Anne Lyon, DDS

Dr. Lyon is a wonderful and smart person and has a great staff. However, she does not do well with crowns. She put on a new crown for me without first removing some temporary root canal packing, which led to all kinds of problems and misery for me. And I didn’t get so much as «I’m sorry» or even «oops». And I now also need to have two poorly-​fitted crowns replaced (at great expense).
So if you aren’t looking for crowns, Dr. Lyon is really good.

havent gone yet — but i will say this… the staff is amazing on the phone. so nice and sweet and very helpful. they were so kind when i got sick and wasnt able to make my monday morning appt. (i went to urgent care instead). I can tell they went above and beyond. — thanks!

Dr Lyon is a great dentist. I had not had a dentist in Austin fit some time (due to a bad experience with another dentist). A friend recommended Dr Lyon years back and I’ve been a patient ever since. The staff seems to push extras — but it’s not too annoying. The only other oddity is that, as a guy, I definitely seem to be in the patient minority…

The tooth fairy has been our family dentist for years. Sure, they sometimes hard sell ya on the oral cancer screening and the night guards and such, but it doesn’t bother me enough to find another dentist. I am a «white knuckle» patient and have been known to ask for the gas during something as routine as a cleaning. An aside, I once read that dentists have the highest suicide rates in the country. I guess it makes sense when you consider how many people absolutely detest going to the dentist.
I’m not gonna say that I still don’t dread the dental appointments, but with Dr. Lyon, I dread them much less. My hygenists have always been extraordinarily patient (hee hee– punny) with me and my sissy mouth and my tendency to get a little fainty feeling at the sight of dental implements. I don’t get the lectures about flossing or smoking, but I think that’s because they’ve decided I’m too old to be taught new tricks.
The staff is always friendly and upbeat and my hubby thinks Dr. Lyon is hot. I’d give em five stars, but it IS the dentist.

Dr. Anne Lyons is actually a really great dentist; however her staff is a little overbearing. There was a younger nurse who was quick to tell me I was a slut with oral cancer because I have a sex life. She was giving me a huge guilt trip telling me that if I didn’t spend $ 80 and swish some fluid in my mouth for a minute my tongue would be cut out because I drink occasional smoke and have sex. I have to say I left there terrified and feeling dirty.
That same tech also called over another dentist who was with a patient to examine my mouth, needless to say the other dentist was short with me because she was already busy, not her fault. Bottom line Dr. Anne Lyons is kickass, but some of the staff is a lot nuts. I haven’t gone back and probably won’t I’m looking for a new dentist.
