The Claridge Hotel

We came here and checked in and it was so much fun. My fiancé was in the bathroom and started screaming at me to come here. There were 2 roaches just lurking around in the freaking bathroom. DISGUSTING! As much as we paid for this hotel i will not be staying, recommending or even thinking about this hotel again. They moved us to another room until check out. Im so livid right now. I get that big hotels may have mice and other bugs but for 2 roaches to just come walking out like they own shit is ridiculous.

We don’t travel often, but we’ve stayed in far cheaper hotels… heck, I stayed in many tiny rooms in Europe in high school… this was WAY worse! When we arrived, the first impression of the room did not measure up to the «suite» we were paying for. The furniture, hot tub, etc. was very dated and not very cozy at all. We dropped off our stuff and went to play in a casino before our dinner reservations. When we returned like an hour later, our door was locked and key cards didn’t work. My husband had to run back down to the front desk and we had to wait for security to let us in to our room because someone complained of a smoke smell coming from our room. They didn’t call him to let him know to stop at the desk… we ended up late for our dinner reservation! No one staying in the room smokes cigarettes. THREE employees inspected the whole room and told us they found no evidence that we had been smoking. Josh asked to speak to a manager and was ignored. Before leaving the next morning, he went to the front desk and asked one of the men who had been in our room the night before to get a manager. The guy said he was a manager… uh, we’re all kinda managers… (was the response I was told he was given). WHY didn’t he say this when he was in our room?!? He was extremely rude to my husband and insisted EVERYONE on the floor complained about our room and there was nothing he could do to help us. No one on the floor had any business near our room at the END of the hallway except the immediate neighbors… the room actually had connecting doors, so a smell could have easily traveled, but I doubt they inspected their room for «evidence»… We were charged for the room and a $ 200 smoking fee! My husband called 2 days after our stay and was told by the front office manager that ALL charges would be refunded. I watched the bank account… the smoking fee was refunded but nothing else. He called a week or 2 later and left a message, but got no answer. I called a week later and was told the manager was off and the guy I spoke to didn’t have the authority, but he would leave a message so the manager would return my call the next day. No call. I waited another week to call and was told the manager was off again. I got the same supervisor who told me I wasn’t being ignored and that the manager was aware of the situation… I told him I think he’s dodging me and I had to insist multiple times to speak to a superior who could help me. I finally talked with the director of the company who told me it was a COURTESY that the police weren’t called because it was POT that was smelled (we were told cigarettes). She said they didn’t call because no evidence was found, but that they don’t need evidence to charge the fee… and that they never return room fees. It was absolutely ludicrous and the staff is extremely rude and not at all helpful. We were lied to multiple times. I will never go back and I would never recommend this hotel to anyone I know. After I wrote my initial review, I spoke to my husband about the room fees. Apparently the front office manager agreed to return the room fee because our «do not disturb» door hanger had actually been taken off our door and slid under the door by someone… I guess hoping to catch us with «evidence»? So I think he’ll be calling to follow up…

NEVER AGAIN! I gave this hotel 2 stars for their free wifi and nice lobby but thats where the pros end. This was my first time in AC and I’m 99% sure I wont be going back after staying at this place. The hotel is super out dated, I get it that it’s supposed to be a historical landmark and they are trying to preserve the antique look but come on! We could have saved money and stayed at a cheap motel if we wanted to stay at a dingy place. The hallway smells funny all the time and the rooms aren’t any better. Our bed covers had stains, the furniture is old and the carpets look like something you would find at your great grandma’s house. The windows are dirty you can tell they probably only get cleaned twice a year. They don’t have their own casino so they share one with bally’s which is just as smelly as the rest of the hotel. There is a permanent smell of cigarettes through out the whole casino even if you are sitting in a non-​smoking area which is not even separate from the smoking areas so it’s sort of pointless. The whole experience was gross and unpleasant which is sad cause the hotel has a perfect location and is in walking distance to the boardwalk but it’s just not worth it.

Well, all we did was pass out here after a legendary night. Anyway, everything was alright… the room was small but comfy. Our keys didn’t work at first, but they fixed them at the desk immediately.

