Michael Bennett has worked on several of our interior design projects. He is our go-​to guy when it comes to any audio and visual equipment and installation needs. From hanging a TV to complicated media systems, he does it all. His staff is excellent, professional and reliable. All of our clients are extremely pleased with his work.

First, it takes a good deal to get me to write a review and give anything 5 stars. That said, These guys deserve it. From the first contact and throughout, I received a quick response time. Michael and Ethan both were very courteous, professional, and timely throughout the entire process. They both made suggestions for what I was looking to accomplish without being pushy. The quote process was swift, professional and reasonable for the work needed. Within a week of having our original job complete, we wanted to add more for another room. Everything is running smoothly, professionally installed with no clean up on my part! If you need anything related to Home Theater or Internet, look no further.

Wow! Where do I start? I have never done a Unilocal review before, but I am highly motivated to do so for this company so others can know what a jewel they are. I have a big house that required a complicated technology approach and solution. My network enterprise grade wireless system was just not working, period. I had another bunch of guys in here from an otherwise reputable firm that did an OK job, but in the end, my network still wasn’t working right. In the face of my great frustration, and based on their excellent Unilocal profile, I then called these guys. Michael responded in a very prompt and big way — even though the job was not originally his and the equipment was not purchased from a company he preferred to work with. He and Ethan spent hours here testing EVERYTHING they possibly could to get to the root cause of the problem, and they eventually found and fixed it after digging and digging ever deeper. What a luxury to now finally enjoy having the wireless speeds comparable to what I am paying for from Time-​Warner! I am doing this first Unilocal review because I believe in shouting from the rooftops and sharing when I find one of those contractors /​vendors that are truly exceptional. These are very nice guys who go above and beyond. And despite their excellence, they charge fair and very reasonable prices. I will not hesitate to use them again for any A-​V or network work I have around my place.

After dealing with some frustration with how the network was set up in my house initially, I went looking for someone who could run my LAN lines properly. I called Bennett technologies, and the next day Michael came by to give me an estimate. A few days later, his crew came in and totally exceeded my expectations!
They ran Cat 6 from the master bedroom to the game room, and I needed power in the game room closet, we agreed to move it from a nearby location into the game room closet, their techs Ethan and Santos found an unused power port in my attic directly above the game room closet, so I got to keep all the power in my game room! They kept me informed throughout, and asked me where I wanted him to cut holes in the wall, and they kept everything neat! They even cable managed, and vacuumed after all was said and done.
Highly recommended! I will use them again when I need more tech work done!

These guys just completed a job in my home this AM. Had them do a wired internet drop in my second story home. Also had them install a power source for my mounted TV. So far everything works great.

If you are looking to buy a phone system and have someone install it, program and make sure it’s the right one for you and your company, these guys are the ones to call. Owning an HVAC company I know that not everything works exactly the way you want it to after installation every time. Sometimes it’s as simple as a switch. Sometimes there is fine tuning and adjustments that need to be made to the customers satisfaction. The great businesses are quick to respond to these situations. Well, After the install we noticed we had a line drop out. I called and they walked me through how to get that line transferred and was a temporary solution until they could get out the next day. That’s top notch service. I was very happy with the level of knowledge and professionalism.

Michael came out to meet me at my home and give me the initial quote. This guy is amazing! He was on time, friendly, knowledgable, professional and had a great sense of humor. I was truly astonished. Michael got back to me very quickly with an official quote and setup a time to complete the job the following week. I mean WOW! that’s fast! I’ll be honest the quote seemed a bit higher than I thought but that’s just because the labor wasn’t separated from the parts. After looking on amazon and other sites the prices were pretty comparable because he uses top quality parts. Which i appreciate because I don’t want to pay for something to be one only to have it go bad a few years later. He was incredible fast with email and replying back to my questions.
Day of the install:
two guys show up to do the install exactly on time. Ethan was awesome too! He was very knowledgable and knew what he was doing. The house was a bit tricky to run the wires up stairs and downstairs but they took care of it. The worked extremely hard and the best part was they were as quite as possible when my daughter was taking naps and our dog running around them while they worked. Anytime they had to something like cut a new whole, they would inform me and ask my permission. That was incredible! Ethan was so cool and friendly.
The end result:
My TV’s, playstation, and office are now all wired with high quality cable. I now get 13x the speed and reliably too! My wireless was really flakey streaming Netflix, amazon, or loading games on the PS4.
I’m so glad I found these guys. I would highly recommend them. Anything I need done in the future, I will definitely being calling up these guys.
I am so grateful that the previous companies i had contacted flaked on me, otherwise I wouldn’t have had this great experience.

Can’t say enough good things about Bennett Technologies. Excellent customer service, knowledgeable, and affordable. Michael and his team helped set up our media center with universal remote and wall mount/​set up two other tvs. Highly recommend!

