Overpriced and food was not very good either.

The flavors are missed by a wide margin. As well as being over priced by the quality and quantity of food you are getting.
Either things are too salty or too sweet. They mask the flavors of the meat themselves and just over power the spices and herbs. I’d rather burn my tongue than eat at this place

What a treat! The name of this place threw me for a loop when I first walked up, but this turned out to be the best banh mi I’ve had yet. Yup, white girls making Asian food really can work out great.
I definitely didn’t expect to have this experience when I walked out for lunch today. I was thinking falafel, or a burger. Sure am glad I skipped both. The aroma of sizzling meat coming through the back of this truck was intoxicating, and a quick look at their menu piqued my curiosity. It’s a pretty short menu, just a few banh mi options and some rice bowls. But it all looks great. The service is really friendly too — the owners will chat you up, flatter you, and make it the most cheerful order you’ve ever placed. And when they get down to cooking, they’re 100 percent on the money. I had the bulgogi chicken banh mi, and man, what a great choice. The flavors were intense, an almost perfect mix of salt, sweet, and spice. The chicken was tender on the inside but crispy and smoky on the outside, with only a little fat on it. The meat absorbed tons of flavor from the sauce, which was nice and tangy. And the veggies (cucumber, daikon, carrot, cilantro), which are usually just an afterthought for me, were a key part of the show. All the veggies seemed fresh, and they all made the sandwich even better when they were covered in sauce. I generally hate cilantro as a rule, but here it was a natural complement to everything else. And the jalapenos, instead of being overused, were tucked in the background to add just a little extra heat from time to time. It was all served in a giant, soft baguette that made for an amazing last few bites after all the sauce and aioli had soaked in. Simply awesome food.
This was definitely a quality meal. There are some complaints that it’s overpriced compared to the amount of meat you get, but I didn’t find this problem. The sandwich is huge, and mine had a pretty healthy amount of chicken (and more than enough flavor). Plus they offer complimentary drinks. Sure, $ 10 is probably at the high end for this type of dish, but in terms of satisfaction, I could hardly have asked for more. Can’t wait to find them the next time they’re nearby.

Like others have said, overpriced for what it is. The last straw is that both times I’ve had their food, I’ve ordered a tofu dish and there have been stray pieces of chicken. I expect a food truck to be cooking everything in one or two pans, but I also expect them to actually empty the pan between orders.

Ordered a sandwich for $ 10 + tip. Waited for 30 minutes while others got their food. Finally they said ‘Oh you’re still here? oops, we gave away your sandwich. Would you like something else?’ No refund offered. If they weren’t so busy flirting with the customers maybe they could do their job right. It’s not so much the food as the lost time. Unprofessional. Never again will I give them my money.

I don’t know if this is the same business as the White Girl Asian Food truck that was at my work today, near Lakeline Mall. But seems like it is, at least from the website.
Either way, what an amazing banh mi sandwich. I got the Tofu Banh Mi, and a colleague got the Pork Banh Mi. He couldn’t stop raving about his sandwich, and I can’t stop raving about mine. It was an enormous sandwich, probably a foot long, at the very least. It was the perfect proportion of bread to tofu to cilantro to pickled daikon to dressing to scallions. The tofu was marinated perfectly, and was just soft enough! The marinate also got itself soaked in the thick baguette, but not enough to make it soggy.
Wow, just wow, what a sandwich!

When I read that the translation of Com Bun Yeu was White Girl Asian Food, I thought «That’s racist!» I gave them a try anyway. I visited this food truck on Amber Glen Blvd parked across from our office building. The poor ladies in the truck were covered in sweat since it was 97 degrees outside. It must have been 110 in the truck. I ordered the Pork Bhan Mi sandwich. The sandwich was very good! I found myself eating the pickled daikon radish strips that had fallen on the foil wrapper I used as a plate. I wish the cucumber slice was cut up smaller as it was difficult to eat the sandwich. I ended up taking it out and eating it after I finished the sandwich. For $ 10 I think including an egg roll or another side in addition to the can of La Croix would help customers feel they were getting a better value. That being said, I enjoyed my sandwich and would buy another next time if I was in the mood to splurge. The two sisters were very friendly despite the stifling heat. Their positive attitude and entrepreneurial spirit earn them an extra star in my book!