Let’s start with the good things, the bed was comfortable and staff are friendly, downfall the maintain to this hotel is horrible, i woke up from my sleep from a loud disturbing noice, the sealing in my room was leaking water and not a few drops it was pouring down, horrible!!!

I was able to sneak away to a relatively quiet beach town in the winter time and I loved it… This hotel was recently renovated and every aspect of it shined. The staff seemed up beat, bright and happy, the amenities were plentiful and the views were unbeatable. The room was very large and very clean.

Had a groupon anniversary weekend
Clean room groupon was for ocean view room was happy bathroom was clean had tiny shampoo conditioner and lotion bed very comfy front desk girls at check in on sat at 4pm very nice ¹²⁄₁₂. Decorated for Christmas Lobby smells like Christmas. Lol. Check in was effortless. Water pressure not good but overall room was nice Jerry the bartender in lobby bar is so friendly and nice. I over ate and felt ill and there was no ginger ale so he got me some club soda he was very nice thanks ! Overall it was a great nite would def come back valet the car as well. Free wifi too

We booked a room here for a girls night. Great price for a Friday night even though it’s the off season.
Pros:
Beds were comfy. Tv works. Nice views. Heat works. I love that it’s connected to Bally’s for Casino purposes. You can walk right onto the boardwalk through Bally’s. They have a pizza and sub shop that’s average prices. And check in staff is friendly.
Cons:
We’re staying on the 18^th floor. The water pressure for the show is just horrendous. And the tub is clogged so while showering the tub just collects water.
Also I tried to call room service to order breakfast and got a busy signal. Tried to call the front desk to see if the kitchen is even open (although you think they’d be open at 8am for breakfast) and got no answer at the front desk either.
All in all I would probably stay here again if I got the same deal. But there’s definitely better hotels in AC.

Ok so I planned a night with my fiancé in AC and got a deal through groupon. There was a upgrade for the suite with a jacuzzi tub so I went for it. The hotel in general is a beautiful and I know they’re renovating but I guess I got a room that they haven’t got to yet. Everything was outdated and the bathroom was horrendous. We didn’t even get to enjoy that big jacuzzi tub because once I looked at the separate shower I was completely grossed out and would have rather not to shower than touch anything in that bathroom. I’m just alittle disappointed because I didn’t realize this until the next morning and when I checked out and told the front desk she was even appalled by the way it looked and because I went through groupon she couldn’t do anything for me. I don’t think I’ll be making a reservation there again

I recently attended a work conference at the Claridge. The lobby is goregous and the hotel is rich with historty as depicted in the photos though out the entire hotel. We were greated by multiple staff members with cookies and beverages! My room was elegant with amazing views and the bed extrelemy comfortable. Service was excellent, anything from extra creamers (great coffee too) to information/​directions was immediately available. I plan on returning!

The staff at check in and out were extremely nice. They are going through renovation, and direction from parking was lacking. The new pool was beautiful, but it was overshadowed by the wet carpets and musky smell.
I can’t wait to see what it looks like when they finish. If it’s anything like the greeting we received, it will be amazing! !

check in is 4pm, we arrived 330 and let us check in, awesome.
room is nice, bathroom not modern but I care about the bed and the bed is great, awesome.
toilet overflowed, called, fixed, awesome.
basic cable, could use HBO but was not there to watch TV, awesome.
valet parking only $ 3 more than self park and you can go in and out, awesome.
valet parking is good until 4pm although checkout is noon, awesome.
bally’s is right there, awesome.
the beach is right there, awesome.
the pool is clean and relaxing, awesome.
the décor was so retro, awesome.
the location of the hotel is perfect, it is smack in the middle, awesome.

I got charged a lot extra because jacuzzi room was the only one available. The jacuzzi water literally came out yellow, I called multiple times for someone to come up and check it out no one showed. Until eventually it was time to checkout, I ask for the manger he happens not to be there, I call the next day it seems to impossible to speak to him. Horrible service, unreliable customer service.

