Chastity Lock and Key

I remember the first time I saw a Chastity Lock and Key van in Austin, and my initial thought was, «What fresh Texas Bible Belt hell is this?!» Then when I looked up the company and found out it’s a locksmith company, I broke out laughing. From then to now, I have come full circle. Bill came over to my house this morning to rekey some locks and put in some keypads for our doors. From the initial emails to his in person demeanor, Bill was awesome to work with. He is easygoing, he worked fast, and the bill was reasonable. We will definitely use him for all of our lock and key needs in the future.

Chose these guys based on good Unilocal reviews. Were responsive to my initial call, quoted me a price, were on time for the appointment today, and did the job quickly. Very satisfied.

Called Billysteve this morning to get our new house rekeyed. He fit us into his schedule for the same day. Spent less than an hour keying six locks and making keys. Price was more than fair and much less than I expected. Go local! Thanks, Billysteve!

I am writing this review while the owner is working on my door lock. I wanted to get this posted before I forget as I want to express my appreciation for excellent service. Owner Billysteve Korpi told me yesterday that he would be here between 10 and 10:15. He showed up right at 10:05 and got right to work. I enjoy doing business with professionals!

Wow! Awesome friendly service. I needed to rekey two locks and install one new one. Very easy to schedule and the service was very quick. It’s nice that the guy you talk to on the phone is the one who performs the service and it’s not being farmed out to other companies.
If you’re in need of a great locksmith, this is the place.

Perfect. We needed several doors re-​keyed in a rental house and the guy came right on time, was in and out and charged a more than fair price. He was even able to fix a door that we were told was «unusable» and didn’t charge extra for it. Also, he was really nice, friendly and tidy and I didn’t have any of that… ew, there’s a stranger in my house feeling, which is highly underrated. I have and will continue to recommend.

My house had been broken into and they were responsive, offered suggestions to get the most bang for my buck and worked with my schedule. I really appreciate that they even went the extra mile to match the existing hardware on my doors and they were done in record time. I would definitely recommend them!

My front door lock was giving me difficulties — the key couldn’t comfortably be inserted — so, based on Unilocal reviews, I called Chastity in the morning and received a prompt callback. I explained this wasn’t an emergency situation. Nevertheless, later that afternoon Chastity arrived to fix the lock quickly and expertly (and for a very reasonable cost). Highly recommended.

Bill was on the spot in less than fifteen minutes and proceeded to thoroughly dominate a broken lock barring entry to a house-​sitting gig. He talked me through the problem and my options, was very quick in resolving the issue, and the cost was about a third what I expected. Bonus points: Bill is a cool dude.

Billysteve could not had been more helpful, pleasant, and courteous. Billysteve showed up exactly the time that he promised. He fixed the problem right away, and our front door was functioning again quickly.

I have been suffering with a finicky lock and problematic door handle for years. Not sure why I let it go on that long. This week the lock stopped working and I locked myself out by using the lock on the handle. I came here on Unilocal to find a locksmith to fix the situation.

I bought a house that was previously rented so I wanted all new keys made. I called Billysteve on a Saturday and he came out that Tuesday. He made new set of four keys for all three doors. He was friendly, professional, quick and affordable. But what I really liked is that he told me about missing pins and springs for one of the locks. And he replaced them all with parts he had in his truck. Most folks probably wouldn’t have even shared that information with a customer, but he seemed offended that whoever had worked on the locks before had ‘been having a bad day.’ Like it reflected poorly on the profession or something. It seems like a small thing, but I like that he takes pride in his work.

On time, courteous, efficient and $ 15 cheaper than the competition! Billy shows up, changes 6 locks to match, gives me 4 keys and is gone in 15 minutes. How the hell he worked that fast, I don’t know!!! So, he charged me $ 85 for rekeying 6 locks in case you were wondering. Oh, and he called me and gave me a 30 minute notice-​who does that any more?

Chastity Lock and Key was the only one of several locksmiths I called over the weekend who returned my call. When I called him back on Monday, he was right there with me and had experience with the problem I was having (with a stuck latch). I thought it would require using a hacksaw or taking the door off the hinges, but he reassured me that he had been able to pull out the spindle in other cases and that would probably be all that was needed. (And it was!)
I called him again on Tuesday, thinking I would need to look for a new door knob and lock to replace the old one, and he said he carried the part that was broken in mine and would install that with the old door knob and lock (saving me some bucks!).
True to his word, when he came on Tuesday, he worked and pulled out the stuck spindle and broken latch and replaced it with a new spindle and the original door knob in about 10 minutes. I was very happy — great customer service, knowledgeable expertise, and reasonable price! If I ever have another problem like that, i will definitely call him (and meanwhile will refer him to my friends)!

Billysteve is amazing! Incredibly organized, thorough, and punctual. Our property management company uses Chastity for changing all of our locks. There have been numerous times when Billysteve fits us in for last minute jobs. He is absolutely the best locksmith in town!

I contacted Billysteve and he got right back to me immediately.
I didnt need service that day, so we scheduled a few days out.
He was on time, switched my locks and was out of there in under 20 minutes.
Very easy and very nice guy to work with.
If I ever need locks changed again, I am calling him.

Life can take you down unexpected paths. And there are times when change is required in order to continue down the new path.
Enter Billysteve.
I needed to get the locks on my house rekeyed. And I live in Buda. Not a whole lot of locksmiths in Buda. Not a whole lot of anything in Buda, really. (that’s what I get for living in the country, I know…)
So I emailed Chastity Lock and Key. And they emailed me back that they do, in fact, come to Buda, and when would I like to schedule the house call? Well, a couple more emails back and forth, and we finally settled on a couple weeks, with 10 key copies total, and a charge of $ 85.
Then, more unexpected things happened, and I emailed Billysteve Sunday morning and asked if he could come Monday (as in less than 24 hours later). He emailed me back, on SUNDAY, and said «yes!»
Things became a little more complicated when the deadbolt wouldn’t come off, and he wound up having to use a drill. Still, all in all, I got 5 locks total rekeyed, 10 key copies, and one deadbolt drilled for $ 90. In Buda.
I’m so very pleased with the work, and am passing his cards out to everyone I know. Use these people for your locksmithing needs. USE THEM!!!
