ctually it is my kids who are fans. We have been here several times. And we have had birthday parties here. The kids like the pizza. But most of all they like to play blazertag! They love the multi levels much better than the Main Event. They like the way the games are set up and how they are run. The people who run this really know how to give everyone the best opportunity to have a good time. My only beef it that it is too expensive. At $ 9 for a 20 minute game it is a rare treat for my kids. Too bad the school id discount is only good one night of the week and that is a school night!

A deserving update from my review from last year. This post is after another AWESOME night of INSANE FUN at Blazer Tag’s New Year’s Lock-​In!
Man, Lock-​Ins are the BEST (& yes, so too are the bday parties, stop-​in visits, and league play)! At this Lock-​In, there were approx 40 people, 10 games offered, and the same other fun activities as mentioned in my previous post. I hope that post is still available for you to reference so you to learn ALL they offer that keeps the party rocking all night long, as well as the array of offerings during normal business hours (to save me from retyping it again)!
Once again, a great staff was hosting and a Sheriff was on watch for security. The folks who dedicate their night to work this event deserve serious kudos! And the coordinator (s) continue polishing the event: Besides the endless fun & prize giveaways, the registration process changed to assure no confusion with the required adult for kids under 13.
The Lock-​in attendees were closer in general age range this year vs. last (the bulk was 13−25yrs), and I am actually boasting I was the oldest because I faired better endurance-​wise than an 18 yr old guy (yeehaw!). But sadly for me, the group was ridden with sharp-​shooters, so my best was only 4^th place (last yr I reigned supreme most games). The group didn’t gel as much as a «family» this yr; but that’s a non-​issue because everyone is pleasant, and some arising obnoxiousness was quickly snuffed by the staff. Still, the night brings a bunch of strangers together as alliances in games in the arena and as familiar & friendly acquaintances outside in the arcade.
If you haven’t done it before, the Lock-​In is truly an experience for anyone who loves to play laser tag in the awesomest arena ever! It’s night worth remembering and repeating again and again! Or, playing simply on a regular day and/​or at a bday party will get you begging for more!
Prescription for FUN = Go to Blazer Tag, get briefed, suit up, and get Reeaadddy to RUMBLE!!!

Food is pretty pricy its kinda small but all in all kids loved it. The lazer place was actually pretty cool it just needs more space where the arcade is at.

This is the only good place for laser tag in Austin! I’ve been here around 10 times and haven’t ever had any issues other then the gun not working, but then they fixed it quickly. We even had a outing for our office here once and everyone really enjoyed it.

Blazer tag is a great opportunity to release some aggression or simply test the illusions in your head that you would have been a bad ass in a short range urban battlefield. There is a nice mix of older elementary kids and deadbeat dads competing against each other to see who can be the leader of the blazer tag pack. On top of that you get to enjoy creative nicknames or not so creative ones like Maverick. Either way you are sure to enjoy this short game at a reasonable price. And they claim to be the largest in the state or something like that.
The remainder of the facility has a decent amount of video games for you and your family to enjoy. Not a ton of games but your staple old school Galaga and new ones like Fruit Ninja on the big screen. For the kids they offer the ticket system so kids can leave with candy or some crappy gift which some how make parents feel good about dropping cash on video games.
I’ve never eaten here and probably wouldn’t, but they have snacks and sodas for those interested.
I’ve never encountered rude staff as others have written and in fact the staff all seem genuinely nice and helpful.
There is nothing fancy about this business but it is a fun time for all ages right in the heart of South Austin.

My partner and I come here often and love the arcade. $ 25 gets your 150 tokens which is the perfect amount for us for a couple hours of battles with each other. My favorites are Terminator and whatever game is right next to it, also a two player shooter. We normally don’t play for tickets because the more kiddy games are the ones that give you those.
If it’s Monday we do blazer tag, 3 stories of darkness, red lights and adrenaline. On Mondays they have a special, 2 games (20 minutes long) for $ 7 bucks. Normally games will run you around $ 9 with tax per game. It’s definitely worth the money. I came here my senior year of prom in 08′ and had a blast and now live super close so I frequent this place a ton.

I took my little girl there, they have the worst customer service. Very Rude and the guns would not work most of the time, a real waist of time and money, never again, did i say how rude all the employees are, skip!!!

My GF had her sons birthday there and the woman behind the desk was so incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful that the first impression leaves the most lasting. And it sucked! As we walked in, hands full of presents and cake and decorations, we approached the front desk, told the young lady that our party was there. She turned around picked up some ‘bat phone’ told whoever that we were there and proceeded to walk away afterwards. We asked where to go and she kept walking. Luckily we saw her Ex come out of another room and told her ‘never mind, we found it!’ As we were unloading and attempting to decorate, our ‘party host’ came in and informed us that we were not allowed to bring in any outside food or drink. Well, we had cake and Gatorade for the kids. She said the cake was fine but not the Gatorade. Really??? We have to buy your ridiculously expensive soda, that our kids shouldn’t be drinking anyway! No outside food or drink. I’m thinking cake falls under a food category. For as expensive as this place was, you’d think, feel free to bring a drink for the kids while they are having cake. But, NOOOOO! So, we made them bring in 10 pitchers of water and cups.
Now on to the fun part. 2 times the game started without the birthday boy not even being in the play area. His vest was not linked to him and he had to be reassigned a new vest both times. He missed half of both games due to their error. When approaching the staff about this, their reply was, ‘well, we run in a pretty tight schedule and have to keep that up!’ Well for crying out loud, can you make sure everybody is ready to go before starting. Or give yourself 5 extra minutes between games to ensure everybody (especially the birthday boy) is ready and geared up to play!!! Screw your schedule. We paid stupid $ to have a party there only to be treated like this! Never again. 2 stars is pushing it only because the kids that did get to play the full games had fun.
And if you do decide to do this for your kiddo, make sure everybody eats before hand. Their pizza SUCKS and is way overpriced for a frozen concoction. Lastly, the girl at the prize counter. WOW, do you need some instruction on manners when it comes to dealing with small children. They are not there for you, you idiot. The only reason you are there is for a job that you shouldn’t be doing. No patience or understanding that children are indecisive and need more than 30 seconds to spend 500 coupons. And who cares what you want. It’s not about you! It’s about the kids.
My suggestion, find people that want to work there and can work with children or expect more reviews like this.
I will not ever go back there, nor will I recommend that place to ANYONE. Not for birthdays or just pure fun n recreation. Austin has so much more to offer.
Blazer Laser Tag at best is a last resort for a rainy day when there is absolutely nothing else to do!

