Celfie Nails Spa

I love Celfie! They have selfies up on the wall which is funny and the walls are glitery gold. So fun! I used to go to the old nail place that was there and I have to say– this is an improvement! The massage chairs for manicures are plentiful, pristine and look brand new. They do use plastic liners which took a second to get used to but I guess that’s supposed to be more sanitary. All staff members are friendly, helpful and polite. I love sneaking in here as often as I can! Hoping to get some fancy stuff done by the notorious «Sami» soon.

First time here. Went based off reviews on Unilocal.Easy to find and good amount of parking. Place is clean and I like background music. Came and was seated immediately even though it was Friday. Girl who did my gel pedicure was great and her massage was on point. Lady who did my manicure was nice and nails were good but massage barely 5 mins. Would still go again if I’m in town.

I usually almost always do my nails at home, but decided to treat myself to some shellac nails. I made an appointment but arrived early and was seated immediately. Emily took care of me and did an amazing job! I plan on coming back for a pedicure real soon. Thanks Célfie nail spa!

Sammy was too good not to review! I gave Sammy a picture of what I wanted and she stayed over an hour after closing to help me! She’s so meticulous about everything and she makes such good conversation!
Sammy did everything except the tips which her husband did! Everything turned out exactly how I wanted them to be it’s so obvious she loves doing this

Sami was great! I had read her reviews on Unilocal and decided to try Celfie nail salon based on her work. It was my first time, I normally go to UT nails but they’re closed on Sunday’s.
I was not disappointed. Sami was so sweet and did an excellent job on my nails based on a picture I showed her. I will definitely be back!

I really, really like this nail salon and I’m a super tough cookie when it comes to my nails. If you’re mani-​pedi obsessed like I am, then you’ll know what I mean when I say finding a great nail salon that’s affordable, friendly, and good at what they do is hard to find.
Actually, I was a little surprised by this salon because it’s located near the UT campus, but not really. Just a little further north on Red River & 32^nd street. Maybe it’s just me, but sometimes campus salons don’t meet my expectations, but Celfie nails definitely did.
They do get busy, but I’ve never needed to make an appointment. I love Jackie (sorry if I’m spelling your name wrong). He is amazing with gel manicures!
The rest of the staff are nice too & they have a lot of colors to choose from.
They also offer waxing services and of course, a glass of complimentary wine. Because you must always have wine when you’re being pampered :)

This was one of the best experiences I had at a nail salon. Sammy is an amazing nail artist and she is super kind and careful with her designs. I think you can possibly bring any type of design you want and she will do it for you!
Plus the pedicure was refreshing and the staff members were incredibly kind. I will be coming back for more!

The service of was great, and my nails look fantastic. Only thing wrong is I have a slight bump on my left thumb, but it’s hardly noticeable. Will be coming back.

I don’t Unilocal usually but I have to Unilocal for this place! They are amazing!!! Super nice and have good skills. I had gel designed mani. I love it. I brought a design idea but Sammy made it way cooler! She is a great nail artist Austin need.

5 stars for the cleanliness of the store and quality of the services.
MY FIRST TIME! — I came in for a shellac mani, French pedi and eyebrow wax but only had a limited amount of time available. They were able to accommodate me and complete all the services I needed within 30 minutes AND do a GREAT job. The lady who did my mani even took the time out to fix two of my fingers when I had bumped them under the UV light.
They have a great selection of shellac colors (over 100) and multiple TVs showing various movies/​shows WITH closed captioning. They’ve also got multiple spa packages and options. Their tools came straight from sterilization bags and their foot spas were even lined with plastic. They even had drinks available for their clients!
To be honest, it was a little pricey ($ 24 mani, $ 30 pedi — $ 25 + 5 for French, and $ 10 for eyebrows) compared to where I used to go, but I was actually impressed bc they accommodated my limited amount of time and I looked great in just 30 mins! Time is money!
If you’re looking to try someplace new, I suggest you give this place a shot.

Bad things:
–way to pricey for my taste (college student)
–the people were rude
–i got the 30 $ pedicure, which comes with a 5 minute massage, when I asked for 10 minute massage, she said it would be $ 20 more, which I personally think is ridiculous
–when i asked if she could scrub a little more of my dead skin off, she was extremely rude, and yelled at me saying, «no, you will bleed, and I don’t want blood all over my store.» She said this loud enough to have the entire spa, and all the other patrons hear.
Good things:

I had a great experience at Celfie. I’ve probably had about 5 manicures done in my entire life, so it’s not something I do often. One of my lady friends was in town so we started out day with mimosas and tacos (thank you Tamale House I love you) then went to Celfie. We both got the paraffin wax and manicure deal. I’ve never done the wax thing before. They take your hand and stick it in a bag of hot wax and squish it around a bit. It was neat to watch and felt great. I thought the value was great for what I received.

