Horan & McConaty Funeral Service-Cremation

Losing a loved one is not an easy process but every person I came into contact with at Horan & McConaty did everything they could to make some of the tougher parts as straightforward as possible.
From our in-​person meetings to go over logistics, to countless emails for more menial things, they were so responsive, supportive and patient. I’ve never been actively involved in proceedings after a death and they were there to answer all questions my family had and guide us through it all.
The visitation they arranged at their Colorado Blvd. chapel was beautiful and we did not have to worry about one flower arrangement, picture board, slideshow, etc. It was such a relief.
I could’ve chose to not write this review as to not draw attention to my recent loss, but that would be a disservice to the amazing people behind Horan & McConaty. If you find yourself in need of funeral services, I would highly recommend.

Seemingly it is antithetical to say Woohoo! As good as it gets about a funeral home, but they truly deserve 5 stars.
I’m not trying to be effusive in my praise but I have little choice based on my family’s experience with this firm. For over 20 years my family has done business with Horan & McConaty. During this time we have recommended them to many other grieving families. Without exception, our referrals have always been treated superbly. Since, we’ve had such good experiences with Horan & McConaty, selecting a funeral home is not something I give any thought to anymore. As such, I started to take their great service for granted. That is until I attended a service, at another funeral home, where there was little to no service given. It was a total fiasco — not enough chairs, & no staff to help. Then it dawned on me how none of this would happen @ Horan & McConaty. The difference was vivid & tangible. A funeral is not an event, it is a process. So much work happens behind the scenes, that the customer never sees, to make a service go smooth. I now more fully appreciate service, and I do not take it for granted.
Horan & McConaty has been in this business, in Denver, for 5 generations. That speaks for itself. Rarer still is the fact that Horan & McConaty has a sterling reputation throughout those 5 generations. I can’t recommend Horan & McConaty enough, or any more highly.
*Note, I’m not trying to spam since this is the same review I posted for the Horan & Mc @ Colo Blvd. However, I’ve used their services here in Aurora, Grant street, Wadsworth and Arvada & have never been let down. Hence, I felt I should post my review here too when I saw the other unflattering review.

I have been to two funerals here they were very nice and professional. They made it a very peaceful place.

See my review on Google as well. I’ve been using Horan for many years and may ceremonies as I’ve been in the Denver area since 1978. They really made my Mother’s service in May 2014 a horrible experience due to one simple lack of ownership and follow up from the office manager. Simple explanation: they failed to test the DVD we provided with pictures and music before the ceremony, which we asked them to do. Of course didn’t work day of, so had to drive to Parker and back in less than one hour to get files on thumb drive, so missed welcoming the 200+ guests that attended. When all said and done was told they would throw in 2 DVD’s as a token of their appreciation for our business and the screw up. I have requested the 2^nd DVD three times, been told it will be sent each time but never received. The last request I was told sorry you didn’t buy that package per the manager, the same female, blonde hair, that forgot to test the first time and is now refusing something her employees promised. I guess her justification was the 2^nd DVD didn’t fit into the ~$ 10K I spent with them. This is not a money thing for us, it’s principal. I will go without a service if this is my only choice when I need it. I hope Horan understands how such a silly act by a young inexperienced manager can ruin a long standing relationship with a customer. I would not recommend Horan to friends or family going forward and would recommend anyone who needs them uses a different company. I hope this type of review is worth the $ 0.50 DVD Horan feels I didn’t pay for.

So far so good, my father in law feels very comfortable with these folks. He keeps saying, they are handling everything… church service, cremation, all the functions needed. Thanks you guys.

One of the hardest things anyone ever has to do is make funeral arrangements. My parents did not believe in funerals, so they made sure my brother and I never attended one as we were growing up. So, the very first burials I had anything to do with were the final arrangements for my parents.
Thank goodness for Horan & McConaty. Their pre-​planning services were kind and understanding. They helped me through every step of the way to do something I did not want to do.
I hope I never have to use their services again; but if I do, I know that I will get the very best support under the very worst circumstances.
Horan & McConaty deserves 5 stars, but I just can’t bring myself to rate a funeral home with ’ Woohoo! As good as it gets!”
