This place rocks… Caritas omelet was spectacular. Staff was very friendly and prompt. We definitely will be back.

This place is a great easy going breakfast place. The corned beef is amazing. Servers are nice and attentive. Never too busy when I have gone so the wait is never too bad.

The food is the way it should be. The staff are great. The prices are quite reasonable. The parking can be a little tricky.

Summer yummy. Huge portions. Large waffle, eggs and bacon. I’ll be taking the rest home for lunch. Nice quiet brunch. Will definitely return.

This little restaurant just started serving dinners on Friday and Saturday nights only. We decided to try it tonight and boy!.. am I glad we did! The food was very good and very reasonably priced. My husband had chicken fried steak which is always offered at breakfast, but on the dinner menu it’s a larger portion. In fact, he couldn’t finish it all! He said it was delicious. I had the shrimp scampi served on linguini noodles and it, too, was delicious! The shrimp were HUGE… and there were at least 7, maybe 8 of them. I would highly recommend this place. They open at 5pm for dinner. You won’t be disappointed!

Our favorite place for breakfast. Their hamburger patties are wonderful. So you can’t go wrong with any of the hamburger choices. I had the Monterey Benedict. Potato skins with poached eggs, done perfectly. Not greasy

I really like it here. The menu is pretty average breakfast fare but also with options that you wouldn’t expect to see on just any menu. About half of the more unexpected items are a play on something Spanish/Mexican which is interesting, especially because there are still plenty of American classics on the menu. I went in today and was instantly reminded of how much I love certain aspects of this restaurant: 1. The menu has a lot to offer, I couldn’t decide because several things just sounded just SO good I couldn’t pick between. 1. If you order coffee you get a WHOLE pot. It’s just there on your table. It’s begging you to drink it. All of it. ALLOFIT. DRINKEVERYLASTDROP!!!(Okay, maybe it’s bad thing… I have a love/hate relationship with this whole pot policy… Mostly love?) A. They have a bunch of yummy coffee creamer favors 7. Gorgeous art hanging on the walls I. You can get fruit with your meal or potatoes, depending on if you’re feeling in the mood to be healthy and able to do stuff afterwards or gloriously stuffed but in a food coma that immobilizes you for a few hours.(If symptoms are severe, or persist for more than 4 hours, please contact a medical professional immediately) 2. You’ve gotta love having a well run restaurant around that’s locally owned and operated and like this one. I did find it to be a mild bummer that both times I have been here the creamers on the tables were not fully stocked, and today I had to ask for more creamers twice before the waitress brought any, same with the glass of water I requested. It was not busy but it was afternoon and I expect that it was nearing the end of this waitress’s shift so she was probably just not at the top of her game at this point, as last time I went there my service was top notch. Anyway, this place is great, definitely give it a try if you are coming through auburn for breakfast.(I haven’t tried the lunch items yet because I love breakfast too much, but I’m guessing they are delicious as well)

What a great little place! Stopped in the next morning after an evening wedding at the Baley Barn and just loved this place! Our son had these pancake balls rolled in cinnamon sugar, hubby had the huevos rancheros, and I had a bacon, spinach, mushroom omelet. All we delicious, big size portions and delivered very fast and hot. And the bottomless mimosas were so yummy. The service was also excellent and very attentive. Can’t wait to try lunch the next time we are in the area!

We were starving after a 9 mile hike so really any food would have tasted good :) but this place was delicious!!! A cute little mom & pop diner but still fairly spacious! I got the huevos rancheros with carnitas and it was a ton of food. The rice/beans were just alright but the tortillas, egg & carnitas were on point. My mom and sister got the sweet combo — 2 eggs, bacon & French toast or Belgian waffle. The French toast was ok «not the best French toast I’ve eaten» but the Belgian waffle was really good! Definitely a place to check out.

The first few bites are good! But everything is kind of one note. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and it was alright. Huge though which was fun. My friends skillet was pretty good. The waitress was totally judging how much food we ordered instead of appreciating our patronage. Don’t forget to check in!

This place was great for your basic breakfast /brunch type meals. The eggs, sausage, and sides were very nice. The service was also very good. However, does it rate 4⁄5 stars? Not necessarily. If you are going through Auburn, you should definitely check this place out. I love that it’s locally owned, and the service was super great. The mains were, unfortunately, just good. The sides were also just«good.» The biscuits and gravy — for which I had high hopes — were very tasty. However, the«biscuits» were really cake-like and the gravy was really heavy. Overall, I’d give it 4/5, but there’s nothing here that blows you away. The space is nice, the wait staff is great, and the food is good — definitely 100% 3-star worthy. Is it 4-star worthy? Maybe on a follow up visit at breakfast time. However, it’s a big space with lots of competition nearby — next time we are in Auburn, maybe we’ll branch out??? ;P –R

This place is very mellow, and serves yummy food! I went with a group of 6, they had our reservation, and sat us at a table right away. Their service was attentive, friendly, and nothing over the top. I had eggs Benny, which was delicious. Their hash browns are tasty and everyone was satisfied with their meal.

