Specialties

At The Cookie Studio our top priority is to produce cookies, cupcakes and a wide variety of baked goods that taste exceptional and please even the most discriminating palate. The winning combination of fanatical attention to detail, the best ingredients, innovative recipes and social responsibility has helped us solidify our presence in the baking community and maintain a very loyal following. Since opening the store in 2007, The Cookie Studio has received many awards, including best cookie in Atlanta by Creative Loafing, best Oatmeal Raisin cookie from Atlanta Magazine, best cookie in Atlanta by the critics of The Atlanta Journal Constitution and one of best chocolate chips in the country by Food & Wine.

History

Established in 2007.

Owner Barbara O’Neill was a volunteer at The Atlanta Day Shelter for Women & Children for 10 years. After reading an article about 3 LA women who opened their own cookie businesses, she had an aha moment and decided to open a cookie business in Atlanta and donate part of the proceeds to The Shelter. The Cookie Studio opened in 2007 in Decatur, GA and produced wonderful baked goods in that location until moving the entire operation to Buckhead in Atlanta in April, 2013. The menu has expanded significantly from the time that the store opened and over 20 varieties of cookies are served along with brownies bars, cupcakes and a wide variety of other delicious bakery foods.

Meet the Business Owner

Barbara O.

Business Owner

The Cookie Studio founder and owner, Barbara O’Neill, worked for a New York law firm as the Director of Information Systems until she and her family moved to Atlanta in 1996. In order to spend time with her son during his formative years, she did not return to work. Instead she used her technology background as a full-time volunteer providing ongoing computer support to the Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children. In this role, she was directly responsible for the rapid expansion of technology resources available at The Shelter.

The inspiration for the business came in 2005, after reading a magazine article about 3 women who had left their corporate careers and opened cookie businesses. Realizing that she could combine her passion for baking with her commitment to The Shelter Barbara built a business that produces award winning treats while also providing on going financial support to The Shelter.