First, I moved into a 12 year old house which was wired for sound throughout. My own equipment was very old (about 15 yrs) except for one TV. I also had signed up for U-​Verse. Michael and his team helped me decide which pieces of equipment I needed to replace, which to keep, and were able to set up everything in good working order. They also ordered one in-​wall remote that was not working from a company they don’t normally do business with, and then came out and installed that when it came in. I have had no issues since the installation with anything. It did take a while to get the TV which sent the signal to the other TV’s in the house (3 others) to stop pixillating, but they did the job and I am very happy. I have used other companies in Austin who have not done nearly as well.

First rate communication/​handling of Elite screen and BenQ projector combo! Highly recommended!

Updating this review as the owner of the company messaged me directly two days after his reply to my initial review. Included below is my message back to his direct reply. As a note: While he stated to me that he never received a message from me, someone in his company did call me back from my message but a week later. No other way could they have my phone number. I also checked my phone records and received a 5 minute call from his main number (a cell phone number) at 1:32 in the afternoon on 6÷30÷2014. Both his review response and personal message to me said he has no records of contact with me. I also believe at this time that it was Michael that I spoke to on the phone.

Hello Michael. I do not believe I talked to you directly. I seem to remember someone named Paul? I’m sure the messaging system worked though because I did get a callback but a week later as my review said. Your company was the only one that I had called at the time so I definitely did not mistake yours for another company. The number I called was (512) 590‑0633 which is what is listed here as well. I was unable to leave a voicemail after calling several times as it said the voicemail was full and the phone could not accept messages. The person that called though was calling from a mobile phone and seemed a bit scattered as he was driving and talking at the same time. He made the appointment then never showed up or called back at all. Needless to say that said volumes about a company and it’s reliability despite the reviews here on Unilocal.Also while I thank you for your message today, it’s been almost two months since I posted it. At the very least I would have expected a once a week check of the system since you had enabled the direct messaging function. I’m also sure that Unilocal gives notifications of reviews especially bad ones. You also commented on my review then took two more days to write directly. Personally for me that doesn’t show someone who is on top of his game and concerned about his business or the way his employees are operating in the field.

I want to give a great big shout out to Michael Bennett of Bennett Technologies. We just moved to Austin. He & his knowledgeable employee were able to run a wire where neither Direct TV nor Time Warner Cable could because it was beside our fireplace, & those two had been jerking us around for 3 weeks while we had no TV at all. The TWC folks even stood us up on one occasion. Michael is obviously an expert, plus they were prompt, helpful, professional & did a great job. Thanks to them, I can now watch TV at HOME for a change! A big thank you & recommendation!

Michael and his crew are top notch, competent professionals. I just completed a very expensive commercial remodel on our new Austin HQ and the AV/​security work that Bennett did was one of the more pleasurable experiences in the whole endeavor.
When most of the contractors weren’t showing up on time and nickel and dime’ing me into bankruptcy, Michael came in at his exact quote and on time. Do yourself a favor and just call them. No joke.

I contracted Bennett Tech. to wire my house with CAT6 (outlets in multiple rooms all routed to a closet) and do adjustments to my home theater speaker wiring. Everything from the initial on site consultation, scheduling, and the professional install went great.

Bennett Technologies wall mounted my flat screen TV above my fireplace a few years ago and did a flawless job. Michael’s attention to detail obviously comes from being a total perfectionist. He even re-​tiled my fireplace surround with the tiles that had come loose during the installation.
Then I got rid of my multiple remote controls and purchased a high end «all in one» remote from them. They programmed the remote to my specifications and it’s worked perfectly, and easily, since day one. They also installed a sound bar above my tv — this was a great recommendation because with the high ceilings in my condo, the sound was just getting lost.
Recently I had Bennett Technologies make the ugly cable from my new Roku device disappear. The technician was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. Michael also arrived at my home to add the Roku device to my programmable remote control and I’m thrilled with my new set up.
They might cost a little more sometimes — but you definitely get quality products and installation that is done perfectly right the first time.

When I moved into my new home, I had Best Buy’s Geek Squad install our TV but they left the wires hanging down from the TV into the cable box and the Blu Ray, which looked terrible. I called Michael and the next day he came out to survey the job. Within a day I had an estimate for the work. Within the week, Michael sent a staff member out and two hours later, I had all the TV wires behind the wall – with zero mess left behind. Thanks, Michael, for being reliable and doing quality work!

Be careful. Several business practices I found to be aggressive and did not feel good about any of the interaction.
Sequence of events you be the judge
1. Tech sent a note saying «I took your defective remote with me It’s still under warranty. There is no charge for the replacement.
2. Guy arrives and tells my wife he is here to work on remote and starts performing unauthorized work.
3. I emerge and inquire what he is doing. He says well the time started when I left cedar park to drop off the remote and I have been here for 30 min so an hour and a half is the charge so far. No charge turned into $ 127. They guy says «hey you got your remote replaced for free you have to pay for my commute from cedar park
I disagree with the failure to set any expectation regarding charging 85 an hour for travel time to «drop off» the remote or program it for 30 min.
In my opinion there are better options. I fear for those who did not pay close attention the time and value of the services provided.