We stopped here for breakfast on the way back from Reno, as it seemed like the cheapest, best option. However, it wasn’t as cheap as I expected( Unilocal said it was one dollar-sign($), and I would say it was two dollar signs($$), as most of the entrees were a little under ten dollars.(With tax and tip, it pushes it above the Unilocal-defined threshold of two dollar signs because it goes over $ 11)). The portions were large, which compensated for the somewhat higher prices. The entrees got cold pretty quickly though, as it was chilly inside the restaurant(and the restrooms were even more frigid). One star also comes off because it didn’t seem very clean. My sister’s napkin that wrapped around the utensils already had someone else’s leftover hot sauce on the outside. And the utensils were a tad dirty. I appreciate the fact that it is a family-run restaurant, but there was nothing particularly special about the food — just your typical breakfast-fare, so I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way to return.

Came here New Years Eve morning because Max’s was closed and that is my grandparents and I’s usual go to when we’re in Auburn. Well they weren’t open yet so we ended up at the Daily Egg and boy were we happy! Our server is the owner’s cousin I believe but I don’t remember her name. She was delightful. She answered all of our questions. My grandfather was so happy with their extensive menu and is excited to «work his way through it». I ordered a traditional breakfast of eggs, hash browns, toast and bacon(extra crispy). It was perfect. The hashbrowns had this amazing seasoning it which made them stand out from hash browns at other restaurants. I’m pretty picky on my bacon and the way it is cooked it was perfectly cooked here. My grandmother ordered a smaller version of an omelette I think and it was perfect size. I have never seen her finish her plate and she did here. Overall this place is awesome. Sent my dad and nieces for breakfast today and they enjoyed it as well! Great portions and prices reflect it. Awesome service, awesome food.

This is a popular place, especially on this Sunday morning. Not many breakfast spots in this part of old town Auburn. Drove to Auburn to specifically find a cool breakfast gem. I’ve had a couple of joints bookmarked and selected The Daily Egg because it was the first one we came to as we cruised the streets. Not a glamorous interior but functional enough for it’s purpose. Four-top tables about the main floor with some two-tops around the edges. Super friendly and welcoming staff. With a coffee mug that’s brilliant green and their name emblazoned on the side, you can’t help think«this ought to be good.» Our breakfast, with a pot of coffee on the table: * cheese and mushroom omelet(2 egg instead of the normal 4 egg omelet) with country potatoes, * vegetable skillet; two eggs over medium atop country potatoes with broccoli, mushroom, bell pepper, easy on the cheese, and avocado. * a side of just one biscuit and gravy(because I wanted it but didn’t need it) All was prepared nicely, fresh, and tasty. I did need to add some salt to the potato and veges. There’s no particular seasoning that was obvious on the potatoes; not a bad thing. The veges weren’t overcooked allowing for a slight a slight crunch. The gravy was a bit too salty but I had no problem spooning it in. Definitely recommend this small local owner operated café. The locals and passers-thru like it!

We stopped by the Daily Egg on our way home from Sacramento this weekend and had a great experience! This place is located right in the little downtown of Auburn which is a cute and quiet little town with small shops, coffee places and great breakfast. The Daily egg is a fairly big place for the small town so we didn’t have to wait at all yet the place was busy so you knew it was good. Right when we got sat we took a look over the menu which had plenty of good choices(eggs benes, scrambles, omelettes, etc.) I ended up ordering a ham and cheese omelette and my husband got the huevos rancheros with carnitas and it looked SO good! The food came out in a timely fashion. I also loved that they bring you a whole pot of coffee to your table so you don’t have to ask for refills, it is right there when you need it! Not to mention, they have the good, flavored creamer which I love. The service was very friendly, I would definitely return here when I go to Auburn again! Loved the little town and great food.

I came here on a Sunday morning for lunch with my mom. We were immediately greeted and seated. That is about the only quick service we got and the reason this restaurant is only getting 3 stars. We shared the shrimp and crab omelet with egg whites and the sauce on the side. It was delicious! The portion size was also quite large. I was full before I could even finish my half. The prices are more than fair for the great taste and size. Now for the service issue. After we were seated we had to have waited about 15 – 20 minutes before our waitress came over for the first time. We ordered right away since we didn’t know how long it would be until she came back, We waited just as long to get our food and then even longer to flag down a bus boy for a to go box and ask for a check. Someone who was not our waitress finally brought those to us and luckily we paid in cash so we could go whenever we wanted. All in all, great food, portion sizes and prices. The service could be better.
