Clean Puppy Pet Grooming

No I did not mistake the place. Your place was the one… rest assured. Chained to the wall, no lights on, and dogs everywhere. Don’t pretend or try and pass your despicable treatment of dogs on not knowing where I went. Horrible care.
I you want your dog tied up to a wall scared in a dark room, this is your place. If you care about your animal, take them elsewhere.

Aside from charming my pants off every time I go in, Stephanie takes great care with my 13 year old golden. This is the second time I’ve taken her there and both times I’ve been very impressed with the quality of the work and how well they seem to treat the old lady. I would definitely recommend this place.

I really wanted to give Clean Puppy a better review. I took my dogs in for toe-​nail cuts with no problem and she said she was the only groomer. I called a few weeks later and made full grooming appointments for the following Saturday. When I arrived, I was shocked at how many dogs they had in the drying room — I counted 9 dogs. The room was dark and dreary and I had 2^nd thoughts about leaving them there. It was clear that the dogs were staying in the cages for an excessive amount of time. I should have cancelled. There was a bather who helped the groomer. The hair cuts were OK. Nothing to write home about, considering the price she charges. Two hours after I brought the dogs home, one coughed up a raw-​hide treat and they had runny stools. Too bad. I can’t risk bringing them back here again.

There’s not enough good things I can say about Stephanie and how much she cares about my dogs! I brought both of them to her the other day, she told me about «Duke» my Pekingese, and how I haven’t brushed enough and now he is a bit matted and explained that she would prefer not to brush his hair after bathing because it is very PAINFUL for him. I appreciate that because I love Duke and would not want to put him through any more pain! Thank you Stephanie for explaining that too me!
When my dogs came out, I can see the love that Stephanie has for the dogs! She is really a gem! You will not find anyone who cares more about your dog… Thank you Stephanie!

I took my dog here on Friday, 04/​10/​2015. I dropped him off at 10:30am and they claimed that it would only take a couple of hours. At 3:30pm I still had not received a call back so I decided to call them. The manager claimed that they had «called me hours ago and left a voice mail». I never received a call. Never. Not even a voice mail. I told her that I never got a call and she said that I can come and get him then so I left work. When I got to Clean Puppy, I explained again that I had never received a call and she said that happens sometimes. I let it go.
My dog, Bear was happy to leave. When I took him home, I took his collar off because he kept scratching at it. As soon as I took the collar off I noticed that his neck was TERRIBLY razor burned on both sides. The burn on the right side of his neck is the size of a GOLF BALL. I am FURIOUS.
The worst part about it is that my dog is the most calm dog ever. He does not bark or bite. He does not mind being shaved or trimmed. He does not like his feet being touched but there are no marks that I can see by his feet. How did they burn my perfectly still dog ONLY around his neck?!
UPDATE:
It is now Monday 04/​13/​2015. I called Clean Puppy this morning and spoke to the same manager. I am not sure if she is the owner or not. She claimed that she is the one who groomed my dog on Friday. I called this morning and told her about the burns and she said «I did not burn your dog but come in and let me take a look.» I am at work so I had to drive home and get my dog to take to Clean Puppy. I got to clean Puppy about 9:30am this morning with my dog. She looked at the burns and claimed that «they are not burns.» She claimed that she did not do this to my dog. She said «This looks like a allergic reaction of some kind.» I have MANY vet tech friends who claim this is NOT AN ALLERGIC REACTION. An ALLERGIC REACTION would be ALL over his body. Also, the hair is SO much shorter in the burn spots than it is on his whole body.
The manager claimed that I should change his collar perhaps or use a different shampoo. She said that she did not do this to my dog but «It does not look that bad.»
There was another groomer who came over to see Bear. She claims it was not a burn either.
I got a refund and left. I will never be going back here.

I took my dog here for the first time. They did an amazing job. Stephanie and her crew are sweet and they use quality products. I’m definitely going to recommend this to a friend and take my dog back to them.

brought my new dog to this place about a week ago… stephanie (the groomer) was really nice and provided great service. the shop was small but had a homey feel
my dog came back smelling great and with a good haircut. i was happy with the service and haircut… will definitely be returning to this shop
also the owner is very nice and has an interesting sense of humor.

My miniature schnauzer Hendrix is VERY anxious. When he was a puppy, he had a bad experience at a different groomer (he came back with a huge gash on his neck) and has been terrified ever since. I can imagine that he is extremely difficult to groom, but Stephanie has never been anything but kind to us. She does a great job with my very difficult, anxious dog. He always comes back looking great. Clean Puppy is a life saver! Thank you, Stephanie!

