I came here today since Soo was closed for some reason, but I can’t justify returning. The katsu was overcooked, the regular chicken teriyaki was pretty good, but the sauce was too salty. Portions are somewhat small(even the rice), and when a frozen pork roll is the best part of the meal, it’s really not worth going back for. They are quite nice and helpful, but I have no idea how they won awards based on what I was served. They’re more of a pan-asian place, and I tend to avoid those since they’re usually mediocre.

Best spicy teriyaki I’ve had anywhere. They recently cut down on the sauce though. They are always friendly, fast, and delicious. Once you’ve had Mom’s, there is no going back. :)

Please use fresh seafood and veggies, not frozen(mush). Wasted $ 10 on lunch. I’ve lived in Japan for 18 years and this aint cutting it. Sorry!

1st and last time here. The Mongolian beef was literally rancid with the sour stench of rotting meat. It was the first thing I tried and It ruined my appetite to where I just threw everything in the trash. Too bad I had it to go. I would have insisted on them taking a bite in front of me. I was slightly overcharged too. I ordered the chicken teriyaki lunch special($ 5.99) and a combo of Mongolian beef /chicken katsu($ 8.99). Some how they charged my credit card $ 17.85. Lastly, while waiting for my food I accidentally overfilled my soda cup with ice and found a bug while pouring out the excess. What a horrific experience.

I give it 4 stars because i’ve been going there for 6 years now. The crispy chicken is a must try. It’s unlike anything you can get at a teriyaki restaurant. I would definitely recommend the Kent location on benson over the auburn location because the main owner, gene, is one of the nicest guys around.

I like it. Good food to take home on a rainy Auburn Day.

I had been such a big fan of the Kent location(so bummed it closed! :() so after a workout, the fianc and I came here for the first time recently. I had always heard rave reviews about this place, so I don’t know what it is but I wasn’t too crazy about it. I mean, the owners/staff seem to be very nice and friendly, don’t get me wrong. I think it was just the taste; like the sauce or something wasn’t quite what we were used to at the Kent location.(Although I had my sauce on the side, I did try a little bit and both of us felt it just wasn’t the same). I’m not really in the Auburn area much, so I couldn’t suggest any other teriyaki places close by, but I’m sure there are some not far from here. The place *isn’t* terrible or anything; I had a different expectation and this place didn’t meet it, so I just find this place to be alright.

Believe the hype! You just have to know what to order… we always get the spicy chicken teriyaki and the fried rice. I am NOT a fan of fried rice, but I could eat Mom’s fried rice all day, every day. It is that delicious. This place is the best Teriyaki in the South King County area hands down, bar none.

When I used to work in Kent I used to come here regularly for lunch. Awesome place to sit and eat. Great service. Food is cheap and portions and quality are generous. And unlimited refills on soda which is always a plus!

First and foremost, you look for heart and soul. Mom’s Teriyaki has it with a smile. Great flavor and generous portions. A great on the way lunch spot with very reasonable prices. A comfortable place for the casual diner and very enthusiastic about service. Great energy.

My boyfriend and I have been going to Mom’s for years. We love their food and hospitality. Mom’s is well established in the community we’ve gotten to know the family who works there. They are hard working, awesome people! We’ve tried different Teriyaki places, few are better but most are not as good. Mom’s will always be #1 in our book!

I agree with Molly. I really don’t get what the fuss is over this place and why it is so popular. I have gone here a couple times with friends who just drool over the thought of this place. I actually prefer Ginger Teriyaki II down on the other side of town above all else. This place has huge portions of just okay teriyaki. It doesn’t get my taste buds jumping but its OKAY. As long as there are other teriyaki places like Gingers in the area I won’t be going here.

All the other kids in the area always rave about what a great place Mom’s is. Personally, I just don’t get it. It’s alright, but it’s nothing special. I remember one time I bought a spring roll that was frozen on the inside. –_– But whatever, it’s cheap and edible and if you just need something quick for lunch I guess it’s alright.