It’s a huge arena and a lot of fun. For that alone it deserves 5 stars… BUT it’s RIDICULOUSLY over priced. Almost $ 10 for one 15 or 20 minute game. That alone takes it down to 2 stars. The fact that they have a happy hour special brought it up to three stars. Like I said, it’s great fun but so are a lot of other things that won’t burn a hole in your pocket. I took my 2 nephews and you can’t just give them one game. I paid for three (I played once) and an hour there for all three of us was over $ 60! What a rip off.

Showed up to this place in a dress and flip flops knowing I was going to get my butt kicked by the boys at laser tag. There were only 8 of us in the arena so there weren’t teams, every man for himself! Even though I sucked and ranked in the bottom 3, I HAD SUCH A BLAST! Very necessary to express that in all caps — a sore loser actually enjoyed playing a game completely out of her element. Call of Duty skills would have been helpful in this situation, rats!
Best parts:

— koozies as a prize option, in the arcade part of Blazer Tag

— some games not dishing out tickets (trying to add a koozie to my collection here!)

Went one night for a present to my then crushes’ sons birthday. Party was elsewhere. He had two choices iPic movie or here. With minimal coaxing, we were signed up to shoot the other team. We walked into a parents versus children game. Intense. After watching these kids hit every power up and demolishing the parents I decided to coach the old people, possibly to a W. So we returned for a second game. The kids had every advantage, what did we have? Strength, and human shields. I took every power up I could get before the tower trolls could level up enough to get them. I found mouse holes below them in order to continuously keep them out of the game. Reviving. And when they started adapting, i turned the tables one last time using the leader as a human shield. His parents shot him more times than I could count, even thanked me for the good laugh. We lost miserably, but we had fun doing it.
This place has been fun every single visit.

This place is by far the pentultimate recreational experience stop for the kids of both Brian «Patreon» «@Shwood» Brushwood and Alex «@infowars» «NutShell» Jones.

I’ve played all types of laser tag games across the country and this facility and it’s equipment are the best. So if you want to pretend you’re in Star Wars strap on your gear and start zapping the other team.
They have a bunch of video games and ticket games too.
Recently they added some sort of sky walk option, but I haven’t tried it yet.

I came here to play Lazer Tag during SxSW. Little did I know that I would run into the internet’s own Brian Brushwood and Alex Jones live and in the flesh.
It appears Blazer Tag is the home of internet celebrities and if it’s good enough for them it’s good enough for me!!!

Woo! 3^rd place! Booyah!!! I mean, I am almost 30 and I definitely don’t care about how well I do in Blazer Tag. No, I definitely do care, and it’s fine. This place is just as fun as it was when I was younger, though my legs are definitely more sore than they were when I was a tween.
It costs about $ 8 per game when there isn’t a special, and I think the birthday party packages are a good deal for actual children. It’s clean, the arcade seems fun, and they have some sky walking thing that they didn’t have when I was younger — seems cool!

Blazer Tag has the biggest laser tag arena I’ve ever played in. With several floors and corners to hide in, this arena is guaranteed to give you and your friends a fun time. I’m no expert at laser tag as I always end up getting annihilated by the kids. But this doesn’t stop my excitement from attempting to shoot the laser gun at the other teams. One laser tag game equals 20 minutes of fast walking, crouching, crawling, shooting people, and using matrix-​like moves to dodge away from others. After one game, my legs, back, and shoulders were sore which may be a sign for me to get back in shape.
If you’re not up for laser tag, they also have a wide variety of familiar arcade games. You can play the games, earn tickets, and choose prizes from the prize counter.
Advice: Take advantage of their Friday/​Saturday night laser tag special: $ 6.75/game after 10:00pm. Be sure to check out their other daily discounts too!

These are some of the movies I saw as a kid at Southwood Theater, which is now Blazer Tag. It was a regular theater, then a dollar movie. It also had tiny urinals in the ladies room for little boys. And once I saw 2 ladies fighting in the lobby. Oh no, wait, that was at Lakehills, which is now a music store. That’s about all I remember about it when it was a movie theater.
Incidentally, 25 years later I can still go there and feel like a kid. At a recent birthday party I attended, they gave us the private party room with painted like Outer Space, with planets and rockets and stuff. They took silly birthday pictures of our party. We played a few rounds of laser tag and totally destroyed the other kids (or maybe they destroyed us). We also did the parade for the Birthday Boy, where we snaked around the game room conga line style chanting his name and clapping. Who cares if not a single one of us was under the age of 30? Not Blazer Laser! It wasn’t my birthday, but it was still one of the best birthdays I’ve been to in a while!
