WT Shorty’s Sports Grill

As far as my service went, I’d like to give my server one star, or less. I just moved to the area, I’m not sure if it’s permanent yet or just temporarily, either way I’m just looking to find my neighborhood bar. I was in on Sunday for the Broncos game, which was a great atmosphere and great priced drinks, for that id gladly give 4 – 5 stars. However, my experience was lacking.
I started inside and moved to the outside patio once I realized there were TVs, sound and smoking friendly. My server was Steph (so it said on my receipt, unfortunately, I wasn’t talked to enough to ever catch it from her herself, she was the only blonde I saw working). The reason I had such a bad experience was that I didn’t feel like I mattered at all. I understand it was busy, and maybe it’s because I was by myself and not racking up a huge tab, but still, I barely got acknowledged by her, a few times she walked right past me with an empty glass right in front of me and didn’t stop. I stopped her almost every time I wanted a drink, and twice I had to go inside and track her down, which each of those times she was just standing around. I even asked for a menu from her twice and never relieved it. I was blatantly being ignored. A few times other servers would clear my empty glass and ask if I was ok. Oddly enough they seemed to care more than my own server. She seemed so friendly to everyone she seemed to know. My tab and tip would have been bigger if I was served like the paying customer I am. I have a great feeling that this place is a fun place! So I will be returning to try my luck again, but I will be sure to not have her serve me.

Absolutely love this place! Great place to come watch football games. There are pool tables, air hockey, pinball machine, etc. The service is amazing too. All of the bartenders and waitress’ are very prompt and friendly. This just became my new hang out spot.

The menu changes often and the food is very good. The service is great and so is the staff. You have to try real hard to have a bad time here.

My chicken strips were not fully cooked, the onion rings were a cluster of onion and batter stuck together, the frys were undercooked. Apparently the owners dont understand the industry and the cooks have no from scratch experience, I can only imagine what the unsanitary kitchen looks like. Nasty place

I had a fun time here. I came for the karaōke on Wednesdays. The check-​in offer for a free shot intrigued me too. The shot was a big gulp of spiked «bug juice» fruit punch. Oh well. People were fun and inclusive. Best part: most of the people doing karaōke could really sing! And everyone was having a good time. The Karaōke MC did a great job and her jokes and good music made it more like a high school reunion-​type scene.
The (more like a waitress than a) bartender waitress checked up on me often. Someone came up to me after I sang and gave me better feedback than some of my bosses do during a performance review! It was that kind of fun, chatty vibe that makes we want to go back next time I’m in town.

Great service, trivia, touch screen, no glitz, just a great bar. Our waitress was on it and thats coming from an ex bartender. If i lived here, i would be a return customer.

Excellent locals bar with great atmosphere and fun drinks and food. You are welcomed when you walk in and the bartenders and waitstaff are great. Great daily food specials and happy hour.

Great service from the minute we walked in. Greeted, told sit anywhere. Filled our beers out of our pitcher for us. The Quesadilla was tasty, but could have used peppers and onions. Kim was amazing, perfect fun time.

Without a doubt my «Go-​to» Bar… the drinks are always cold, the staff is always happy to see me (and not just because I’m «Dead Sexy» (in my fat bastard voice), it’s never a beatdown on my wallet and there are plenty of specials going on every night of the week! A great place to meet friends for happy hour or just to get out of the house to catch a game or hear people butcher songs at karaōke… what evere the case may be, it well worth stopping in!

Good customer service nice set up, best wings I’ve tasted in awhile I’ll deffenitly be back when I come to Denver. 1 $taco Tuesday .75 $ wings on Monday

We absolutely love this neighborhood bar and grill. The service is always spectacular. I said spectacular. Lots of TV’s for watching games, great daily food and drink specials, and did I mention the service is spectacular? Been there many times, and never had a bad experience. Love the chicken quesadilla, the BLT, and the onion rings. Just feels like you want a neighborhood joint to feel. See you there.

Ok so the owners and managers are allowed to bring their dogs to this bar to be on the patio and they even provide water for their own dogs. But a 13 year old schnauzer with cancer and blind has to actually stay in a hot car. What pricks wow. I mean next time I see their dogs here I am taking a pic and sending it to the health inspector. Service dogs only!!! Be consistent or I am contacting the attorney general.