Clean shop. It’s gorgeous on the inside. The asked sat me down right away with a tech that didn’t even offer his name. He filed all the color off my nails, and then started filing down the edges. He filed, and filed, and filed so much down on my left thumb nail, that he went almost through my nail. I yanked it away in pain. Then he removed my broken, filed the hell outta that nail, attached a new tip, and cut it. Without looking to see how long my other nails are, so it’s noticeably shorter than all my other nails. I had the almond shaped, and asked to have them rounded, and they’re still almond shape.
When he started doing the fill, he did the thinnest possible layer, and I had to ask for 4 different nails to be filled all the way to the bottom, because he hadn’t even filled on that side. We get to the polishing portion, and I asked for a gray shellac, to which he said that they didn’t have, which was amazing to me because color #060 was a gray, but he could have having an off day with that too, even when I mentioned the number. Layer one one, layer two on, find a big spot from the file and files off the top layer of my pinky nail, slaps some top coat on, and keeps it moving.
The owner stops by and asks if I like them, and I say no, and explain why, to which the man said that I was wrong, and I got frustrated. All of my nail beds are sore from all the filing. The paint is uneven, and full of bubbles. They’re not painted to cover the entirety of the nail, and in other places it’s on the side of my finger.
The owner offered to fix it, and was apologetic, and offered 10% off to come in again, which is why I’m giving the 2 stars. She was very nice, but after the man said I was wrong, I was over the whole situation, and wanted to go. I can’t speak for all the other techs. But if you get the guy, with the year old puppy, because cautious.

Since moving up North, and thus further away from my favorite salon, D’Zire Nails, I figured I should find a new go-​to spot. I really only get my nails done once or twice a year, but sometimes you just want your nails and feet to look pretty, you know? (I usually paint my own nails, but nail shaping still eludes me and so does cuticle trimming. Might as well let someone do it who knows what they are doing!)
I asked for just a regular manicure and pedicure because I’m a pretty no-​frills sort of person. They have a pretty great selection of nail polish, but I brought my own. (I have a pretty serious nail polish collection and two of the colors from the Essie 2015 Spring collection were just asking to be used.)
From start to finish, I was there for less than 45 minutes, which is seriously awesome if you are in a time crunch. (Or, you know, if you have to go to work immediately afterward.) Less than an hour for both services? That’s a win in my book. I was offered something to read and something to drink while sitting — I declined both, but it appears that they have several drink options. The massage chair also didn’t make me feel like I was being taken on a wild ride. I usually don’t turn it on because they can be a little too intense for me, but this one was excellent!
The services themselves were great and very professional. I arrived a little after they opened and there was only one other person there, so I was helped immediately. Great! Someone got started on my pedicure and then, a few minutes later, someone got started on my manicure. (I didn’t catch either person’s name and I feel really badly about that!) Everything was quick, but not rushed, and very clean. They line the bowls with plastic wrap before they put water or your feet in, which I really like. All of the tools were sanitized and they didn’t use anything on other customers that they used on me.
They evened out my nail length, filed them evenly in the shape I asked for, and there were no nicks or cuts as they trimmed my cuticles. They had a very gentle touch and nothing hurt AND the guy must have had some kind of crazy skill to not tickle my feet when he was exfoliating them. I have the most ticklish feet and that part always has me squirming in my chair, but I barely even noticed this time. The polish is not too thick, which is great and allows it to dry quickly and evenly. (And I loooove the colors.) Next time, I’ll have to get some nail art because the pictures look awesome.
Both services only cost $ 45, which is very reasonable. With tip, I was out of there for a little less than $ 60 — not too bad! I’m very pleased with the quality of the service and I’ll definitely return when I’m looking for a quick way to pamper myself before work. Thanks, Celfie!

Celfie might give an excellent mani-​pedi, but make sure you have the day off because this is not a quick place.
Arrived at 12:04 for a regular manicure and had to be somewhere in the vicinity by 1:00. I thought it was strange and kind of rude when the woman who was mid-​pedicure on someone else got up and came to seat me and begin soaking my nails. She then went to finish the pedicure. When she finally got back to me, I still had plenty of time to spare. But then she got up FIVE times to seat every person who walked in the door and «get them started.»
At 12:55 she was just going to start filing but I knew I had to leave in order to make my appointment. I paid for the service even though it wasn’t even halfway finished.
Celfie is a little dark inside, but clean. Big selection of polishes, both regular and gel, and Vinylux is not an extra charge. Eight manicure stations and ten massage chairs, but not nearly enough staff to ever accommodate that many people.
If you don’t have the whole day to kill, go to Passion Nails instead. There might be a 5 minute wait, but once someone starts on you, you’ll have their undivided attention until they’re finished.

