Menu is pretty small, but let me say delish! We started with a perfectly prepared martini and a glass of wine. Next were the small plates — edamame in chili butter and bacon wrapped dates — OMG — could gave eaten these all night. We shared the scallops with pad thai an for dessert, cronuts with ice cream, nutella and caramel. So that was the food. Ambience — we had our own private room — took off our shoes and relaxed on the sofas. Next — service — bartender is like our best friend and he serves the food too! Not sure what restaurant all of the other Unilocalers went to, but this place was great. It was so relaxing-perfect after a tough work week. You forget you are in the Showboat Casino. If the menu was a little bigger, I would probably give it 5 stars.

I’m glad that I am the first one from my party to review Foundation Room. I was looking for someplace in AC that I could take a large group(25+) and not feel like they were ripping me off and have enough room so that we could do what we wanted to do without people being right next to us but also not being too far from the crowd so that we could go and have fun. None of the other clubs on the strip and even the two on the island couldn’t accommodate that many people, but luckily I was pointed in the right direction to Foundation Room. It is the back part of the Showboat, right up the long escalators by the House of Blues. I reached out to Showboat and within 10 minutes Bravo(Thats how he introduced himself so that’s what I’m rolling with) hit me up and talked logistics. He gave me deals on us getting in for a reduced fee and bottle service specials, and never pushed me in one direction or the other. With the amount of people and the great prices I had to do bottle service. He assured me that when we arrived we wouldn’t have to wait on anything and would be ushered right in. I’ve done a good amount of these dealings with«promoters» and that is almost never the case, but true to his word as soon as we got off the party bus(shout out to Chic’s) we were brought into a huge room right next to the DJ. The area we got was huge with 4 elevated semicircle couches, a huge walk/dance area in between, and a huge flat screen. I don’t know if it was by design or not but we also had a security guard at the entrance to keep everyone cool. The waitress was exceptional and check in on us periodically. They also have other separate smaller rooms leading onto a covered balcony overlooking the boardwalk. It was raining but because of the cover it was nice and breezy while people smoked. I couldn’t have asked for a better time. Since I’m finally close to recovering, I hit Bravo up and let him know that I appreciated all the hard work he did for making my celebration go off without a hitch he got right back to me and said that’s the new way Foundation Room is run now and to stop by whenever I’m in town. Great guy and great service, I’ll take him up on that. *Once I sift through all of my pictures, I’ll see if there are any fit to upload.

i went to private dining here with friends before a concert. im giving this place one star for ambiance — as the room was AMAZING and the atmosphere was just totally great. The other star is for the service. the servers were perfect and every little thing we could ask them was answered. they even gave me my own separate check b/c as a vegan i was ordering my own thing, and not getting in on sharing the tapas. another great touch with the service was that — sometimes — as a vegan — if i only order a few tapas i am sometimes not served my meal with the other diners.(this has happened before many times at high end places) this did not happen as the server was extremely attentive and made sure i got all my courses on par with the rest of the party — despite ordering separately. i didnt even have to say anything! the food though was ehhhh esp for the price. that gets 0 stars. i got some kind of pickled veggies that were not filling, a pizza w/no cheese that was ehh and an olive dish. the olives were very high quality but i left hungry despite spending a lot.

FIRSTOFF — OPENTABLECENSORSBADREVIEWSFORCERTAINRESTAURANTS — DONOTCOMPLETELYTRUSTOPENTABLEREVIEWS!!! Booked our reservation 30 days before New Years Eve. We enjoy tapas restaurants. Received call from Jennifer 2 days prior to get my creditcard number, or reservation wouldn’t be held. We were seated immediately. Only 1 other occupied table in the restaurant. Servers were Kathy, Josh, & David. Turns out menu was pre-fixe with 2 appetizer options, 3 entrees &1 desert. No tapas. Ordered steak medium. Comes out VERY well done. Josh took it back to kitchen. Waited 25min for Kathy to apologize & take my wife’s(now) cold fish back. About 15min later food comes back out. Josh never said a word to us. For our troubles, a glass of wine &20% off the $ 225 bill! The proprietors should be embarrassed & Josh should be fired. Never again, Showboat! Never!!!

