American Cleaners

I have these Ikea chairs with covers and have two cats. I took them to this cleaner and the manager pointed out to me, in a very rude way that it’s not suppose to be dried cleaned. I know I should have checked but there is no need to be rude about it. Definitely not going back there.

I’ve read the negative reviews, but my experience has been excellent. Quick in and out, clothes looked great, and a great price.

Loyal for a couple of years. Not great service, no air conditioning. But good hours and sometimes the ladies working at the front checkout area are nice.
But about once a quarter they ruin a shirt or pants with a bleach splotch. I would point it out, but the damage has been done. I also don’t feel like reviewing every item upon pickup.

BEWARE of this place. DO NOT TRUST THEM with your clothing or loyalty. I had been a customer for years. It’s true that one of the girls at the front desk can be nice. But WHEN (just a matter of time) they ruin your belongings they will refuse to cover for the correct price of the item, they will cut you off, refuse to give you the supervisor’s name by telling you that they’ll call you. This went on for 6 months and over 10 calls of mine as they gave me run around. The supervisors and Kevin and Kunal, so you know. When I confronted them with the facts, they still refused to repay me properly and in fact lied about me having signed a release document, falsely claimed they had a video — which I requested to see knowing this claim was false, and rudely just dismissed me curtly by saying «I’ll see you in court!» Evidently it is how they are used to brushing us off.

I have been using this place for a year with no issue. Each time I go in there I spend $ 75 to $ 100. Recently I took a pair of pants back because their machine jacked up my zipper. I took the bag off and put the pants on to wear them to work. I struggled and struggled to get the zipper up. I thought if I got it all the way up it might fix it. Nope! It refused to go back down. I thought I would never get those pants off.
I took them in and told them what happened. They took them from me and sent them to alteration. When i picked them up, they charged me almost $ 16 to repair what they had broken. When I asked again, out of total surprise, why I was being charged, the girl said «they were already broke.» Yeah… they were broke when I brought them in… because they were broke by you the last time they were in your posession!
No worries. I will go where the customer is important.

I was a little worried after reading the reviews but because of convenience I thought I’d try it out. So far so good. The young lady at the counter was very helpful. I will try to update about my clothes’ outcome. The prices seemed very reasonable.

Do not come to this place. They always tell me I can get my clothes after 3 and they never finish it on time. I always end up waiting 20 – 30 minutes. It is also fairly expensive for the service they give.

Warning– do not trust this business with your clothing! American Cleaners has an ever revolving staff of customer service skill lacking individuals, and the manager and owner themselves are equally unreliable, unsympathetic, and uncommunicative. They lost my husband’s new, favorite $ 100 dress shirt, and after giving us the run– around for over 5 weeks, I finally have a verbal promise to send me a check for $ 20. «Sorry, that’s our policy. We only give you 10x the value of the cleaning service you paid for, regardless of the value of the garment». Still holding my breath to see if I actually get the check…

The reviews about the customer service here are correct. The woman who handles the customers is most definitely resentful that her place of business has no air conditioning, that’s for sure. You would be pretty bitchy, too, if you spent an hour in the morning drawing in your eyebrows only to have them melt down your eyelids in the Texas heat.
This location has definitely earned my trust. I’ve sent off a faux leather jacket to be patched (from a cigarette burn), a Burberry trench coat to be cleaned, buttons to be replaced, and numerous pairs of pants to be hemmed. I’ve never had an item damaged and, in fact, I am quite happy with the job they do.
They are reasonable priced and usually have a quick turn around. The only unfortunate thing is that they do not clean leather goods on site (they send it out), so you have to prepay for this service and wait a couple of weeks. Otherwise, I have no complaints.

Worst customer service, confirmed today. A few days ago, I took my clothes to be dry-​cleaned and a couple of comforters to be laundered. The woman there was not very friendly, but I didn’t think much of it. Today when I came to pick up my clothes, she threatened to call the police on me for being rude, all the while preventing me from leaving because she forgot that she had my debit card in her hand. Then she accused me of trying to take my clothes without paying, only because out of anger it took her three times to process my debit card correctly. Bad service is kind of an understatement.
Stay away if don’t want to have 9−1−1 called on you for suggesting that they have a written pricing policy somewhere in their business, especially if they are going to surprise you by charging $ 55.00 for the washing/​drying of two comforters.

I dropped off two shirts and explicitly asked for them to be dry-​cleaned. American Cleaners ended up laundering them instead, and they came back in an inferior condition. I spoke with the manager, Kevin, and he said that the shirts looked fine to him, and when I explained that the shirts no longer had the new-​look-​sheen because they had been laundered instead of dry-​cleaned, he didn’t offer to compensate me for the loss.
Not only do they ignore customers’ requests for shirts to be dry-​cleaned *only*, but they also didn’t even try to reimburse me for the $ 300 worth of shirts that they damaged.
I highly recommend *against* using American Cleaners.

I have used American Cleaners for along time, at least 5 years. Never had any problems. Great service, Kevin has always been very helpful.

I’ve used the American Cleaners on Oltorf several times now. I don’t have much prior experience with dry cleaners, but the woman behind the desk has been nice and polite, they have a ~24 hr. turnaround and the price seems good ($ 12 for two dress shirts, dress pants and a tie). Everything is ready when promised, well cleaned and not damaged.

I won’t say I’ve had the best service ever at American Cleaners, but they never treated me like they treated Larry M. (Wow, dude. Were you wearing a t-​shirt that said «I hate dry cleaners?»)
I like American because they’re close to home, relatively inexpensive, and fast (roughly 24 hour turnaround on most things).
I normally just have button-​down shirts laundered there and they’ve always had them ready and well-​cleaned when they said they would. I haven’t noticed any damage to clothing but I haven’t brought them anything particularly sensitive, either.

ME: Could I get these shirts dry cleaned by tomorrow afternoon?
AMERCAIN CLEANERS: (sigh) What’s your number?
ME: It’s 512 —
AMERICAN CLEANERS (rushing me, pissed): Yeah-​yeah
I give her my number. She SLAPS the ticket into my hand.
ME: Thanks.
AMERICAN CLEANERS: (no answer)
The Pick Up
ME: Could you get these for me…
AMERICAN CLEANERS (looking at ticket): IF they’re ready…
She hangs my clothes next to the cash register. Takes my money.
ME: Thanks. Much appreciated.
AMERICAN CLEANERS: (no answer)