Noticing there are not a lot of recent reviews on here. Place is clearly under new management since the last time I was there a couple years ago — I used to come in regularly with a hockey team sponsored by Shorty’s which played at Big Bear Ice Arena, a couple miles away.
Tonight six of us went over after our hockey game and one idiot was finishing off his beer as he got out of his car. As we walked in the door we were denied entry because «that’s a big liability issue for us.» Okay, fine. I can appreciate that. And the idiot said «you’re right, my bad, I’ll leave, none of the rest of these guys did anything wrong.» Manager (?) said «no, I need all of you to leave.» What is this, kindergarten? Six of us looking for food and a couple beers after a hockey game around midnight on a Tuesday and you’re gonna deny all of us because of one idiot? Management is obviously more interested in having pissing matches than inviting paying customers.
I can accommodate that; never going back there again. Too bad, place used to be fun.

We just moved across the street and wanted to check this place out. We sat down and a server came to greet us right away with a smile. We ordered two drinks and they came pretty fast along with our food. We ordered two byob burgers and Sierra amazed us by remembering what we ordered without writing it down.

Love this place! All around great time between the owners, staff, games and drink specials. Their food is really good and the kitchen is open late. Tons of tv’s so it’s the place to be for any sporting event!

Haven’t been here in about two years which was mainly b/​c the scene and service had not been great, and used to stop in fairly often many years before that when it was the Old Hole with various teams or friends that lived in the area.
It’s a little bit cleaned up since then but still feels a lot like the same old hole dive bar. The place was pretty busy and our server was nice but seemed like maybe they hadn’t staffed up enough for the NCAA game that night. There is an impressive amount of TVs here now so that you have lots of good seating options, which they have changed up a little, so I think catching sports games here more regularly might not be so bad.
Cheese sticks were massive & the sandwiches were good, and $ 8 pitchers went nicely. But… when you move on to the main event of bar food, it was a bit of a let down. The Wings. The size of the wings were good & they had a 75c special which was great but the flavors fell a flat.
The Habanero Gold was the best flavor we tried, but with that and the other sauces we tried, there wasn’t much sauce on the wings as if there was something missing to it to get it to stick to the chicken. Also, it looked like our wings had sat under the heat lamp a good bit before being brought out to us, which you would think would have helped make the sauce stick to the chicken a bit more but it didn’t. Maybe they didn’t actually toss the wings in the sauce before putting them in the basket & just poured the sauce on top?
The Jerk Dry rub was not good at all and tasted like straight pepper. We ended up rubbing it in the sauce in the basket that had slid off the other wings. Definitely need to go back to the drawing board on that one.
Overall, service was friendly enough that I’d be willing to give it another shot for hanging out for drinks.

Even though they don’t have a fudge brownie to wash my delicious burger down with I still love this place. I’m really pushing for that fudge brownie…

Awesome neighborhood bar. Just moved here and still finding my way around. This place will become one of my go to spots. Walked in on a Wednesday eve after work, ready for a burger. This place delivered with a cold beer and a super smile. The bar tender is super cute, funny and on point! Go for her… or the beer… or the burger. Fresh meat, not prefabed or frozen, good ol’ greasy fries and a half order of fried mushrooms that would choke a horse. GO!

It’s a well-​worn neighborhood sports bar… but with really good staff.
However the food sucks. I’m not sure you can order anything that isn’t deep fried from the deep freezer. Except frozen pizza.
I really wanted wings and got a basket of breaded, deep fried chicken-​like scabs. They weren’t sauced, or tender, or resembling chicken. And they came with a side of greasy, burnt fries. Who sends that out?
I do give credit to the barkeep who actually asked about the food and apologized/​credited my tab. It wasn’t her fault but she took the horns.
I’d be happy to go back for drinks/​pool/​sports. Bu never again to eat.

Can’t beat the great specials & entertainment here! The staff is friendly & amazing and greet you by name when entering giving it a «Cheers» vibe and shows they appreciate their clientele! Plus with the endless supply of HD Flatscreen TV’s you can catch every game
For today I stopped in for their 60 cents wing special and they were so good it was like a lap dance for my taste buds! I like my hot wings how I like my women: saucy & hot! For the rest of the week there’s 75 cent Taco Tuesday, $ 5 Burger Basket & Karaōke Wednesday, Trivia Thursday at 8pm to drop some knowledge & enjoy $ 11 Large 2 topping pizzas, Friday Free Buffet 5−7pm and Rock & Roll Bingo at 9pm
Also there’s 3 pool tables, jukebox, and arcade games for your choosing, so stop in to Shorty’s & tell ‘em Jake sent you!