We got a gift certificate to try in a raffle. This was a very neat and unusual looking place, but not impressive food and even worse service. Food that comes off as too«hodge podge» and not very satisfying. If you want a real dinner, then Tapas probably isn’t for you and this is the only choice. Kobe beef was just OK and few other things we ordered were fair. I often think when a restaurant just service Tapas, the chef is just too lazy to come up with a real menu! They had some fancy explaination of why they do it. What really ruined this place was the service. Waitress was fine and attentive, but other servers did strange things that ruined the experience. Wait staff«threw» the final check on our table while we were still eating. Bus person(ie, kid) litterally pulled desert plate away from me while I was still eating final bites. He was very embarrassed when I balked — as he should have been. Never had such a thing happen to me before. Was rather puzzled, they were not very busy. No «are you done with your meal?» — «how is everything?» — «can I get you anything else?». That was the weirdest thing I’ve ever experienced. We left quickly and fortunately it was free which they did not know until the end. I have generally found that most of the restaurants in the Atlantic City casinos try to be fancy, but are farely expensive and low class places. Borgata is an exception that we always enjoy.

Party of five girls in AC for a Thursday to Friday stay. I originally wanted to go to the Pool After Dark, but it’s only open on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. I asked for recommendations and was steered to the Foundation Room. I called ahead for the 411 and was told there is a $ 10 cover after 11pm. We got there at 10:55pm and people were already paying to get in. Luckily, after some prodding, they let us in for free. The club itself is big and has many rooms with ample couches, chairs, etc to lounge in. They closed a lot of the rooms off because it was so deserted. Thank God we didn’t pay to get in! After awhile, the DJ left and it was good ‘ol Apple iTunes that was mixin’. We still had a lot of fun hanging out, drinking and dancing, but Thursday nights just aren’t happening at the Foundation Room.

I was there on a Saturday night for a birthday party. I’m not sure of the cover, or if this place is exclusive, but its a nice little set up. Nice décor, up the escalators next to House of Blues. More like a lounge than anything, the one drink I received from the bar was GREAT, and so was the VIP service. Carpet floors, comfortable couches, DJ was cool, lil bit of everything, EXCEPT reggae, :(hard to find reggae in this town I guess. Women were pretty, there’s a nice view of the boardwalk, once the weather warms up, I could see chillin out there for a break. Guys were typical for Atlantic City I suppose(I hate seeing a guy spaz out on the dance floor by himself, smh). The only downside is the size(that’s what she said), the place is small so you see the same people no matter wich way you turn.

Apparently this place used to be an exclusive Membership Only dining club in the House of Blues. It is now open to everyone, not just those in a high tax bracket. The décor is beautifully dark with gorgeous tapestry and paintings. For a Saturday night, it was pretty empty, but for whatever reason, the service was still slow. The wine list was nice, with one of my favorite Oregon Pinot Noirs. I think the food can be hit or miss. We started with a small appetizer, compliments of the chef, which was a nice touch. Between the 6 of us, our meals ranged from Halibut served in a funky clay bowl, seared tuna, and lollipop lamb chop flatbread. Most of my group were satisfied with their dishes. Not sure I would be eager to go back to this place, but I’m glad I tried it.

The Foundation is the Dining Room which is connected to the House of Blues. Basically, you need to be a member of the Foundation Room to experience. However, if you are a 7 Star from the Harrah’s Property which also owns the Showboat Casino, you can make reservations. The ambiance is definitely terrific. Almost Middle Eastern. Very cool. The menu is limited however you can find just about whatever you want. Fish, Steak and Poultry. Purely, American Type Fare. The service was pretty good, not at all stuffy. The prices are up there so if you are expecting white glove hand holding type of service because of the expense, you should go someone else. This is the House of Blues and it caters to the Concert going fairly well of type of crowd. There were four of us and we were celebrating a birthday. Each table is set up in a very private manner. Almost like a tent. Another, cook element, They bring over fresh and amazing Corn Bread with a whipped butter. Wow, real home made bread. They also brought over a brochette of Kobe Beef Tartar. SUPER! As Appetizers we had The Oyster Samplers, On the Sampler, there were 3 Raw Oysters and 3 Fried Oysters. The Oysters were very SMALL. The Fried were better than the Raw. The Raw were not only small but far from that Briney Cape May Salt promised. Thinking about this, I would say this dish was one of the worse Oyster Samplers I have ever experienced. We all ordered Cesare Salad. Another disappointment. We were promised a real deal Cesare Salad with the anchovies and all. What we got a run of the mill DRY salad. I wanted my Salad as promised. Surprisingly, I didn’t speak up. Entrees were very good. I had the Elk Chop ordered Medium rare. Tasted terrific not as gamy as Venison. Served exactly as ordered. Not the meatiest so the portion was lacking. The sides were eh, ok mine came with a Red Cabbage which was forgettable. I would have liked something more hearty. Others had a Veal Chop which they raved about. Our other guest had the Black Bass which she really enjoyed. For the four of us, including Drinks and tip the total came out to 450. Would I go back? No. However I would suggest it for a one time celebration.
