Avoid. This company is one of the most poorly run businesses I have run across. Either they do not want the business, they are too busy to add more business or they lack the organizational skills to coordinate and plan their employee’s day. What’s even more surprising is that this was a subcontractor for Standard Pacific. One would think they would want to keep a large company like Standare Pacific pleased with their craftsmanship and customer service in order to continue to get easy business. On several occassions we set an appointment only for them to not show up at the scheduled time. When I would call Terry would tell me that instead of an 12:00pm appointment they would be there between 12:00−5:00 (which is not what he told me when originally scheduled.) This also happened for an 8am appointment and then when they didn’t show up at 8am I call and was told they would be there between 8−9am. These are just two examples, but there are many more issues with their communication… or lack thereof. I ended up calling Standard Pacific and they agreed with me that this has been a very poor experience and removed them from the job. Avoid.

Do not hire this company! They have ripped me off – I’ve paid them money up front to repair water damage in my house, and the work is not completed after months of delays! Lawrence has not returned my calls and emails, he is a very shady character! I wish I would have fully checked all Unilocal reviews prior to hiring him, I’m now seeing a number of other people have been ripped off as well! STEER CLEAR OF LAWRENCE RUFF AND DRY TIME UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF!!!

The night of August 3^rd 2015 our washing machine overflowed and we called Dry Time. They came out about 10 pm and cleaned up the water and put fans and heaters up. They said they would come back the next day with the paper work. We met with Brandon Stratton. He said their practice was to collect the insurance deductible up front and they would subtract that amount from their invoice. I was unsure about that, so I talked to my son, who is an ins. adjuster. He said he had never heard of that either but if i had copies of receipts and invoices, it should be okay. So i paid Brandon my deductible, $ 500.00 and signed the paper work digitally and asked him to send a copy to my email. I checked it to see if I got it and didn’t see it. Brandon said he had a new phone, so he would send it to me when he got back to the office. I never got it so I called several times and Lawrence Ruff the general manager, finally sent it to me, showing that I had paid my deductible to them. They cleaned up the mess and worked with my insurance adjuster and turned in their invoices to my insurance company. I asked him to send me a copy of the invoice he sent in. That took several phone calls too, but he did send it to me. When I received my claim check and letter explaining my claim, I noticed the insurance co. held out $ 500 deductible from my check. I called my insurance and explained the situation to them. They said they paid by invoice and that Dry Time turned in the amount for $ 2229.64, when it should have been $ 1729.64. I asked the insurance co. if I could send them the invoice he sent me which shows that he should have gotten $ 1729.64. When they got it, they said that’s not the invoice they got. I asked if they could call Lawrence and ask for reimbursement and send to me. They said they would. They were told «the checks in the mail» and they never received it. I called and was told the same thing. Then Lawrence said he would send Brandon by the house with a check. I never seen him or the check and now he won’t answer the phone for me or my insurance company. So I’m out $ 500.

We were referred to DryTime for restoring a ceiling area after a small plumbing leak that we were able to identify early, before things got too bad. DryTime came out that same day and gave us a free evaluation. The job was so small that it really wasn’t worth a full remediation, so they gave us some tips on doing it ourselves. That willingness to help us out and not fleece us for a minor job was appreciated. We will definitely call them again if we have another problem. (BTW, the only reason we aren’t giving them a full five stars is that we didn’t actually use their services.)

Dry Time has done a repair for us when a water heater leaked in one of our apartments. Initially, they were very responsive and got all of the water dried out immediately. It took them longer than expected to finish but eventually everything got done. I called Lawrence again after the Memorial Day floods to let him know that one of the units got water in it during the heavy rains. He told me that even though they were really busy that he would get someone over there to take care of it because we were a past client. No one ever showed up. I’ve called him multiple times and he keeps telling me he’ll call me back. Never heard from him.

We had water on one side of our house because of the Memorial Day storm. I contacted Dry Time and Cody was at our house by 8 o’clock the next morning. He was very professional and thoroughly examined the affected area. He described in detail what would have to be done in order for us to be able to make the necessary repairs. He gave us a turn-​key estimate. I very much appreciated his demeanor and efficiency.

DO NOT use these guys unless you want to spend months getting them to complete the work.
March 9: The insurance adjuster brought these guys in after a water leak in our attic that resulted in water pouring into our family room. They showed up and did a great job of pulling down sheet rock and insulation and «drying out» our room. I was really impressed with the job that they did. They asked me to write a review here on Unilocal… well, they may be sorry they asked.
At the suggestion that it would be easier to hire these guys to finish (by the insurance adjuster), we hired them to complete the rebuild which consisted of insulation, drywall, texturing, paint, and a new wood floor. I will end this review simply stating that it is now May 11, and I still do not have a family room. The furniture from said room is currently in my breakfast room, my game room, my spare bedroom, and the hallway rendering my entire house pretty much useless. The excuses are that they can’t get all the flooring in from Home Depot. I called HD, and they said that this is NOT true, that there is plenty available. They can’t get the paint to match. They finally showed up with matching trim paint, but it was high glass and my trim is all mat finished. That was 2 weeks ago, and they still haven’t returned with the correct version. There has literally been just a few hours of work needed to complete the entire process for weeks now, but they do not seem to care that we have been living in a hell of a house for all this time. I contacted them and told them I was ready to write a review, but that didn’t seem to inspire them either. They wanted a review. This is it! I could go on and on, but I won’t at this time.
May 26: Updated progress: Painter came and painted baseboards, but was given wrong paint for the wall so took ANOTHER sample from the wall to see if he could match it. Wood flooring was dropped off with promise of flooring guys arriving on Sat 23^rd. No one showed up or called to say when they were going to show up. Painter said he would come back today, but no word on that as of yet. Now with all the floods in the area, I have lost all hope that I can ever live in a completed house.

Brandon, Cody and Cameron were awesome. They were very knowledgable, extremely professional and exactly what we needed. We had a leak on our second floor and they came out to assess the damage, put in place some mediation and came back to follow up without charging us. We have already scheduled them to come back to look at another issue and would certainly recommend them.

Lawrence, Brandon and the crews at Dry Time have been fantastic. We’ve had two water leaks in the last 2 years (faulty drain and leaky roof). They gave us great advice about moisture and mold, came out almost immediately and started cleaning/​drying, taking photos and tearing out drywall. They are quick to get the job done, excellent communicators and just all-​around great guys. I can’t say enough about how helpful and reassuring they were during a difficult time.

I would use Dry Time again and recommend to others. They answered phone promptly and arrived with equipment in 90 minutes.
