I loooove this little place. Whenever I have a seafood craving I stop by. I always order their seasoned fries and choose from one of their fish sandwiches. They keep it simple and delicious. The store owner is so friendly and genuine, you will always want to come back!

Domenic is the consummate host. I ordered fried sea bass platter. The fish looked suspiciously like tilapia; yet crispy and juicy, thankfully without that muddy taste. Fries and slaw were great, but tartar sauce was from supplier. Wish they sold beer! Right next door to Bass Pro Shops and worth a visit. Take home some fresh seafood…

One star only because none is not an option. Worst fish I’ve ever tasted. Not sure if it was actually real.

So being from CA we wanted some fresh seafood for lunch. We went into the establishment and we thought we walked into the wrong place. They looked like they sold uncooked seafood but they reassured us they sell cooked as well. After ordering from the front counter the owner Dominic said to go grab a drink and have a seat outside. My wife ordered the deep fried lobster and I had the shrimp cocktail. He opened the window and called out to us stating its done. Both were amazing! The shrimp were a little smaller than I had hoped. Dominic stuck his head out of the window asking us how was everything and we said it was great. I asked him if they had larger shrimp for the cocktail and said absolutely. A few minutes later he handed us a to go order and we paid and he said I had a cool name(Dominic) haha and we left. Once in the car we opened it and holy smokes he gave us giant shrimp! Really recommend this place! Thanks again Dominic for the great experience!

This place has been here forever & there’s a reason why. Customer service is awesome, super friendly staff, seafood always fresh, & comes with a great price! I came to Atlantic City to eat fresh seafood without paying an arm & a leg & this place met all me needs. Highly recommended Khoa :)

Wanted to find some good seafood at a down-to-earth price. Boy did we find a great deal here! Owner Dominic and staff are kind, helpful, and really honest about what they carry and with their recommendations helped me picked something nice to eat amongst their fresh selections. Wife had a whole lobster and I had the sautéed sea bass. Holy smokes, were they ever delicious. If you get a platter, whether sautéed or fried, get the fries instead of the sautéed vegetables as they’re larger portioned, more filling and for some great reason, really yummy by themselves(didn’t need ketchup). Will definitely stop by again next time i’m in AC!

Couldn’t leave Atlantic City without going back and getting the fried sea bass! The food in here is amazing! We also tried the seafood platter with fried flounder, shrimps, scallops, crab cake and fries! We will come back to Atlantic City just to eat some amazing fried fish here!

I wanted an old school jersey spot that wasn’t touristy. Something far removed from the overpriced, plastic awfulness of the tourist traps of Atlantic city. This was the spot. Dominic was the nicest guy, the food was fresh, delicious and very reasonably priced. I’ll go back several times during the extent of my trip!

Barbera’s is amazing, absolutely worth the hour trip to get there. No matter which beach you decide to spend the day, make sure to go to Barbera’s for lunch or dinner. Everything was extremely fresh and delicious. Dominic, the owner, was so nice and accommodating for our large group. He made sure we were completely satisfied. Scallops, lobster, 30 shrimp cocktail, crab cake, fried fish and shrimp, 2 dozen clams on the half shell, 2 orders of huge fried clams, and 2 sea bass sandwiches for $ 74! The prices were extremely reasonable; of all the area seafood markets, his are the best. We’ll be back again and again.

The only local fish market I know. I never bought cooked food here, but I’ll try the flounder seeing as that seems to be popular here. I buy salmon here. It’s exspensive, but worth it.

I got the $ 13 combo which includes fried flounder, scallops, shrimp and crab cake.(all fried). Coleslaw and fries. I first ate the flounder and was blown away. Amazing, crispy and it doesn’t fall apart. I gave it a 5 star at that moment. Then I continued and tried the rest. The scallops were not completely cooked, even looked translucent. The crab cake was mushy on the inside and also not as appetizing. No complaints on the shrimp though. Great guy I would definitely come back for the flounder but that is all. The seasoning they use taste great. But like all things in moderation. My whole platter was coated with it, even the fries. Which isn’t bad until you’re done. To reiterate I want to say that the flounder was by far the most delicious one I had in a long time. The texture was just right and just amazing. The rest left me wondering how the flounder came out so well.

