health of the individual, the family, and the community in a modern and eco-​friendly environment.

History

Established in 2009.

Four Points Dermatology is headed by Dr. Roopal Bhatt. After moving from NYC to the Four Points area in northwest Austin in 2007, she saw a need in this community and beyond for further comprehensive dermatologic care… thus began the start of Four Points Dermatology!

Dr. Bhatt brings much experience from her years in a multitude of private and academic practices, providing care for patients of all ethnicities and ages. From 2005 to 2007, Dr. Bhatt was in private practice in Manhattan and Long Island, NY, and also was a Clinical Assistant Professor for the North Shore University Hospital.

Dr. Roopal Bhatt is a board-​certified Dermatologist, Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, member of Austin Dermatologic Society, Travis County Medical Society and Texas Medical Association.

–Undergraduate degree: Harvard University, cum laude, AB in Biology, emphasis on Neurobiology, 1996

–Neurology/​Neurobiology Research at the Children’s Hospital in Boston and the Massachusetts General Hospital, 1993 – 1997

–Medical School: State University of New York, Health Science Center at Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. MD, summa cum laude, Junior AA member. 1997 – 2001

–Medical Internship: Saint Vincent’s Medical Center in Greenwich Village in Manhattan, NY from 2001 – 2002 (primary medical center during «9−11»)

–Residency in Dermatology: SUNY Downstate, Brooklyn, NY, from 2002 – 2005

Aside from being happily married with two young children, Dr. Bhatt enjoys thinking of free time, running, traveling, and re-​reading the Harry Potter series.

My husband got tested for skin cancer. He called them in the morning and was told that nurse will call him back. No call. He called again at lunch. He was told that nurse is in a meeting so she will call him back. No call. He called again and he was told that nurse was supposed to call him so let me check. then was told she will call him back. No call. I told him I will call tmrw and go to the office if needed. Awful

Dr Bhatt is a brilliant, compassionate physician who treats you like family. I came to her with an issue that worried me and she quickly reassured me, explaining the issue in an easy to understand way. Other people I’ve known who have seen Dr Bhatt are likewise very grateful for the tremendous care she provides.

I have seen Dr. Bhatt and her PA several times. They were always very attentive and listened to all my needs. One thing that I really appreciate was that they were able to see me the same day when I called for an appt. Last year when I was a month pregnant I had a horrible rash on my hand that spread to my arms, and and legs. I’m a nurse at a hospital and I have asked several doctors that I work with if they knew what it might be. I was told it might be pregnancy hormones and to take benedryl. My obgyn nurse also told me to take otc steroid. Nothing worked and I was miserable. I went into the office anxious and not knowing why I was itching everywhere. Dr. Bhatt recognized it right away and said it was from a delayed poison ivy reaction. I was working on my yard a week before I had any symptoms. She prescribed a topical steroid and that was the first time in several weeks that I finally had relief and the rash stopped spreading. Thank you everyone for taking good care of me! I really appreciate it!

Dr. Bhatt and her staff are the best there is. I really appreciate how they take the time to treat you from head to toe without going overboard. Her professionalism, her bed side manner and her love of people show from the minute you open the door to her beautiful office. I would HIGHLY recommend her.

Their customer service is ridiculous! I tried to cancel my appointment for 3 days! When I call nobody answers, I leave a message telling them I want to cancel and they call me back telling I need to call again and that THERE IS A 25 dollars Fee for the late cancelation!!! How specific do I need to be when I call and say that I am canceling it??? The doctor that saw me has no clue what this white spot on my arm is and just keeps telling me to come back next month. After all this drama to simply cancel an appointment I will look for another dermatologist.

Every aspect of the experience is outstanding from ease of making an appointment, to walking into the practice, seeing their physicians to the checking out process.
The PA’s as well as Dr. Bhatt are the most caring and knowledgeable medical providers I have found for Dermatology conditions. All staff in the office have the same sincere care and concern for the patient.
I will definitely be referring Four Points Dermatology to anyone for any dermatological needs.

Nice staff, nice Doc, got some spots that concerned me burned off. During my office visit, I was told that they would file on my insurance, then bill me for the difference. I even offered to pay co-​pay or part up front. Never heard another word, until I got a call from a collection agency, they added $ 50 to the the amount of the original bill. Just had to pick up the phone, I worked across the street. I don;t know if the claim was rejected, if a claim was made, or what? Please, next time make a call, let me know the situation, then I can take care of it, and fight with insurance company.

My son had the worst experience at this office. When they applied tape over blister beetle serum and then I had to take the tape off three hours later it ripped his skin off. We have had this same procedure performed on him three other times at other dermatologists and have never had anything like this happen. I had to pay more than they told me upfront as well. Worst exp ever and Dr. Bhatt told us you cannot have this molluscum condition for two years which is how long my son has had it. She also prescribed a Topical ointment before the procedure took place to see if it would work on his molluscum for him (he was three at the time) that was full of parabens. Horrible experience for all involved. Go somewhere else…

It has taken me almost 2 years to write this review, since I believe in what Unilocal provides, I wanted to be fair & accurate. I have had various skin cancers most of my life, my parents both fair w/​blue eyes, had them too. Grew up not informed with what damage the sun can do, so water skiing and scuba diving were passions. My skin was damaged: freckles, rosacea, and basil cell cancers, common; I also had a melanoma on my nose.
Dr. Bhatt carefully checked me over, knowing my history, but then she would remove a «tag» and book another appointment for me as I left since she would want to check it’s healing… some of these spots took 4 Liquid Nitrogen blasts before they would finally disappear. Some did not disappear.
My daughter took my grand daughter in for what we believed was a bug bite… and after repeated visits with no relief… my daughter moved on to another doctor.
Well, so have I, in fact I have been to 2 others. Each had the same routine, small blast of liquid nitrogen, come back and let’s check.
Finally having had a conversation with my Dallas dermatologist in frustration, he explained to me, with Medicare it is more profitable for these doctors to repeat procedures than to do it right the first time. Then he recommended my new doctor and she has done it RIGHT the first time.
Healthcare is causing many mishaps in the world of medicine, and Dr. Bhatt is only in business for cosmetic reasons: patients who know they will need another botox or some such treatment again, and again and again… end of story.