I took my pekingese Roxie here once and loved it! She normally comes back from the groomer scared but when I picked her up from here, she was just a happy girl! I had them do a lion cut which looked great!

After my review Stephanie reached out to me and apologized. She explained that my Bella was groomed by one of her staff members that day and she was the one that must have cut Bella.
I appreciate Stephanie’s effort to reach out and try and make this better so I am giving her business 4 stars since every other time we took Bella there we were pleased with Stephanie’s services.

We have had our pup Annie groomed at Clean Puppy at least 3 – 4 times. Annie is bathed and shaved, and is very happy after each grooming appt at Clean Puppy.
Yes, her hair is cut short, but we prefer her hair short especially during the summertime. Every time we drop Annie off she is ready within an hour and half.

Wanted to calm down before typing this review. Took my golden retriever there about two weeks ago. Stephanie was very nice the place looked clean and quiet. She asked me what cut I wanted? Told her a typical golden retriever cut with special attention to the private areas. I did call once after my dog had been there over 4 hours, she said he had allot of hair and taking longer. She called me at the end of the day Fine. I went in and a lady was before me picking up her two dogs and I remember thinking to myself she must have wanted a summer cut. Well when I saw my dog that is what it looked like; a summer cut, where the head is pretty much left alone and the rest is shaved. I don’t think it was totally shaved, but extremely short; where his head looks bigger. Main problem is is was so uneven everywhere, I was just stunned. I did not know what to say; I am sure she could tell I was not happy; but I have to tell myself it will grow back. When my husband saw it before I could say anything to him, he called it a hack job and wanted to know what went wrong? I explained that I had tried someone new that was closer to where we lived!
I don’t understand! The reviews on Unilocal are glowing and I can’t believe that she did my dog like this. He looks like a lab almost, and very very uneven. It will grow back and did not seam to ruin the coat. Something that the doggy daycare I take him to said could happen. This is the very first review I have ever done on a facility; but felt it important.

Clean & pretty dog. I’ve seen some iffy reviews on here but we have always had a good experience at Clean Puppy Pet Grooming. I guess my dog is probably one of the easier dogs to work on being she’s less than 4lbs and hairy. 4 stars in my book. A little pricey but worth it.

I have Norwegian Elkhounds and if you’ve never seen an Elkie, they are FURRY BEASTS! Happy, lovable, furry beasts but I digress.
Anyway, I’ve been using Clean puppy for several years now and they are great. Totally recommend them.

I don’t like to write reviews unless it’s super awesome, or super awful…
As that being said, I am very impressed with Clean Puppy after I try out many grooming places in this area.
1.) Stephanie is amazing. She is so sweet mannered and dogs just have a natural draw to her. She’s definitely had a way with our dog. Our dog is a very sweet dog, when he feels comfortable. When he met Stephanie, I can tell he feels calm and comfortable with her.
2.)She did an awesome job, maybe the best haircut on our maltepoo, Joe. I like the way Stephanie did on our little Joe. He is cuter than ever…
3.) The price was fair and reasonably for the great service, as what I expected.
We will bring our other dog there next time. We will definitely be back! Our dog have never looked better!

Stephanie was very pleasant over the phone. She talked to me for several minutes while I asked about her grooming experience and the facility. Aslan is not only my fur child but my service dog as well, so his mental health and well being is just as important as the rest of it!
After the groomer I trusted left the industry, I was nervous about finding yet another groomer since I’ve had some really terrible experiences before. You can drill people all you want, but the fact is you just don’t know what happens when you are not there.
Reassurred by our chat over the phone, I brought Aslan in for his shave-​down. While I understand that you can’t estimate a dog’s groom until you see it (I’m sure plenty of people understate the condition and size of their dog), I don’t like receiving a quote that’s almost $ 30 lower than what I had to pay for.
On top of that, the quality of the groom was really dissapointing.
The hair around Aslan’s face was jagged and choppy like it had been taken out in chunks (I know this is not the case, but that’s just what it looked like). The majority of his body was buzzed down like I asked, but he was full of streaky razor lines!
His ears and his mouth seemed cleaned but upon further inspection once he was home I saw that his claws had not been clipped or filed at ALL.
Stephanie assured me over the phone that she would do the groom herself, but from the sloppiness and lack of quality I’m more inclined to believe that an assistant did most (if not all) of the work.
Paying more than I expected for a sloppy groom really dissapointed me, but what killed me even more was the way Aslan was more scared and stressed out post-​groom then I have EVER seen him. That’s a lot coming from a dog that is trained to be almost bomb proof.
With all of the good reveiws on this business, maybe I just caught them on a bad day…
Even so, this dog is my child and one chance is all anyone get’s with me!

