We also carry gifts made by local artisans and feature a picnic area overlooking a scenic area. We invite you to bring a bottle of wine from one of the local wineries and come enjoy our picnic area after doing a little olive oil tasting. We ship nationwide and also enjoy doing special tastings for groups. Call and make an appointment for your group today.
History
Established in 2001.
We planted our first Arbequina olive trees in 2001 and have increased our plantings every year to our present volume of over 1200 trees. The trees are a Spanish varietal of the Arbequina type tree. In 2010 we opened our tasting room after reaching a threshold of production that allows us to meet our customer demand. The tasting room is about a mile from the ranch. Our annual May open house is known for good food and great music featuring local and nationally know artists.
Meet the Business Owner
Christopher R.
Business Owner
I first came to the area in 2000 after migrating from the Midwest via 15 years in the bay Area. With agriculture in my blood, I had to do something (but not grapes) and next thing you know, I’m planting olive trees and selling and trading olive oil to the locals. Initially thought to be a little crazy for planting olive trees, many local wineries are following suit and now making their own olive oils and California extra Virgin Olive Oils are starting to be recognized for quality and freshness. While working a day job as a Professional Geologist, I enjoy the beauty and serenity of the El Dorado and Amador counties. You’ll find me regularly in the tasting room located in Mount Aukum or riding a tractor tilling the soil between thr rows of beautiful olive trees.