This place is pretty good. Especially for the price. The bathrooms could definitely use some renovations but not complaining. It’s close enough to the beach and connected to Ballys. I enjoyed my stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

I thought I was going to like this hotel way more then I did.
I love the 20“s theme and the hotel was very clean. We had a nice time and most of the staff was very friendly but not to helpful. The most helpful staff was the check-​in employees. The rest of the staff always seemed to busy. I don’t think I will stay here again just for the simple fact the the elevators were so slow, it was utterly ridiculous. We would be waiting for so long that we actually had to start taking the stairs. We were on the 9^th floor so it wasn’t to bad but it was bad enough. Some elevators were not working and if you didn’t run for a elevator as soon as the doors opened then you were stuck waiting for the next one for another 10min or more. So many people would pack into the elevators that the elevators would actually shut down. It was scary and it also to forever to get to our floor. I feel bad for the people that were on the higher floors. Eventually we stopped taking the elevators all together so every time we wanted to leave our room or come back to it, we had to walk up/​down 9 flights of stairs. Its was insane. On top of that, the people in the room next to ours, were smoking weed the whole time and we had 2 children with is. Me and my fiancé both complained about 3 times each. Nothing was ever done. If anyone decides to stay at this hotel, and winds up having to take the stairs, make sure you get an escort because its very easy to get lost, especially on your way down. Not all the floors connect with each other. We got lost twice and wound up in the guts of the hotel. It was very scary!!! Besides all that, we had a nice time. At least it was clean. That’s the main thing that I look for.
Tip– try to get a room that’s not so high up.

The Claridge Hotel is a great spot because of it’s beautiful historical status, well appointed rooms and good customer service. The only complaint I have is that we arrived promptly at 4 p.m. and were told no rooms were available yet (check-​in is at 4 p.m.). We were asked to come back an hour later, which we did; but had to wait in that same long line all over again (not fair). The room was very clean and comfortable. The location can’t be beat and the boardwalk was a lot of fun. Don’t forget to check out the art gallery while you are there! The Anthony Quinn exhibit was super cool. Will definitely stay here again!

A bit pricey for the comfortness of the hotel.
Bed was not comfortable but Loved that the rooms were really spacious though!
Good for one night stays to just have fun with friends.
Would I stay again? Maybe.

The Claridge just underwent major renovations and they’ve done a great job returning it to a classic landmark hotel in Atlantic City. It’s a great location — views of the ocean and right in the middle of things. You can walk on the boardwalk or even use the indoor connectors to get to multiple casinos and other attractions.
I was able to easily stream Netflix from my room on the hotel wi-​fi which was great!
There’s an indoor pool, gym, and a lot of rich historical information about this «Skyscraper on the Sea.» I also liked the free photo booth where you could snap a photo and send it to yourself via email or on social media.

Felt like walking back in time… or walking into a hotel that would fill with ghosts of the roaring 20’s.
Hotel is right on the boardwalk which is great location, its also attached to cesars and ballys. Another plus. Easy access to all hotels without having to walk outside or take cabs.
We checked in on a Friday at around 3pm and the parking lot was basically empty. We enter and see pictures of old time AC, and different performers who came through.
There was no line at the front desk so check in took all of 7 min. They have us 2 drink vouchers to use at the bar which was a major plus!
The room was nice, big enough for 3 girls to share. It was a corner room but our view was nothing spectacular. It was nice staying here because you didn’t hear loud rowdy people coming back to their rooms in the wee hours of the morning. It is defiantly a quieter hotel with charm.

Management– please update your photos of your rooms online to let guests know how great they are after the renovation! You still have pictures of scary castle looking rooms.
This was a great hotel. With a great location at a great price. The lobby is a little dates, but I think they are trying to keep the historic value of the hotel. I was nervous seeing the lobby, but when we walked to our room what a wonderful surprise! Very updated even with a mini fridge! We had a great view of the beach from our room which was nice to wake up to.
In the mornings there is free coffee and tea downstairs. Customer service was great. The check out process was quick and we were even able to spilt the bill on 3 cards!
I like doing AC on a budget so most likely I will stay here again.
