Neely Station

Decent apartments, kind of overpriced for the area. They have done some extensive remodeling but upon close inspection you will find that it’s not a high quality job. Kind of like slapping lipstick on a pig. The complex is fairly large so you will encounter all types of tenants. There are some pretty ratchet people here and there are some nice people as well. The maintenance people doing a decent job of upkeep and service requests are handled promptly (though management changes often so you could get lost in the turnover).
There are a lot of dog owners here, almost none of them pick up their dogs poop and the managers do not enforce this at all. Something I don’t have a problem with but then you always end up with that one white trash tenant who tries to go around enforcing it himself. If you are planning on living here so your kids can use the grass as a play area, it’s definitely not a good choice.
I’ve never used the pool but the gym area is small but adequate and I almost never run into anyone in there. As far as parking goes, the unmarked spots do fill up at night and people park in my paid for spot often but then I just have them towed. Trucks will usually come within the hour. Lived here just over 6 months, probably won’t re-​lease simply because you can find some much nicer 2br apartments than this one in the $ 1200/​mo range.

I added one star thanks to the new manager, Chris. He was kind and helpful to me even after sensing my frustration with leaving Neely Station. He handled the management piece well.
I STILL RECOMMEND YOU STAY AWAY
Here is my executive summary:
I rented a 2 bedroom for 2 years and moved into a 1 bedroom and only stayed for 4 weeks.
M2, top unit:
1. If you like hobos digging through the garbage at 3−4am ALL SUMMER LONG, go ahead and rent here.
2. The re-​roofing crew sawed through the roof in 2 places and didn’t even realize it until I complained.
3. Great maintenance crew (extremely friendly) but they can’t actually fix a dang thing.
**revised — I do owe them more credit. they did fix my washing machine once and installed a peephole for me. it took 4x as long as any other contractor, but the service was free**
4. MOLD… sooooooooo much BLACK MOLD. It won’t be there when you first move in…
E7, floor unit:
1. Ants… so many ants, even with a spotless apartment, bug spray, ant traps, you name it.
2. Parking: Zero troubles at M2, E7 — good luck! Rent is $ 20/​mo per spot if they have anything open at all. If you need to park in guest, you’ll have to park AT LEAST 2 buildings away everyday.
Background:
If I had rated Neely Station 4 weeks ago it would be a 3 out of 5, because living in M2 wasn’t awful. 4 weeks ago we moved from M2 to E7 (2 bedroom to a 1 bedroom) to save money.
I toured the one bedroom showroom expecting my new place to mirror that model but it did not. The model had a hallway closet with the W/​D and plenty of space, plus an extra hallway closet for linens. E7 had neither of these and the W/​D is too big for the closet they put it in so it literally BANGS against the wall (they had to remove a piece of wood from the door jam to shove the W/​D in). I could also hear the neighbors above me EVERY SINGLE TIME they went pee and washed their clothes… their W/​D also banged against the wall. The bathroom floor had previous water damage and I could tell because the floor waved and my bedroom door wouldn’t shut, but I asked the manager and they denied it (**previous manager, Mary (seems she took over after CJ transferred, CJ was phenomenal). Mary really frustrated me… I’ve never met a worse manager).
HUGE CONCERN:
We moved out of E7, because the apartment upstairs caught fire last weekend and it was unsafe for us to live there (although management told us we would be just fine). Let me clarify why it was unsafe… the ceiling was spongy (literally wiggled) from the amount of soaking wet insulation that was above us in the ceiling (from the fire hoses being sprayed to put out the flames above us). The intent is to rent out the apartment ASAP… disappointing. Anyone who rents that apartment is at serious risk for cancer.
The apartments look good on the inside, but you are fool to live here.
Don’t make the same mistake we did.

My husband and I moved in over a year a go. We’re almost coming to the end of our second year. The office is amazing. The women who run it are very knowledgable, and more than willing to work with you if you just ask. The apartments are nice. Very easy to live in, and always nice.
The staff and handy guys are very prompt and always so nice.
The apartments are well worth the price and security.
I would recommend these apartments to anyone.

I moved into Neely Station November of 2012, I am coming up to the end of my lease and I am moving out. But ONLY because I work in the (apartment) industry I am able to get a $ 1000 apartment for only $ 760. But, I will leave Neely Station with nothing but good things to say.
During the year I have lived here I have really enjoyed calling this my home. I live in a one bedroom (the larger layout) on the top floor of a two story building. I have a corner unit which gives me an extra little window that I love in my bedroom. One of the main reasons I chose Neely is because there are so many windows!
I chose Neely Station because of the renovations. Having a renovated apartment is very important to me! That and having a washer and dryer. The colors of the apartment are different then any I have seen, the darker colored carpet is beautiful with the coloring they chose for the cabinets and doors and walls. They also have an accent wall painted that is a nice neutral color but really makes the place look great. Pretty much everything was brand new when I moved in. There is tons of closet space and the open layout is also vey nice. I am truly impressed with what they did with their renovations.
As for the location of the apartments… it’s not the best. Only because Auburn isn’t necessarily the best place to live in. However, I love that I live right across from a 7 – 11 for those nights I don’t want to drive somewhere. There are plenty of grocery stores and drug stores and lots of restaurants in the area. And easy access to the freeway. Which I always love. I feel like once you leave the parking lot of Neely Station you are in Auburn, but when you pull into Neely, you are in another city. Neely is very well kept, clean, and quiet. If you are looking for a decent place to live in Auburn, you must check them out. The price can be a bit high but they usually have specials. I got 2 and ½ months FREE for rent! It was great. I will miss living here, and would have renewed but as I said early, I can get a discount on rent, so why not. The increase was only $ 10 for a year so that wasn’t bad either. You get what you pay for, and I believe I got a decent rate seeing as I didn’t pay rent for near 3 months.
As for the other review about mold, I haven’t had any problems in my unit and I know none of neighbors have either. Another good thing is I haven’t had any pest issues either. That always scares me anytime I move. I give Neely 5 stars!!! CJ and Jill have always been great as well. Thank you for making this a great place to call home.
My first review for an apartment and I feel like all I did was ramble, well if you actually read all this, good, at least someone did! :)

Completely overpriced for the area. Been here just over two months and this is the worst rental mistake I’ve ever made. Regret every day living here. Sure they’ve put in new flooring and slapped on fresh paint, but all they’ve done is cover up existing issues. Literally, my bathroom floor is rotting away. Their fix is new flooring to cover the rotting floor and some tacky white caulk on the brown flooring to prevent more water seeping through. Both bathrooms smell like mold. They’ve painted the inside of the cabinets dark brown to cover existing mold stains. We’ve both already gotten upper respiratory infections from the mold in the apartment. This is one of the newer buildings on the property too. They say you can pay your rent online hassle free. Not so! They want to charge you $ 10 to pay your rent online. STAY AWAY FROM THIS OVERPRICED DUMP and Pinnacle family of companies.
