Canine Hilton

This place is very affordable compare to others Pet sitting but my only complaint is that they keep them in the kennel most of the time. Every time I pick my dog up his energy level is crazy that I have to take him to the dog park so he wont destroy my house :/​The staff is ok.

I trust these folks to care for my two canine kiddos, and that is saying a lot. I am a Veterinary technician with two rescued bully babies and they are a handful to say the least. I always leaving them knowing they are safe and cared for, and for me that doesn’t come easy. They are also close to the airport which is very convenient when leaving town for a trip.

I feel I must respond to Blake G’s ridiculous review of Canine Hilton. I have been using Canine Hilton for doggie daycare and boarding since we adopted our oldest dog, Jackson, almost 3 years ago. Canine Hilton is an extension of our family. I do not know how our family would have survived adopting sweet Jackson without Canine Hilton. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and above all, they love my dogs.
What Mr. Blake G doesn’t know is that when the kennel flooded there were staff members wading through horrific rain and water chest deep to ensure all animals were safe. They offered all animals baths, you just had to wait because the tub was busy as they were working diligently to bathe dogs before owners picked up.
My dogs hated the week that they had to stay home because Canine Hilton was closed. They returned on Monday and they were full of joy; my boxer, Penny, was literally jumping higher than me when I picked up her leash and Jackson started howling and cleared the baby gate to get to the front door.
The flood was due to a natural disaster and not something that Canine Hilton could have controlled. I am appalled at some people’s responses to the staff when all they were doing was working to keep your precious furry babies safe.

Absolutely terrible boarding kennel. The «Canine Hilton» kennels flooded and I never received a phone call from them to ensure my pets well being. I also received my dog dirtier than when I left her, even though a bath was requested if necessary. Horrible customer service, more of a Canine «Motel 6», than a «Hilton». However, even comparing it to a Motel 6 is a complement.

We’ve never boarded our dogs before but when one had ACL surgery and the other didn’t quite understand… we had to board one dog a few times. We were understandably nervous but the staff at Canine Hilton were amazing.
Our dog was a bit nervous during playtime and the staff took the time to help her feel comfortable and even moved her into the small dog pen where she had a blast.

DO NOT SEND YOUR DOGS HERE!!! If I could give them zero stars, I would. I left my one and a half year old puppy here for just over a week in March 2015 and she came home with THIRTEEN ticks (that I’ve found so far). Six of them were engorged to the size of lima beans, meaning that have been there for days. She has raised red bites all over her body.
I called the manager to speak to her, and she did not call me back. I called again and she was out. They have so far showed NO respect for me and my problem. If you like your animals even a little, DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY!!!

I had to bring my Princess Kitten to the Canine Hilton a few times while my apartment was being treated for pests.
Each time they worked with me dropping her off early on my way to work and picking her up late after work — even though both time frames were outside of their posted business hours. I had to make one appointment at the last minute, and they were very accommodating and sympathetic
Like most pets, obviously Princess would rather have stayed home, but each time I picked her up she seemed happy and content. She never came back sick or injured. I would bring her regular food with her so that she wouldn’t have any tummy issues, and they were very good about making sure that she was eating.
The receptionist suggested that I call to check up on her if I was concerned during the day — which I did. Each time I called the staff was more than happy to check on her and give me a play-​by-​play of what she was doing… which was never much — she’s a cat. But it made me feel good that they had no problem checking in on her and entertaining my codependency.
Luckily I haven’t had to deal with boarding her again in over a year — but I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again!

Update: The manager called me and apologized for my experience. She also sent me a check to pay for the dog bed. I really appreciated this communication and the fact that they cared about my experience.

