Dr. Ernesto Carmona Jr grew up in Nuevo Laredo, Tamulipas, Mexico. He went to school at Baylor University where he majored in Biology. After undergraduate school he went to study at Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leòn Dental School in Monterrey, Mexico where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree. It was during this time that Dr. Carmona was awarded with a scholarship from the State of Tamaulipas, Mexico for Academic Excellence. This scholarship was awarded personally by the Governors of Tamaulipas during his training. Upon graduation he was accepted into the Post-​Graduate Program in Prosthodontics at the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus, San Juan, Puerto Rico. He completed his Certificate in Prosthodontics in 2009 then enrolled at Baylor College of Dentistry’s Center for Maxillofacial Prosthodontics Implant Fellowship from 2009 – 2010. Dr. Carmona established Austin Prosthodontics in January 2012 to serve the Austin community.
