I previously used another chiropractor who almost literally broke me so that I was in a lot of pain and could barely walk for days afterward. One magical day, my doctor was out of town and had another sub for him. For a small person, she had no trouble adjusting me and I really felt great. The problem was I couldn’t drop my «WWF-​style» doc to see her, so I called it quits.
I’ve been seeing Dr Bryson off and on for a few years now. He is NOT a «WWF-​style» bone cracker and he tends to check and adjust your whole body, unless you specifically ask him not to. Different than other chiropractors, he also may spend time on hard pressure points to help the muscles release for a better adjustment. My neck is always a hard thing for me to relax, so I find conversations with him about local or world events to be another necessary tool.
There’s a great family atmosphere in the office that I feel part of and well cared for there. If I have a particular issue, I tell Dr Bryson and he listens. If I’m really in pain, his office makes an effort to squeeze me in. If I get confused about why he’s manipulating a different part of me than I’m used to, I ask him about it. He’s also great with suggestions for ongoing self-​rehab (stretching) at home and work. (My job has me sitting in front of a computer or in meetings a lot.)
If you’re not satisfied with your service, learn to use your words in the doctor’s office and not passive-​aggressively (or aggressively) only on Unilocal.Seriously!

Dr. Bryson and his staff (his wife) is an awesome team. I felt like I was at home, from the minute I walked in, which is not very usual, especially in Austin. I had been recommend back to chiropractor by my regular doctor, and wanted to try another doctor. He came highly recommended, so I just had to see for myself.
First the receptionist had me fill out the normal forms, then I was invited to visit in back with Dr. Bryson. I have to say me being 6 foot 2 & over 200 pounds — has its own issues, especially with cracking my back from head to toe. Dr. Bryson is by far the best «back cracking healer», in Austin, who focused on my mobility and pain at the same time (5 stars!)
Dr. Bryson is not only working on my back, but educating me on how to keep it in alignment. Dr. Bryson is a very nice person, who loved to chat (which I thought was great) about what he was doing, as he was doing them. (what a concept, right ?)
Today was my second visit and my back feels better than it has in years.

Dr. B is great with his hands. Even if I forget to tell him about all my problems, he is very thorough and seems to find those hidden issues. He is always good about warning me and preparing me for each adjustment, which is good because I am a chicken. He is very personable and always makes me feel comfortable. I always feel better when I leave his office. I highly recommend him.

I signed up for Unilocal specifically so that I could leave a review for this chiropractor.
It was my first visit ever to a chiropractor, I went in just because I have regular back pain and aches, just needed an adjustment to help my back not feel quite so stiff (I work in an office and sit in a desk chair all day).
What he did was a simple twist to crack my lower back, honestly I’m able to do the same thing in a chair, that’s not what I was needing, and also violently twisted my neck to the side, without warning, so I was not ready for it and my muscles were not relaxed.
I went back for a «follow-​up» visit the next week, had another half-​assed crack and the same neck-​jerking. (I did not mention anything about my neck, by the way)
During my visits we would not have conversations, what happened was a one-​sided blabbing of his religious/​political views, which I do not agree with at all, but I had to listen to him talk about his conservative ideals which I thought was extremely unprofessional.
A week later I had EXTREME back pain as well as the INABILITY TO HOLD MY HEAD UP at work, my neck was sore and spasming, I had to MISS WORK and GO TO A DOCTOR, who prescribed me muscle relaxers. The only way I was able to sleep or go back to work.
Needless to say, when they called me to try to reschedule an appointment, I did not answer my phone, nor will I ever go back to Dr. Bryson.
DO NOT visit this sorry excuse for a doctor. You’ve been warned.

