Very nice, great location and there is food places all around. I would recommend this spot to anyone who likes a good skatepark because this is most definitely a unique one. Remember to bring some water and sunscreen though, not a lot of shade or water to drink from. Bathroom isn’t exactly germ free. But that’s to be expected from a public park, right?

Overall a great park. Gnarly bowl section and good plaza feel to the whole place. A lot of bikes there which get in the way of skaters, but everyone is very welcoming compared to most locals at parks. Not a ton of parking more how many people are there either. It is a great park for intermediate to expert levels. Beginners may get cut on runs if they don’t step up though. The bottom line is that everyone is able to have fun there.

I’ve been lucky enough to take my meagre skills to dozens of skate parks around the country so I can fairly say Austin’s is in the top five. Creative street course, fun extended mini ramp, and nearly perfect bowls.

This is where I learned to skate or should I say learning. Lots of different walks of life. Restrooms can be a little grungy sometimes but what do you expect with kids rotating threw there constantly. Lots of parents hang out to support their kids and even some push with them like the good olé days. This is my favorite skatepark in Austin. Close to acc, if you have a break in your class schedule. Also close to food/cool store and easy access to downtown. Pretty flowy pool though I have never rode it and their street set ups are fun with a combination of many different lines :) Can’t Beat it!

I just recently got back into skating and trying to learn some new tricks, and this place is GREAT. Here’s some current info: * there is some limited shade available in the middle of the park, on the west end * the city is reworking some drainage at the moment, but it’s in a small area to it’s not terribly disruptive to skating or bike riding * there is dedicated parking for folks using the park alongside the north edge of the park, but I’ve seen a lot of ACC kids park there when heading into class during the weekday mornings(once the ACC lot fills up, which is pretty darn quick, apparently) * there is a rest room and a water fountain I grew up here in the ATX, and this park is a great example of why I haven’t bothered to move anywhere else!!!

Free, public facility like this is what makes Austin so awesome. Since the park just opened, everything was new & clean. The park has a bowl and various ramps, catering to experienced and novice alike. Parks like this tends to draw more skateboards than BMX. This park was no different — I think 80% were skaters. But I didn’t see any hostility between skaters and bikers. And no one was territorial and acted as if they own the park. Even when little kids(under 5) got on to ride around, no one got mad at them or threw any attitude. Overall, everyone was pretty cool and were there just to have fun. If you go, few suggestions. 1) Wear at least a helmet. I didn’t see any crashes, but as safety precaution, protect your head — especially if you have a little one. 2) Bring water — lots of it. There is no water fountain at the park(but a 7 – 11 just few blocks down). 3) Go early, especially if you have kids. Afternoon tends to draw out bigger kids/adults so it could be more dangerous if you have smaller kids. If you go early, it’s still open enough that your kids can enjoy the park without worrying about getting in other people’s ways. 4) Be careful if you’re allergic to bee stings. Lots of empty soda cups draw bees. Even though the cleaning crew emptied out trash cans, I saw a lot of bees buzzing around. Couple of negatives — there is no shade so in the summer, it’ll be HOT, especially when the sun bounces off the white concrete. Parking could be a challenge — we went on a Sunday so we were able to park at the lot(but requires a permit from Austin Rec Center on weekdays).

This is the best thing to come to Austin since Deep Eddy! An awesome skateboarding /bike park. Great spot to watch kids. We’re going today and I’ll update my review once we’ve gone. It opens in an hour. Time to dust off the skateboard and get my kid all helmeted up and get out there. Hopefully some skateboard clubs will start meeting there and we can get some real activity going on. Happy Summer!
