Austin Community College – Pinnacle Campus

The staff here aren’t as engaged as the Highland Campus, but this isn’t a terrible place to go. I can’t tell if this place used to be a hospital or hotel. It’s got a very old feel and there’s a lot of cool woodwork around the elevators. Going up! I mainly go here for testing. I take most of my classes online. While I’d prefer to go to the highland campus for everything, Pinnacle is closer. The testing center staff is always nice and helpful.
I’d skip out on advising here. I’ve visited with three of them and only got decent info out of one. There’s a crazy lady with squirrels and minions in her office. If you get her, just leave. You’re wasting your time unless you need some good comedy material.

This campus is great because not many people go here (unless your near this side of town). its all one building and so at any given time you have a wonderful view (the building all glass). they are starting to make improvements and have a café on level 9. The tutoring on level 6 and they are most helpful! I will be going full time to this campus next semester and I know it will be great.
Oh yeah the Cashier’s office lady isn’t that nice and she never smiles. so don’t take it personal when you ask her a question!

This is my favorite out of all of the ACC campuses (that I’ve been to). The facility is miraculously easy to navigate, as its just one building. No guessing which building the library is in, what floor its in, where its by, blah blah blah. You just look at the little guide thats in the elevator, and it will tell you exactly where to go. Personally, I’ve never had a problem with parking, but I usually arrive before 8AM. Now that they’ve extended the parking lot however, I’m not sure that parking should ever be an issue, it will just be a long walk to the building. The learning lab at this campus is by FAR the best. It is easy to find, and the tutors in there are GENIUSES! Also, as you go up the view gets better and better, and you can easily see downtown from the 4^th floor or higher. The only thing that keeps me from giving Pinnacle Campus 5 stars is the lack of an outside area… Sure, there are a few benches in front of the building, but all of the other campuses have the lush green grasses and fountains and whatnot. were pretty much just an office building surrounded by a sea of parking lot.

What is the deal with the parking here? It’s way too crowded with people parked on the sides for the road and double parked behind cars. If the police weren’t there guarding the fire lanes, people would be parking there too! What a waste of manpower. And there is gridlock at the traffic light getting in and out. Is it that hard to add an extra lot somewhere? Or build a parking garage? I was excited my wife would be taking a class here because it’s so close to us. But dropping off and picking up has turned into my worst nightmare.
EDIT: I just discovered this shuttle service on the ACC blog site —
Shuttles leave the old Albertson’s parking lot/​Oak Hill Plaza at the «Y,» and Pinnacle Campus, every 20 minutes during peak hours Monday-​Thurrsday. Shuttle service will no longer run to and from the Tony Burger Center to allow for faster service.
This might be the way to go. Not crazy about picking up my wife around the «Y» at lunch time though! And I will increase the review to two stars for ACC actually trying SOMETHING.
Not only does the parking suck, but the speed bumps are too tall! The undercarriage of my car slams down on them unless I go extra slow over them. My car is only a hair lower than stock height as well.
Shout out to whoever has the new red R32 in the parking lot. Niiiiiiice!