It saddens me to post this; however, the quality of care that I feel I am receiving from Dr. Bryson has declined over my last few visits. I started going to him about a year ago and thought he was the greatest! I loved the way he would spend time massaging out the kinks in my neck before he cracked it. He used to take his time and really give me a thorough adjustment, which was why I loved him so much.
About 8 months ago, I changed jobs and obtained insurance that did not have Dr. Bryson in my network. My insurance wouldn’t cover a dime of my treatment so I was now a 100% out-​of-​pocket customer. Dr. Bryson was awesome and worked out a deal for me so that I could continue to see him and pay slightly less than his actual cost.
That was fantastic until I received a nasty call from Jill, one of their front desk staff. She called me while I was at work and basically accused me of trying to rip their office off. Um… hello? I’ve yet to hear of a place that someone goes to for services and dictates to the owner on how much they are going to pay. Obviously, I wouldn’t have been able to leave paying less unless there was some type of arrangement made. I told her to please speak to the doctor concerning this arrangement and further told her that I was confused as to why she was even calling me on this in the first place. She kept asking me over and over why I only paid $ 50.00 when they charge $ 65.00 for adjustments. I thought the logical thing for her to have done was to discuss this matter with the doctor himself, instead of rudely calling me and accusing me of something I didn’t do. It took all the patience in me to not tell her to go screw herself. I have been back to see Dr. Bryson sparsely since then, partly because of the out-​of-​pocket costs but mostly because of her.
The last two times I have been back, Dr. Bryson has spent minimal time with me. My last visit, which was about 3 months overdue, left my utterly confused. He didn’t adjust anything, even though I complained of headaches for the last week. I am aware that every appointment doesn’t mean I am going to be cracked to death; however, I find it extremely odd that I haven’t seen him in months and he didn’t have to adjust anything.
When it came time to pay, apparently Dr. Bryson «forgot» about our payment arrangement (even though it is written on the file) and Jill happily charged me $ 65.00. That would’ve been fine with me had he actually done something to warrant it. I wish I had saved my money and gone elsewhere.
When I was signing my charge slip for my uneventful adjustment, Jill asked if I wanted to schedule something in the future.
Uh…no.
She asked if I wanted to be placed on the call-​list for a few weeks out.
Uh​.no.
In fact, I was so pissed I Googled chiropractors in the parking lot on my iPhone before I left. I won’t be going back here. I have better things to spend $ 65.00 on than nothing at all.

Dr. Bryson is 6 feet of back-​cracking healer. I first began seeing him halfway through my pregnancy with my eldest son in 2008, and was having severe pains in my middle back and rib cage from you know, a person living there. Even though I was gargantuan, he managed to rearrange my limbs in ways that allowed for sufficient and effective chiro adjustment, and I left feeling like an almost-​normal person. I went to him right away during my second pregnancy, and am now a firm believer that seeing a good chiro really does improve the quality of your life.
We are moving soon and I am really trying to convince Dr. Bryson that the Caribbean is where he needs to relocate; it is going to be difficult to find anyone to come close to his expertise and genuine care for his patients! His office staff is always friendly and helpful and always reminds you of your appointment the day before (which is helpful because I can be a flibberty jibbet).
p. s., his masseur, Paul, is genius. Do yourself a favor (and take advantage of your massage coverage) and get a massage with him. You will walk out glowing, aligned, and zen as they come.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Bryson for about two years, and cannot be more pleased. Most chiropractors will give you a quick «snap, crackle, pop» and send you out the door. Dr. Bryson listens to any issues you may have, and then explains what may be the cause in easy-​to-​understand language. He also utililzes deep-​tissue pressure to warm the muscles up before doing any cracking. I feel that his treatments are highly effective, as well. Additionally, he’s nice to talk to and shares interesting life stories with you. And, no pressure to return 3 times a week like other doctors do. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Bryson not only knows what he is doing, but he is very honest and won’t have you come to see him more than you need to (like other chiropractors have done to me).

My previous review was scant on the relevant and useful information, so I’m updating this review, you know, so you can make an informed decision when searching for a chiropractor.
So, recently, I was thinking about what actually makes Dr. Bryson so great: Is it his charm? His wit? His humor? His dashing good looks (pft!)?
Nah. Even though, 3 out of the 4 are true. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a pleasant looking guy, but hello, he’s married and has 3 kids.
It’s his crack. I’m addicted. I’ve never been so well-​aligned in my life.
And then, there’s the conversation.
So, this is an embarassing story, but I’ll share it. One, to show you how stupid I am, but two, to show you how patient and indulgent Dr. Bryson can be.
I thought.
I had…
a…
tumor…
or perhaps, some kind of growth… cancer maybe…
I thought I was dying!
I’ve never really been known for theatrics, so I really took my delusions seriously. Even though, Dr. Bryson was off that day, he met me at his office (kids in tow) to see what the heck I was talking about. Sure enough, Dr. Bryson assured me (quite emphatically), I was not dying and did not have a tumor.
But, he still humored me, and sent me to get my head scanned.
Of course, he was right. I was not dying (yet), nor did I have any kind of growth engulfing my (apparently diminishing) brain.
So, all in all, this experience taught me a few important lessons:
1. Overreacting is bad.
2. You should go to your chiropractor for a cancer diagnosis.
3. Dr. Bryson really cares about his patients.