I have used Canine Hilton for over four years for overnights and day care. I love them! Some of the staff have been there the whole time — they are on a first name basis with me, and more importantly, my dogs. I have a Lab/​Dane/​Big Dog mix who can be quite fearful of new situations and a border collie that herds dogs, birds, people and inanimate objects :-). They know their behaviors and how those behaviors may work/​not work with other dogs. When I pick them up they can tell me who they played with (yes, they have day care friends!) and how they reacted. They can also tell you which dogs my dogs cannot play with — did I mention I have a herder?
I’m a bit of a dog fanatic and so are many of my friends … many of them use the Hilton, too! I would always prefer that my dogs be at home and have used two in-​home pet sitters, I’ve stopped using both because I wasn’t happy with how my dogs were acting when I came home. The staff have worked with me to make good arrangements when my dogs have been through surgery or other issues. Two things stand out for me. 1. My dogs are always happy when they arrive and run to whichever staff comes to greet us. My border collie is reluctant to leave my side in the house and yet she’s happy to be there. 2. My collie was seven when I got her. She’d never been off the ranch she was raised on and suffered traumatic separation from her owner; she was a mess. Although she had played at the Hilton a number of times before her first overnight, it was very difficult for her. They kept me apprised of her status — which didn’t improve much. Together, we worked on other options for her and ultimately discovered that their «premium» run was too stimulating for her — she could never settle. We’ve changed her run and she does just fine. Because they know this, they also let me know if the kennel is full (holidays and such) because even in the more secluded run, she struggles with too many dogs around. They put her needs before my business, knowing that I’ll make other arrangements during those times.
Their staff are kind, caring and flexible. They understand dog behavior — including the fact that not all dogs should be in a kennel and not all dogs do well with each other. They have become family. Although I’ll never not worry when my dogs aren’t with me, they are the next best thing.

I have only recently started going to Canine Hilton and it has been a wonderful experience so far. My dog Maple is a goldendoodle and is still a puppy with lots of energy, I mentioned to them about her submissiveness with other dogs and they were awesome about placing her with other dogs that were submissive and playful as well.
In my experience the people at Canine Hilton have been down to earth, honest people who have been helpful at every question or concern I have had, for example Maple was having difficulty eating her food at home and they began giving her a special diet for FREE, just because they were equally worried about her. Also when I began shopping around for dog food someone was always willing to help me go over the reviews and talk about their unbiased recommendations. Also they gave Maple a bath and blow dried her hair as a complimentary amenity right before the holidays, she smelled great and looked like a million bucks :)
Maple has grown to love her time at Canine Hilton and has been making friends there, where she gets to play and exercise while I’m at work. I highly recommend this place to others and hope that you all have as wonderful an experience as I have had.

We’ve used Canine Hilton for boarding our Dog, Gordon, and Cat, Charles Barkley. We have no complaints. Both animals always come back in good health… albeit, the cat fatter (he Eats his feelings) and the dog a bit skinner (he’s not an emotional eater).
Of course, neither of them ‘like’ being boarded… they’d much rather come with (in the case of the dog) or (for the cat) have free run of a human-​less house, but for the circumstances when we need a place to board, Canine Hilton works. It’s affordable and the staff friendly. Everytime I’ve dropped my pets off or picked them up, staff have been very accomodating. I’d recommend them to anyone needing a safe, clean place to board a pet.

My dog loves this place. He’s boarded for two months to one week at a time and has always come home happy and healthy. The staff is super nice and extremely flexible.

Worst experience with dog care in Austin! I took my 2 dogs here for 4 nights and my small dog came home obviously very sick — a normally happy, cheerful, healthy dog — when I picked him up he was lethargic, his nose and paws were hot, and his upper lip and nose were so red, raw and swollen, I couldn’t believe they didn’t notice! I wish I could add a picture to this review. The dog runs are smelly and noisy and they only get to pee twice a day! Most importantly, they don’t check the dogs for wellness or behavioral changes and had no meaningful feedback when I picked them up. I paid for the «premium» service but I don’t think they got any attention at all while they were there. I’m not sure how this facility got permission to use the name «Hilton» — it’s not a quality boarding facility. I’m on my way to the vet now. Two thumbs way down. :-(

Took the dogs there for a Groupon special: 2 dogs, 3 nights and complementary baths. I know why they offer the baths. My dogs were fresh smelling and still damp when I picked them up but their bedding was so soaked by urine, I had to wash everything twice. And my dogs NEVER pee on their beds. Not one word as they put the beds in my car — had to roll them up to avoid getting the stench on the floor. Will make the trip to Temple for boarding in cottages with doggie doors. This was disgusting.

