I started shooting film when I was fifteen and later went on to get my BFA in Studio Art Photography.

I have been doing freelance photography since 2005, while also teaching and traveling, and launched the business in 2012. I live and work in Austin and am available throughout the hill country.

Amanda Winkles is an artist and photographer living in Austin, Texas. Born to a railroad engineer and a racecar driver, her love for art and photography come from a love of exploring the world around her. Amanda started shooting film when she was fifteen and later received her BFA from Texas State University. She loves creating photographs that show the intrinsic beauty in people, products, and ideas.

I highly recommend Amanda. She did my son Senior portraits. It was very professional, she it made fun and the photos came out great. She let us include my son’s best friend {his dog Blitz} in some of his photos.

We hired Amanda to take our family photos. My husband & I, our 3 kids (14, 12 & 6) and my mom. The photos are beautiful! Besides her artistic ability, Amanda was awesome to work with. When I got worried about the weather forecast a couple of days before the shoot, she was able to suggest a beautiful location where we could take both indoor & outdoor photos. I loved that she came prepared with suggestions for photos we might want to take, but was also totally open to trying whatever we wanted. The same thing went for «poses». This was the most relaxing photo session we have ever had because we didn’t have to try to make our 6 year old conform to the shots the photographer wanted. Definitely recommend!

Beautiful professional work! I used Amanda Winkles services to photography my art work. I am an oil painter who needed photos taken of my paintings to post on my website as well as to use for promotional materials such as business cards, postcards, and brochures. She not only made my paintings look incredibly vibrant, she was able to meet my budget and time constraints. I will absolutely use her again in the future.