Stupidly overpriced. I agree with previous reviews in that the amount of meat in this sandwich is ridiculous. In my entire sandwich, there were a total of five TINY TINY TINY slivers of meat. You can see three of them in the attached picture.
Ordered a Pork Bun Yeu, what I got was a cucumber salad on a roll.

I also can’t help but notice that after a negative review, there are a flood of positive reviews. Either this place is unbelievably inconsistent or they have a lot of friends posting for them. Either way — not cool.

Not a great experience. The server wasn’t really paying attention to the customers. Not rude, just not super attentive or friendly. The rice was hard, the chicken fatty, and the sauce didn’t even taste that good. Would not repeat. :(

Breakfast sandwiches are so amazing! I stopped on way to work… Actually I went out of my way on the way to work to get them per another friends suggestion. Did not let me down.
Drunken noodles. Yes.

This trailer rocks… but it also rolls. As someone who is really smart and has good taste, let me assure you that you need to eat here. May I recommend the Untitled Chicken Sandwich? Thank you. It is a paragon of satisfaction.

Com Bun Yeu is not worth it. It is not worth the price and not worth the taste. I hate to be harsh, but the only reason it’s making it at all is because it’s a food truck. My first and last experience was not good and was also rather expensive for the items’ quality and lack of quantity. I stopped to eat at Com Bun Yeu because I live right by the SoLa trailers. The menu had a special of four pork and leek dumplings. I was thinking, «Yum!»
But the «dumplings» came out as four measly gyozas, which I felt they must have picked up at Trader Joe’s and just re-​heated. Mind you, the four teeny gyozas (I understand we could call them dumplings, but gyozas are gyozas) cost me $ 6!!! that price is outrageous for the quality and quantity of dumplings. Again, I could have bought a bag of 20 at Trader Joe’s and steamed them myself for $ 4 at the most.
In addition, the server convinced my boyfriend to get the Thai iced coffee (which I normally really enjoy), but the coffee was very burned and was also overpriced (I believe around $ 4). I’ve made both traditional Thai iced coffee and tea, and even though I’m by no means a Thai connoisseur, mine is better and never burned.
I feel that the other people who wrote reviews for Com Bun Yeu are either good friends of the owners or visiting Austin and thinking trailers are all awesome in general. That’s not the case, and for Com Bun Yeu to succeed, they should clean up their act by lowering their prices for sub-​quality food or put more effort in to make a trailer worthy of SoLa.

OMG I just ate the pork bahn mi and it was amazing. I saw the picture on their website and my sandwich looked exactly the same, and it was just as delicious as it looked. I will def be back to check out some of their other stuff. Awesome little trailer!

When I venture the SoLa Food Trucks, I am always tempted by Taco Baby. But last night I tried this place and I loved it! I had the Drunken Noodles and the owner even threw in some pork egg rolls that were deliciously fried and fresh. You also get a lot of food. Thanks for my dinner last night and my lunch today, Bobbi Jo!

Ordered the Pork Banh Mi and it was exceptionally good! Pork was beautifully cooked, had crisp cucumber, cilantro, carrot, daikon radish, with a aioli. A bit spicy and very satisfying. Really friendly staff.

OMG!!! I stopped by com bun yeu and DANG was it a delightful hidden gem!!! The food was AMAZING!!! I had an order of the pork spring rolls and a banh mi !! I am full and more than satisfied!!! I will be back to try the rest of the menu! Also I didn’t have to wait for an hour to get this delicious home made amazingness!!!

I liked the banh mi’s and the basil rice. To me, the pork used on the banh mi was better than the typical shredded pork. I look forward to trying something else on the menu.

Meh. It was okay, nothing special. And Korean, might be a stretch. I got the basil rice, which was not on the regular menu. It was super salty, I couldn’t finish it because it was way too much and there wasn’t really much to the dish. Rice, some scallions, mushrooms and a little basil, however it was only $ 4, so it was a good deal.
The woman working there was also really nice and friendly, which I always appreciate, but I probably won’t be going back soon. I am a vegeterian and the only other vegetarian option was the veggie bahn mi, which she said just has avocado and my guess a few more veggies and seasoning.

I just had one of the greatest sandwiches ever… the Chicken Veggie Banh MI. If there was ever a taste explosion. .this was it! The only regret is that I don’t live in Austin to have this to satisfy my craving. .the sandwich was that good! Right by all the 6^th St. Fun… highly recommend you try it. Thank me later.
