We have been an Austin tree service since 1983. Over the years we have added additional services as follows. We specialize in exceptional tree care, landscaping, outdoor services including fences, decks, and more. We have the experience, and skill needed to perform our services at the highest level of excellence, safety, and professionalism. The owner (George) also served many years as an Austin Fire Fighter, and EMT which adds a high level of skills to every job. We can remove very difficult trees, and limbs using our unique methods that many competitors simply will not do. The primary difference is our personal service from start to finish. You will deal with the same person overseeing your home or business project from the first call, the estimate, scheduling, the actual supervision of the work, and right up until you are fully satisfied, and pay the agreed amount at completion of the work. You never get lost in the shuffle dealing with an ever changing amount of people. History

Established in 1983.

We started out in North central Austin on Nelray Bl in 1983. Martin Franklin began the vision of American Treeworks & Landscapes as a way to supplement income while serving as an Austin Paramedic, and attending school part time. In 1985 Martins sister, and brother-​in-​law (Cindy & George Santaw) moved to Austin from west Texas. George began working with Martin learning the tree service business while preparing to test for the Austin Fire Dept. George did become an Austin Fire Fighter after much testing, and effort. Cindy helped with the growing number of calls for service as well as actual hands on work also. It wasn’t long before American Treeworks was among the top Austin Tree services of the 1980s, 90s and that continues to present. We were among the original members of the Central Texas Arborist Association meeting weekly at Zilker park. Martin continued his education, and eventually became a physician, and George & Cindy continue to provide personal service today as always.

Meet the Business Owner

George S.

Business Owner

George, and his wife Cindy moved to Austin in 1985 from west Texas. They began working with Cindy’s brother Martin here at American Treeworks. George studied tested, and was accepted into the Austin Fire Dept in 1988. The family worked together to operate the business around a very demanding schedule. Martin an Austin Paramedic, George a Fire Fighter, husband, and father working closely with his wife Cindy, and the couple raising 3 children. Cindy also worked part time in child care, and later at the Austin Heart Hospital.

George & Cindy now also have 10 grandchildren, and Martin is a physician with an adult son, and 3 daughters. George has an extreme level of training, and experience as a professional Arborist, Tree climber, professional Fire Fighter, and medical training as an EMT. This level of experience provides a winning combination on every job. We are truly a family operated business serving the Austin Area for over 32 years with professional services.
