Fit Japanese Store

A lot of good Japanese stuff here! Good selection of cool keychains and useful kitchen utilities. There were a lot of plushes, toys, and totoro items. The price tags are a little bit high on some things, but the overall pricing is good. I will be back again!

So glad to have this in Austin! The selection isn’t huge, but there are plenty of cute school supplies, beauty products, household items and cleaning stuff. Came here to buy beauty products for my bridesmaids. Found so many things that reminded me of Japan and bought way more than I intended.
Cashier was helpful in finding stuff. Prices are pretty good, too, and definitely cheaper than buying the equivalent online ($ 2-​$ 5 for most things).

Boring store. Not cheap. Customer service is really bad. The cashier that works this evening was following me around. If you are walking around and not buying anything yet, they stared to follow you to make sure you are not stealing. Creepy! Not going here again.

It’s a cute shop with some neat items but customer service not as great. If you drop something an employee comes running over to see what happened. They have things on display but are not closed tightly. My daughter picked up a mug and the lid was not on well and it fell off and landed on the ground. The employee came rushing over and said «you break it, you buy it»! First of all, there are no signs that were apparent to me that stated this anywhere. If that is their policy it should be on the door when one first walks in the store. They should also consider keeping lids on items from just falling off when samples are looked at. I think the entire situation could have been handled better. Otherwise it’s a fun store with unique items.

Loved this place! Been here a couple times, everything is kawaii. Most of the stuff is pretty cheap. Fairly priced squshies and nice stationary/​pens. Some of the beauty things are a bit more expensive. The store was MUCH bigger than expected.

I LOVE this store! Everything is so novel and cute, but also useful! I stop by here often for stationary and pens and bits of house utility items.
The service is always super nice and friendly, too!

Cute store with a good selection of Japanese products. Very similar to a Daiso in Japan, Los Angeles or Seattle, however I feel like the prices were higher. Mostly all of the small items start out at $ 3.00. The stationery items vary and can be found for less than $ 3.00 a pen or pencil. I guess I’m just used to paying 100 yen or about dollar at Daiso for some of the cheaper plastic products. I like the store for it’s selection of Japanese products, however if I was going to get household products I’d go to a dollar store.

Stopped in here after visiting FootRelax so I was obviously in a good mood.
I was the only patron in the store so that was nice. I got to look at everything and take my time. I bought so much stuff. Some useful items, some things I don’t need.
I was looking for chopsticks to eat my Cheetos with. Don’t Judge! Found some really cute ones and they have all different sizes.
Used the Unilocal discount too!

We have something cutesy in Chinatown Austin now! Located in the MT supermarket shopping area, this Japanese dollar type store has everything starting at $ 2 and up. So many organizational items for your living room, storage, letters, umbrellas, eye masks, pens and color gel pens for your adorable stationary. I seriously must contain myself before buying 200 gel pens and regretting it. They do have a no returns, exchange, etc policy.
I’ve gotten cute plates and pots and many storage items in my tiny apartment kitchen before from the Fit in Houston and they did an amazing job packaging it for me on my trip on in between cardboard and newspaper to make sure the items don’t break due to how fragile they are. Oh, the one in Houston they also yell «sumimasen!!!» when you enter, the Austin one lacks the warm welcome. :(
They do have the same photobooth purikura which is fun to use! I spent $ 30 on my items and they have so many, it’s very fun and reasonable to get my container store fix for not container store prices.

I don’t care who you are: young/​old, male/​female, asian/​not-​asian; you better watch the clock or you’ll be stuck in this store for a long long time. So many fun things down every aisle. I’ve seen crazy things here as well as things my mom has used back when I was still a kid.
Think you don’t need any of this stuff? Months ago I looked through all of Walmart trying to find a soap bar holder with holes on the bottom. No luck. I walked in here and see shelves of exactly that. This place will make you want things you never knew you wanted. Having a Fit completes this Chinatown shopping center.
Too bad they don’t allow food or drinks in here. It would be nice to grab a drink at Bambu and slowly sip it down while I wander around this store. We can’t have it all.

It was early September when we went and they still had not filled up the store fully but you could tell they were trying really hard. The staff was a bit short but it seemed like they were trying to hire more people as soon as possible.
They were brightly lit and well organized.
This place is like Daiso (if you have been there) and could compare but have a bit of a pricier tag on their items. They have Japanese and Korean toys, pens, stationary, household stuff, containers, accessories, and much more! Some of their stuff is expensive and the things that are not priced are $ 2.00 so if you don’t see a price on it then it will most likely be two dollars!
Think of a high end dollar store with better quality stuff. hehe
They are located at the back of the plaza by BAMBU. They have plenty of parking so that is a plus!

i love stopping by here after a visit at phở saigon right before we hit snow monsters! mainly bc i could spend all day in this little shop picking out the cutest things! they have everything from pens to plush dolls & bowls to chopsticks! i’m so happy to have found this cute store– their pencil cases are so cheap (most of them starting from $ 3) unbelievable! i know the gift shops at dallas h mart sells it for over priced price so this new founding was definitely a happy one! the store is pretty big too so theres always lots to see! everyone should visit at least once– you wont regret it!

This store is kinda like daiso if you’ve ever been there. Useful stuff, stationary, and toys for a cheap price. Kind of like an upscale dollar store.

This Japanese household store has a wide variety of well priced Nippon ceramic bowls and plates. Of course they carry so many cute stationary items, Gundam model figures, & really cute Plush toys, like Rilakkuma.
It’s like a 100-​Yen shop from Japan, except… its items price range at US$ 2.00 to higher priced gundam stuff, and Jap or Korean cosmetic products.
They carry those cute aprons, and dumpling mold sets, it’s hard to find good cheap mold set in local stores. It’s a must-​have item for learning Asian cooking or just making Ravioli ;-)
There is a Photobooth next to the front door, I think it costs $ 6 or 7 for cute customized photo stickers. Overall the store is clean and organized. The staff are friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back for new stuff next time I visit Austin Chinatown.