Unilocal wins again in the help-​me-​find-​a-​mani quest. Celfie is clean, quiet, and the employees are great at what they do. Let me break it down:
Clean: by far the most important thing to me when choosing a nail place. The technician doing my pedicure wore gloves, the basin was lined with plastic, and the tools came out of autoclave packs. The salon itself is well-​lit and well-​maintained. All good things.
Quiet: when I stopped in on a weekday morning, I was the only person in the salon. This worked out perfectly for me, because one girl did my shellac mani while another worked on my toes. I was in and out in under an hour! I imagine this place must get busy when school is in session, but during the summer it’s a different story.
Service: the employees were courteous, efficient, and left my nails looking excellent. The calf/​foot massage and shoulder massage that accompanied the nail treatment felt straight-​up wonderful, plus they have those lovely massaging chairs at the pedicure stations. My shellac mani and regular pedi combo was $ 60 total – a great deal, in my book.
I would absolutely come back here again. As an aside, I imagine this place would be great for parties/​bridesmaids/​groups in general as there are at least 10 or so pedi chairs and 6 – 8 mani tables.

I hate to write this because I’ve only been once. I like to try places twice typically before reviewing but in this instance, I don’t really want to go back. Our experience was definitely lackluster, perhaps I was expecting more because of all the high ratings.
At 2:30pm on a weekday we waited for 55 minutes for a standard pedicure. Then after we got in «the water», waited at least another 15 minutes for someone to glance our way. Btw, the chairs have a «buttock» massage setting that is basically some weird object ramming right up near your lady bits. It’s really really awkward to feel something suddenly start pushing up in your business. Like, take me on a date or something.
I’d intended on working while there because they boast wifi. Instead I just connected to the janky TWC wifi because i couldn’t get anyone to look at me, much less tell me the wifi password. Finally our pedicurists arrived. I have to assume mine was new as she added layer after layer of paint to my toes in an attempt to make them look even. As I sat half working and half watching with mounting alarm, Kenny G’s breathless tenor sax played a loud and tinny soundtrack. Kenny — we dug you in the 90s and I wish you’d stayed there.
After the pedis were finished, my friend and I just sat there. No… drying lights or acknowledgment that the service was over. I kind of thought maybe there was something else I was supposed to be waiting for? I finally heaved myself out of the chair, slipping dangerously with the pedicure flops on and flagged someone down to pay.
My nails, btw, never dried and are now smeared like I took a scrub brush to my toes. Those 7 layers of nail polish are not conducive to longevity. It’s affordable, they’ve got a great color selection, they did good work on cuticle and callouses but man, almost every other bit of this experience overshadowed the good parts.

I think I found my new nail salon! I am so overly excited with the shellac manicure that I received from here that I’m here to tell you all about it and give them 5 stars before I even get a pedicure.
First off, the place is super clean and a major upgrade from the previous owners. They have about 4 books of gel colors to choose from and their regular polish selection is relatively large as well. They serve white or red wine, a couple different kinds of tea and water, which are all great options.
Unfortunately, now that I’m writing this I’m realizing I didn’t get the name of the wonderful tech who did my nails! Nonetheless, she was great! Paid the most attention to detail that I’ve experienced in Austin and gave me a perfect WHITE shellac mani in only 2 coats!
She was careful with my cuticles (which I already don’t like having done) and even made sure to get the excess gel from under my nails before sending me off. I really appreciate the extra care and time she took with me and will be back to see what else Celfie has to offer!

Came here with my sister because we were Unilocaling for nail salons and we decided to give it a try. Cozy salon and friendly staff with lots of colors to choose from. We came in on a Monday so it was not too busy with about 4 techs available. The décor was unique with the celfie wall collage of random things including their own selfies lol. Instruments were packaged and sanitary and each tub came with a liner. They offer complimentary drinks. Variety of pedicures to choose from. Price is not bad. $$
I would recommend!

I’ve tried two other places in Austin that made me think I should just give up on getting my nails done in this city. Thankfully, Celfie proved me wrong. Here’s what I loved:
1) The general atmosphere is very relaxing. The music was a soft, pleasant piano track and that the TV was muted with subtitles. That said, they do have wi-​fi for the strange creatures who like to get work done while getting pedicures.
2) Sammy and Hang are absolute dolls They’re easy to talk to and perfectly enthusiastic about customer service. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, was offered a drink and a baked treat, and even got a quick neck massage after my nails! (There was a third person working there, but I didn’t get a chance to talk to him.)
3) They have tons of color choices (both gel and regular) that are all very well organized. Another plus: there’s no rush to make a decision
4) Hang did a fabulous job with my gel manicure. She fixed my nasty cuticles right up and my nails look perfect! She was very intent on making sure everything was just right – from nail shape to even color application. I also heard Sammy ask another girl if the french tip was the thickness she wanted. I love this! Why don’t all nail salons do this?! It’s so so so much better than leaving the salon feeling disappointed.
Other general points:
–I walked in around 4:30 and only waited 5 minutes, but it did stay consistently busy. Basically: an appointment can’t hurt, but if you don’t mind waiting 10 minutes, walk ins are probably fine
–Open Sundays. Score.
–There are plenty of nice pedicure chairs (8, I think?) I can’t wait to go back to try one.
–Impeccably clean
As you can tell, I’m over the moon for this place and am thrilled that they’re in my neighborhood. Do yourself a favor and check them out the next time you want to treat yourself!