I just picked up my little guy today after 2 nights away, and I couldn’t have been happier. This was the second time ever to board him, and the first go around (not at Canine Hilton) didn’t go so well, so I was wary when dropping him off, especially since there are some less than positive reviews here.
But as soon as I got there we were both greeted with big smiles and it was a relatively painless goodbye. He stayed for 2 nights and had a bath. They offer high quality food at no extra cost. When I picked him up today 2 kennel techs came out to greet me and tell me how much they loved having Henry around and that he was welcome back any time. He was happy to come home, but he didn’t show any obvious signs of distress like he did the first time around. I would definitely recommend boarding here to anyone with a furry kid!

We trust taking our kitty here! This was also one of the few places in town that takes cats apparently according to a vet I asked. I think the price is reasonable for the service, and everyone seems friendly. Of course, kitty doesn’t «like» going there but somehow I can’t imagine kitty liking anything but us at home with kitty, and sometimes it’s just nice to get away. We do bring our own food, not because theirs is bad, but because kitties just don’t tolerate change well!

Shocked! I called to make a reservation for two dogs this morning at the Canine Hilton. I was told (rudely, I might add) «I do not have time to speak with you regarding this I am very busy I will have to call you back». Nope, you will not! If you don’t have time to take a 5 minute phone call FOR business why would I trust that you have time to care for my dogs? Absolutely Not Happening! Unbelievable…

I’ve used Canine Hilton several times. Both my dog and I love it. All of the staff here, the kennel technicians, trainer, and all office staff are great and show genuine concern for your pet.
No matter what level of boarding you choose, the pets are treated exceptionably well. Even the outdoor kennels are climate modified. They get a cooling mist on the summer days, and heating when it is cold. I normally use the outdoor kennel. My dog is always excited to return. I can barely hold her back when we get there. She always runs in to greet the staff, and goes back without hesitation.
I’ve used their obedience training, grooming, and of course, the boarding. I always feel great about the experience. I travel a few times a year. Their location is near my house and the airport. It doesn’t matter how I’m going, they are convenient for me. I can’t say enough good about Canine Hilton. Excellent service and Great Value!

Peter P. and I and our girls piled in my SUV this afternoon and headed over to Canine Hilton for some fun in the sun with our Pups and fun it was!
Double R Nothin was playing on the stage when we arrived and my Mia totally hit it off with Woodrow (a dog who is running for city council)! If Mia and Woodrow had it their way they would have already eloped by now:) It was definitely love at first sight for those 2.
Austin Pets Alive! who I volunteer and foster for was there with a Puppy Kissing and Photo Booth set up. My 2 other favorite nonprofits that I work with and donate to were also there (Love-​A-​Bull and Austin Boxer Rescue) along with about 8 other rescues who had dogs available for adoption.
There was a blow up kids Bouncy House for the 2 legged kids and the Lure Coursing looked really fun.
Taco Deli had a booth set up with all proceeds going to the rescue groups at the event! That made me love Taco Deli even more!
My Pup Mia got to meet some loose friendly chickens up close and personal on the way out — so now I am excited to get some chickens since I now know she is chicken friendly (I do love me some fresh eggs:) What a fun and educational event.

We took tonka (our 8month yorkie) here for a yorkie meetup. It’s sometimes hard to find since the driveway entrance to it is pretty small but don’t let that affect how the inside is.
The backyard so to speak had a fenced in playground for dogs and we had 15 or so yorkies running around. They had sponsored this yorkie meetup and they gave out canine plague cleaners and toys for them which was awesome.
It had rained so it took away from the whole experience but I still loved it.
