Dennis Cudd Studios, LLC is a full service design and construction services firm. We offer building design, plans, permit services, 3D models, photo-​realistic renderings and cost estimates to our residential clients. We also specialize in hotel, new construction, renovation aging in place and disaster remediation.

We now accept credit cards for a small fee.

History

Established in 2007.

Dennis Cudd Studios, LLC was created with a focus on residential design, national hotel development and construction services. With 15 years experience, we are proud of the relationships we have built and even happier that our clients still enjoy and love the buildings we’ve built together.

DCS, LLC recently started a division that specializes in 3D models and photo realistic renderings. Our most recent projects have occurred in Austin, NYC, Kyoto and Amsterdam.

Business Owner

Dennis grew up on the high plains of Texas and found his first love at the University of Texas school of architecture in Austin. Upon graduation he lived in New York, California, Pennsylvania and Arizona where he worked on projects across the United States. In 2005, he returned to Austin and set up DCS, LLC.

I’ve worked with Dennis over the last couple of years on some real estate projects, including the sale of one of his own homes. My wife and I renovate properties for sellers all the time, but most of that is on the inside of the home.
What we needed that we had the hardest time figuring out, was how to make a «plan» on our home where we could take on one small project at a time as we had the money to complete.
Dennis laid out plans for the exterior front of our home. We have a home that was older and we wanted to renovate it in a semi-​modern fashion so that it wouldn’t look pieced together. Our biggest problem was what to do with the exterior columns, door and garage doors on the home as well as the siding. He was able to come up with a design that allows us to turn each portion of the project as we have the funds to complete them. He worked with our budget and was very reasonable. He also took the input we had and brought it to new heights. I’m very excited to see this through and now we have a game plan for each project moving forward.

We hired Dennis in 2007 to design our first custom home. We chose him due to his impressive portfolio of modern single family residences. He was very patient with us and collaborated on many floor plans and elevations until we achieved a design that we truly love. He incorporated many modern design features along with energy efficient building techniques while incorporating the home with the hilltop site and maximizing the many different views. He was very helpful after the design phase recommending contractors and interesting building materials as well as clarifying any questions from the trades. He is very knowledgeable about the building process, design and material selections that are unique to the Austin Texas area. Our house is really comfortable to live in and inspires me with its good design every time I come home. I highly recommend Dennis, he gave us a beautiful home.

We started working with Dennis updating our first home in New York back in 2003. Since then there have been a number of projects, including the final renovation of my house in Westchester that wound up selling for 20k more than asking in an all cash deal in December 2011.
When it came time to renovate our new home in the Netherlands, a 100-​year old four-​story house that hadn’t been updated in forty years, there was no question that we would ask him to help us.
Dennis is easy to work with and quick to suggest creative ideas to atypical problems (like those in the aforementioned, weird 100 year old house). His office is international, fully digitally integrated and we were pleased with the exchange of information that flowed quickly from his office to our desk. I would recommend Dennis to anyone who is looking for a talented, responsive, and affordable architect.

Dennis just finished a project for us that involved building a glass partition around our living room which allows us to use it as a den/​office. His design was excellent and very tasteful (think mid-​century executive office). He basically took our idea and improved on it and then made it a reality. I have had the pleasure of working in the space for a full week and truly am very pleased with the result. If you are looking for a responsive, creative, easy to work with architect who has no problem with ideas that might fall outside of the typical, look no further. I certainly plan on using Dennis again and would easily recommend him to a friend.

Dennis did a little side project for our house and it has been amazing. We have a weirdly shaped chimney that does not have a damper. We have looked into getting a damper, but it is extremely costly due the its custom nature.
Dennis built us a cover that slides into the fireplace and covers the chimney so that air doesn’t come in/​out and cause us to lose money on HVAC. Dennis did an amazing job and the price was excellent.
