History

Established in 1983.

Closets by Design began in California in 1983. In 2013 we introduced this high quality business to Southeastern Michigan. Our quality and expertise surpasses all others on the market.

Our more than 30 years of custom closet making made bringing Closets by Design to Michigan an easy choice.

All of the people who work on your closet, from design to installation, are employees. We don’t contract any work to outside sources.

We are eco friendly, licensed and insured.

We design your spaces by hand so you can see each component you are getting. We maximize every inch of your space. Every panel and shelf is individually cut for your closet, workroom, garage, pantry, etc. Nothing is mass produced.

This franchise was opened in 2013 in Auburn Hills, by two men with over 30 years of custom cabinetry experience.

Gary and his son Matt had a dream of doing more custom cabinetry for more people, and chose Closets by Design as their avenue to do so.

After researching many franchises, they found that the quality and expertise of this 32 year old international company was the right new place to continue their craft.
