History

Established in 1978.

Paul L. Buddy and Tom Zakosek began Buddy & Zakosek in 1953 at 1020 Mason Avenue in Aurora, Illinois. Service and repair work in residential housing was the initial focus of the business. As the company’s work ethic and reputation became evident, the number of customers increased to include the tract housing, commercial and industrial industries.

In February 1974, Paul L. and his son Paul F. started Paul L. Buddy Plumbing and Heating. They moved their shop to 1041 Oliver Avenue in Aurora. In March 1977, Paul L. suddenly passed away. Paul F. took over operations and management of the business. The company continued to do service and industrial work and added government projects and schools to its repertoire.

In 1977, Paul moved the business to its current location at 195 West Ashland in Aurora. During the 1990s, Paul’s sons joined the business doing service and office work. Recently, with the addition of Paul’s grandson to the company, it’s become a four-generation family business.