This is the real deal, fresh seafood served hot. Order a sea bass sandwich and order some fried shrimp, scallops, and soft shelled crab a la carte so you can get maximum fresh fish deliciousness. The cole slaw and fries are okay but I wish I saved more space for fish! Highly recommended. Free parking is in the back, there’s an awesome courtyard for outdoors eating. Watch for the seagulls; the birds know what’s up and will aggressively fight with you for seconds, haha! This is now my go-to eatery in AC and will likely start craving this place at work. Totally worth the drive from NYC.

Love cherry stone clams! Go now to Barbera Seafood Market now! Best bargain for the freshest clams on the half shell, six for $ 3.50! They also have a great seafood burger.

Not close to 5 stars. Don’t go!!! If I could give it 0 stars then that’s what they deserve. Food took 20 minutes at lunch time where there were no customers. Wonder why there where no customers. Guy took the fish out and asked the owner if it smelled bad discreetly and they took it to the back room and when it came out in the seafood platter it smelled bad so didn’t finish it. Clam basket was the skimpiest ever. 6 small clams with nasty soggy fries. Skimpy on the plate. Fish taco was horrrrrrible! Stop n shop brought tortilla with small amount of fish and cole slaw. Are you serious?! Don’t go and save your time and money! Spent $ 24 and didn’t finish half the food so went across the street to White House subs because i wasn’t full. Save yourself don’t go!!!

No clue how this place is rated 4.5. By far the worst ever! Waited 20 minutes with no lines. Caught the cook sniffing the fish to check if it’s even fresh. The worst fish taco. Their so called whole belly clams were the tiniest things I’ve ever seen! If you know your seafood, do not go here! I got tricked from all the positive reviews!!! Oh! And the crab cake. It’s the fake frozen kind!!!

What’s the perfect way to end a trip to Atlantic City? Obviously by having a second lunch within an hour of your first lunch! And let me tell you, Barbera Fish Market is the best place to have that second lunch. Just a few blocks away from Caesars and even closer to the Tanger Outlet shops, this little spot is almost hidden away on a quiet street. Jennifer W. and I were actually driving by, ready to get on the expressway to head back to the city, when we noticed their sign out front. After circling back to the block, we tried to look for the free parking lot mentioned on the sign but couldn’t find it. Luckily there’s plenty of street parking on the surrounding side streets. It was only when we walked up to the front door did we notice the small alleyway a little further down the street. We wanted to order a dozen oysters but unfortunately they were all out. We ended up ordering a Crab Cake Sandwich and a Dozen Clams on the half shell. The crab cake was tasty but I’ve had better before, notably one that came out of my own kitchen a few months ago. She thought it was amazing though, so who am I to argue. The real star of the meal, we both agreed, was the dozen clams. The clams were so fresh, so plump, and so juicy. They were so good just as they were. A squirt of lemon, a drop of hotsauce, and a touch of cocktail sauce added though and they were on another level. Lots of «Mmm’s» and«OMG Yes’s» later, we were stuffed and completely satisfied. Final cost of the meal? A measly $ 11. The have this amazing garden that you can access from the corner at the sidewalk. Sit, soak in the sun, enjoy the beautifully painted mural, and enjoy your delicious, fresh seafood. Is this the perfect way to end a trip to Atlantic City? Duh!

I’ve been so many places for fish tacos and this is definitely top 3 on my list! Came here a year ago, and I am hooked now. The fish is so fresh! They are made to order and the filet is gigantic! I came here after a bowl of phở around the area and I just have to stop by this place for a fish taco. The serving size is like 4 fish tacos combining into one. The breading is to my liking as well, it’s light and fluffy. Such a satisfying meal I had! Too bad I don’t come to AC as often as I want to, it will be my go to place whenever I am here.

LOVE this place. Unfortunately for me, when I’m in AC I’m usually not at the casinos closest by… but if you are in that area by Caesar’s and all the outlets, it’s a stone’s throw away. No frills and smells like fish inside. Duh! They are a seafood market after all… I’ve gotten the fried fish sandwiches and fried clams and oysters. Always satisfied and sad at the same time, knowing I won’t be back for a little bit as I usually make it my last stop before I leave for home.