Dr. Bhatt and her staff are wonderful and I’m so glad I found Four Points Dermatology! Everyone here is friendly and unpretentious (unlike a lot of dermatology offices), and the office is really cute and welcoming. I’ve suffered from mild-​severe acne for years and have tried everything; creams, birth control, facials etc. I’m not sure why other people thought she pushed Accutane on them since that wasn’t my experience at all. When I met with her she told up all my treatment options, and explained the pros and cons of each without pushing one or the other. Since I told her I was tired of dealing with this and wanted to be done with it once and for all she thought I might be a good candidate for Accutane (which I’ve had great results with). I’ll be honest, it’s an annoying process going through Accutane because of the bloodwork and quizzes you have to take each month. The staff at Four Points made it a lot easier though by always answering my questions when I called and letting me know my bloodwork results as soon as they got them. Dr. Bhatt also did a great job of communicating with my GP and keeping her in the loop while I was taking the medicine. She is a very thorough doctor and I can’t recommend her enough!

I went to Four Points a while ago and felt that the experience was crappy to mediocre. I went in for mild acne and not even 5 minutes into the session with Dr. Bhatt, she was already trying to sell me Accutane. As someone who has suffered from acne my entire life, I have always been warned about Accutane and its dangerous side effects. I had expressed my concern with it and even asked her if she was in the right for bringing up Accutane to someone with just mild acne (Accutane is a potentially dangerous acne solution used for people with the worst of the worst acne). She kinda shrugged it off and said the side effects people have experienced were due to incorrect application or something along the lines of that. By that time, I had lost my faith in her and vowed never to go back. I also noticed by being on her mailing list that she’s more concerned with selling freaking Botox than helping people who really have problems with their skin.
Go here if you’re morbidly superficial, not if you have serious problems with your skin that need to be addressed.

Dr. Bhatt and her staff are friendly, warm and inviting. They always take their time with me and make sure I am happy and all of my questions are answered prior to leaving.
I typically get cosmetic work done and she is fast, painless and I have never had a bad injection. I appreciate her eye for symmetry and appearance. She is also honest and upfront on how much the services will cost before hand, which I appreciate!
I will continue to book appointments and services with Dr. Bhatt!

Dr. Bhatt and the staff at Four Points Dermatology are friendly and knowledgeable. Efficient without feeling like a herded cow, the office is clean and welcoming. Dr. Bhatt took her time and was very thorough. Her manner is very pleasant, not too clinical yet professional in every way. The nurse who treated me today was warm and attuned to my needs. Smiles all around!
I feel they offer the gamut in services; the woman ahead of me checking out purchased about $ 300 worth of skin product and other aesthetic services, while I was there for medically checking some spots… the way I was treated was the same, not like they were aware of making any less money off of me (which is how I’ve felt before at other places).
I will definitely be referring this place to anyone for any dermatological needs.

Dr. Bhatt was recommended by my GP and I am glad I visited Four Points Derm. All the staff were pleasant and efficient and the office is clean and orderly. Dr Bhatt allotted more time as I was a new patient and addressed all my ailments and gave recommendations or solutions for all. Very attentive and incredibly polite. What a great Doctor and Staff. From the time I entered the door. I was greeted by pleasant people who were glad to see me and helpful. This office staff knows how to deliver customer service… the old fashioned, caring way. Dr. Bhatt was on time… which is really important to people that also have busy lives, thorough and offering to answer any and all questions. I was in extreme pain and she offered me several options of treatment that would immediately help. I liked that she went over my history with me, making sure she had eery fact correct. I am a medical professional and I can tell you this is a TOP NOTCH OFFICE and physician. and she is MY Dermatologist from now on !

I recently moved to Austin and needed to find a new dermatologist. I have somewhat fair skin, and my sun exposure (and tanning bed use — ugh!) is starting to catch up with me, as evidenced by a multitude of dark moles with somewhat irregular borders. I’m also a big baby when it comes to shots, medical procedures, etc., so great bedside manner is critical for me, and I don’t lije dermatologist offices that seem more focused on superficial needs like Botox, etc.
I did a lot of digging around on the web, scouring reviews and reading up on great Austin-​area dermatologists. I decided to go with Four Points Dermatology given Dr. Bhatt’s impressive academic and practice credentials, the fabulous reviews on various websites, and its proximity to our home. I could not have gotten luckier with my selection.
Dr. Bhatt is wonderful. She is thorough and super pleasant. I had to have several «suspicious» spots removed, and she put me at ease. Her nursing staff also is amazing. I had a great personal chat with her about our experience raising little boys as she gave me local anesthesia — definitely made that process easier! I also loved that no one pushed cosmetic needs on me — while I did purchase some skincare, the office visit was focused on my medical needs, which is what I prefer from a dermatologist.
If you’re looking for a wonderful dermatologist and support staff, I highly recommend Dr. Bhatt and the staff at Four Points Dermatology. If your experiencing is anything like mine has been, you’ll be very pleased.