I had a similar experience to Devan. Our Dachshund Yorkie mix came out of there absolutely shaved so short we didn’t recognize her!
When I dropped our dog off I said that I thought the dog’s hair was a little long but I never asked for our dog’s hair to be cut short! Mega-​short! Like shaved! Her face shaping is a little choppy, too!
What’s really weird is that Stephanie said she was going to do the grooming the same as our dog was groomed last time but it is not at all the good job we had the first time. I don’t know if the other woman working there was responsible but I won’t be taking our dog back there again.

I can understand if the mats were close to the skin as I stated in my review. «He might have had mats really close to the skin and that’s what I told them.» However, the face frame was very jagged and he still had some hairs sticking out that were uneven in the back. I’m pretty sure this isn’t a case about misunderstanding.
I am rating how the finished product is and while I completely understand I could’ve come back and asked you to fix it, I was kind of upset that you would send a dog off in that condition to start with.

Grover, my poodle mix, was a stray and has been a handful to get him used to grooming. He hates being brushed. I took him to other groomers, and my dog-​owning family members agreed with them that I needed to brush him a little each day to get him used to it, and so that he didn’t get matted. It didn’t work. He kept hating getting brushed more and more, and hated going to the groomer. I kept taking him to different places to see if we could find a place he wasn’t miserable. I’d gotten used to the fact that when I take him to be groomed, he gets kind of bummed out the next few days, curling up in a little ball and being all sad and mournful about his shorn look, refusing to play or be pet.
I looked around online about six months ago and read some good reviews on Unilocal of Clean Puppy. It’s near my house, and the last place I was going was really far and not working out, so I figured I’d try it.
I called and made an appointment for Grover on my first preference day, because my husband could take him in the morning and I’d be able to pick him up. My husband took him and said that Grover seemed happy as a clam and that Stephanie was as nice in person as she had seemed on the phone with me. He usually is really happy when we leave him, so I wasn’t surprised. The rest test is when we pick him up!
When I came to get him, I was so pleased. Grover had the best haircut he’d ever gotten (most groomers have trouble getting him to even sit still!), and wasn’t trying to do anything he could to get away from the groomer. She has a great demeanor with him and the other dogs that were there, and that made me feel safe leaving him with her– that she’d like him and not just think he was an annoying whiny puppy.
The other best part was that she said if I was fine with shaving him, it was fine for me to just quit brushing him entirely. «If he hates it, just don’t do it. It’s easy for me to shave him.» No other place has suggested this to me. I was off the hook, and Grover is so happy. Now he’s all cuddly and never tries to get away from me anymore. We just get him shaved every few months and he’s fine. Yay! Our second visit was yesterday and, again, I got the first appointment I asked for, and Stephanie had all of our information from last time. I just told her Grover’s name and she had everything.
My other dog, who doesn’t require grooming, was abused and very skittish. She shakes just being in the car. I asked Stephanie if I could bring Cricket by when I picked up Grover to get her nails clipped, and Stephanie was fine with that. Cricket’s nail quick is black, as are her nails, so I’m always really hesitant to clip them myself because I’m scared I’ll make her bleed. I’ve seen other people do it to her, and it breaks my heart. Stephanie did it a little at a time, so that she doesn’t bleed, and was really understanding that Cricket is anxious. She even gave her a couple treats after it was done so that Cricket wouldn’t mind it next time. She charges $ 10 for Cricket’s nails.
I’m so happy with Clean Puppy and thrilled to have found a trustworthy, kind dog lover that has a local grooming business with pricing that’s on par with other dog groomers around town!

Overall, this place does a great job grooming my dog. I’ve taken her there twice so far, and both times got awesome results. The second time I went, the groomer had all of my dog’s information stored from the previous grooming session so it literally took 10 seconds to drop my dog off:
Me: «Hi there!»
Groomer: «Oh, this must be Bailey! Same cut as before?»
Me: «Yep, thanks!»
Done.
A few hours later, my phone rings, the groomer tells me Bailey is ready for pick up. Bailey was super excited to see me, was not traumatized, had her nails done, had a great haircut, and also had a cute little pink bow in her hair. Top notch hair cut.
Bailey is a Yorkiepoo, FYI.
The only negative I would say is price. It was a little bit more than my previous groomer, but Clean Puppy does such a great job, I don’t mind paying a little extra.
One debatable negative is that the dogs are kenneled in a separate room. At my previous groomers, the kennels were in the same space as everywhere else – the dogs could see everything going on. At Clean Puppy, the kennels are in their own little room. Probably not an issue for most dogs, but mine is terrified by everything. So if she hears noise and can’t see it, she barks a lot. Needless to say, when I came to pick my dog up, she was barking a lot, but I knew that going in.
