History
Established in 1989.
The Sheabeen Irish Pub opened in 1989 and is now the oldest Irish Pub in the metro area. The Sheabeen name comes from a «Shebeen», an illegal Pub in Ireland. The parking lot was the start of what has become the Colorado Irish Festival — initiated by the original owner Tony McAleavey in the early 1990’s.
The Pub is proud to be the home Pub of the Michael Collins Pipe Band — on of the leading pipe bands in the metro area. The band’s numerous awards are on display in their trophy case on the back wall.
The Pub provides live music on the weekends. Many local and renowned musicians, songwriters and performers have performed at the Pub over the years including: Walt Conley, Michael Thompson, Jim Salestrom, Seamus Kennedy, Steve Pierce, Dick Frost, Ernie Martinez and various others.
The Pub is the «Place to Be» on St. Patricks Day and hosts one of the best celebrations in the area with Irish Music and Dancing all day.
