Hunter A.

Manager

Hunter knows computers. Hunter also knows Blue Whale. This bright young son of our own CEO has made his way into the Blue Whale family through a twist of unrelated fate. Hired on deck to help solve problems pertaining to today’s technology, his big smile and clever head quickly made him an obvious choice for other duties. In addition to upgrading systems and debugging others, this Armstrong tackles the customer relations tasks of sales and marketing on a daily basis.

A happy guy with an eye for the good life, Hunter’s computer crush can only be matched by his love for fast cars and motorcycles. He spends his after work hours at his own home in the company of his two housemates and their resident pup: Smigel. Luckily for Hunter, the happy life is what he wants and it’s what he’s got. Luckily for Blue Whale, they’ve got both halves of Hunter: his computer ‘know how’ and his charismatic ‘how do you do?’

From start to finish Blue Whale Moving exceeded my expectations. Making an appointment was easy and I was called promptly to confirm. The movers, Corey and Sal, were prompt, hardworking, and nice. Definitely request them! Moving suuuuucks but Blue Whale Moving made it less painful. Don’t bother researching movers any further and just make the appointment, you have packing to do!

I had a great experience with Blue Whale when I moved from North Austin to South Austin. There was a team of 3 movers, which made things go very smoothly. I tackled paperwork with the lead guy while the other two began wrapping up my furniture and filling the truck. The entire process of moving my 1 bedroom apartment took a little more than 2 hours.
The only, small downside is the pricing model. Other companies charge based on hours, so that’s what I’m used to. These guys charge by the number of items. As we all know, estimating how many boxes/​bags you’ll have is pretty difficult. So I was in the situation of deciding to be cheap by having them move less of my stuff or pay more to just be done with it. As a woman looking for convenience, I paid more.
The pricing model should not deter you from using Blue Whale. Frankly, their movers are way better than the other guys I’ve used. Just overestimate the number of boxes/​bags you think you’ll have.

I was pleased with their moving services. They were not the cheapest quote but service was professional and didn’t break anything.
They are one of those companies that sends your cell phone number to some sort of marketing outfit. I gave them my cell phone number to coordinate the moving and they did not advise that they’d be doing text marketing for years afterward. They keep sending spam texts asking me to fill out a survey and enter for chance to win a $ 100 gift card. Followed instructions to opt out but I remain on their list. Left a bad taste in my mouth that this company engages in stuff like this.
I gave them 2 stars because the moving services were satisfactory but text marketing is an annoying invasion of privacy, so I won’t recommend them.

After having a different moving company move my furniture from my previous home to a storage facility — while destroying a 61″ TV, I decided to give Blue Whale Moving a try to move my furniture from storage to my new home.
I should have gone with Blue Whale on the initial move!
The drivers were professional, if any nicks/​dings were seen prior to moving the furniture they clearly noted the damage, although they were moving my items quickly — I never got the sense they were racing against some clock to get the job done.
Also a HUGE plus was the fact that Blue Whale offered cargo insurance. Meaning I could insure only certain items rather than insuring the entire load. This is a huge savings and in my opinion well worth the cost.
Speaking of cost — Blue Whale’s moving cost per hour was 40% less than my initial mover! I can clearly see why Blue Whale Moving received Best of Austin 2015 Award for the best moving company.
The only issue I have is the moving truck that came out was beginning to show it’s age. It may be time to put that one out to pasture, but without any doubts my next move will be made by Blue Whale and I would highly recommend this company.

This was the first move ever — and I have moved 16 times by my count — that the day wasn’t a drudgery. There was a lot of laughing.
Careful, clean and timely service is what I had hoped for. Blue Whale delivered, but I ended up getting so much more.
These are thoughtful people. They were on my team. They anticipated my needs and came up with solutions when none appeared available. When a particular and rather huge bookshelf wouldn’t fit up the stairs, they offered various completely original solutions. When I was short a wardrobe box, they rigged up a couple of other fixes.
I need to put in a good word for the reservations people. PROs in every way.

I have used Blue Whale 3x over the years and have always been given excellent service. They arrive on time and they’re quick yet careful with everything.- even with a huge antique armoire. Also, the guys always ask where to put the big heavy stuff as a courtesy.

I moved on the 28th and got a check to pay for the repair by the 16th. It was a major hassle to wait on their end, when they could have sent a check 2 weeks ago, but grateful none the less that they reimbursed me something.

Great moving company! Excellent movers and customer service.
We moved to a new home today and called another moving company at first and they bailed on us last minute. Called Blue Whale and the receptionist was very thorough and the movers were great! They called to see if they could arrive early to move which was great. The movers we used names were Corey and Aaron. Very friendly guys. Recommend this company for anyone looking to move.

Blue whale moving showed up and put up with my hung over/​slightly still drunk self for a good 3 hours, not complaining even once as I had them haul boxes and furniture down 3 flights and then up 2.
They were respectful of my things; courteous and polite. At one point I had to ask them to stop calling me ma’am :). So cute!

I moved on a sultry day in November. Two smiling men showed up and did not run in horror at the 30+ boxes or the stairs or the requests to put this there… um, no, how about there?
It makes a difference. You already know it’s a hassle and a pain to move, otherwise you’d do it yourself. Good customer service is appreciated in every line of business.

Since moving to Austin I have moved about 5 times and I have never been happy with any of the movers that I have used. That was until I came across Blue Whale. They were extremely fast, didn’t damage any of my furniture and the prices were very reasonable. They were very accomodating too, after the move we had to take a large desk to a friend’s house. They politely offered to take the desk for us, it was only a few blocks away. That saved us a huge headache.
Thank you Blue Whale for making our move stress free! I’ll definitely be using you again, and I’ll be telling all my friends about you.