We bought a new house back in June. My wife gave me strict instructions that she did not want to see «any» wires so decided I needed a professional. I called Bennett Technologies. They were awesome! They mounted a TV in the Master as well as in the Living Room. The only equipment you can see in either room is the TV itself. Not a wire, cable or even a dvd player is visible.
If you want a superb job and a very happy wife then this is the company to use.

I have a surround sound system. I have been using an Onkyo receiver the past couple of years to watch movies on my HDTV & DVD player. I never had TV channels just DVD for movies.
This past week I had U-​verse come out & install TV. They told me they were unable to do anything more than just hook the U-​Verse up to my TV – they weren’t authorized to hook it up to my surround sound system. Coincidentally I had just purchased a wireless Blu Ray player so now I have 2 devices that I needed routed through my receiver so that I could hear it on surround sound. I also needed to figure out how to operate the various functions that came with the wireless Blu Ray player like Netflix, Pandora, ect. Rather than mess with it myself or ask friends to do it I decided that I wanted a professional company to come hook these 2 devices up. I was warned by the U-​Verse guy that there are issues with compatibility with U-​Verse TV and HDMI cables working in harmony with the various receivers and TV’s out there. So when I called Bennett Technologies I told the owner Micheal about that. I explained that all I cared about was having the TV sound coming through my surround sound so they would probably just need to skip the HDMI stuff and just hook it up for me with an audio cord to the receiver. Michael called bullshit and said no such issues existed with U-​Verse. He claimed to work with U-​Verse all the time and it would be fine to hook things up via HDMI cable to my surround sound.
Michael the owner sent out a different Michael to do the work. He was an older gentleman. The rate is $ 85 an hour. One hour was planned to do this simple task of hooking up a Blu Ray player & U-​verse box to the surround sound receiver:
–Michael was 30 minutes late to my house. It had been raining but it wasn’t rush hour. He just didn’t budget appropriate time.
–I told him too about how U-​Verse had warned me about HDMI issues with receivers. I told him it may just be easier to use an audio cable to hook up the U-​Verse sound to the receiver. He said it should be fine that U-​Verse didn’t know what they were talking about.
–I already had the Blu Ray player plugged in & ready to go. All Michael had to do was plug the HDMI into the receiver & then connect the U-​Verse box into the receiver. This should have only taken a matter of a few minutes. For some reason this took him over 45 minutes to execute. He was very slow.
–When he finally got up off the floor to check things out we had sound from the surround sound system but no picture on the TV. Michael kept bumbling around messing with the remote & various inputs trying to figure out why no picture. THIS TOOK OVER 15 MINUTES. Finally he just guessed that the HDMI cable must be bad. When he went to remove it he discovered it wasn’t fully plugged in and that he must have dislodged it when he went to stand up earlier. Doh.
–You could already hear from the sound coming out of the surround sound speakers that the U-​Verse TV was messed up. Once Michael figured out that the plug was loose and he corrected it the picture did show up but was blinking in and out just like the sound. I told him «See, U-​Verse said there may be an issue». But Michael insisted on trying to «fix» it by messing AGAIN with input channels and cables which, of course, did nothing. Finally he called the owner who told him to call Onkyo. This of course took more time.
Onkyo tech support immediately confirmed that there was a compatibility issue with U-​Verse TV and HDMI. This wasn’t going to work after all. WHICH IS WHAT I TOLD BENNETT TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE START. It really makes me angry that it took so much time for all this to go down only to realize what I had been saying the entire time. Michael the technician ended up hooking up the U-​Verse TV the way I originally suggested which was to use an audio cable for the receiver to get the TV to play via surround sound.
I didn’t even bother at this point to have the technician show me all the various features of the Blu Ray player because he had already been at my house for 2 HOURS. Just to hook up a U-​Verse box & Blu Ray player to a receiver! Even though this is one of the reasons why I hired a professional I had ZERO faith in Michael. It might take him another hour at $ 85 just to show me how to do this. He already had issues seeing the screen on the receiver.
I told him I was only going to pay for one hour. He argued for more. I went to pay & found out they don’t take credit cards on site. Nor do they have a way to give you a copy of the receipt. He would have to email it all later. How does a high tech company like this not have a way to pay with a card on site & give a copy of the receipt?
Update: TV sound not working at all now no matter what I do. I am hiring a different company to help fix. I could have done it just as easy myself with less stress and for free. I’m sorry I called them as I feel this company is not competent.

Not too long ago my flooring company had a customer with quite a few electronics in their home they needed moved before we could install their new carpet. We called Bennett Technologies and Michael was very polite, prompt and easy to schedule their technician. It was a small job but when a company like this takes care of the small jobs, I know it will be easy to work with them on larger jobs.
Michael and his crew are trustworthy and dependable. We wouldn’t use anyone else.
