Description

Specialties

Specimen Tree is a specialty tree care company concentrating on the treatment of sick trees and shrubs not pruning or removals. In addition to treating sick plants we keep your trees happy using an integrated plant health care method, meaning we look for the causes of plant decline and advise you on changing these causes. Whether your tree needs fertilization, protection from insects, treatment of fungal diseases, or you simply need advice we are your first stop in tree care. Our other services include a tree safety program, preparation of tree conservation documents, tree valuations, and expert testimony.

Don’t go to the medical doctor for diagnoses and get treatment from an engineer! Demand the same person that diagnoses to be the clinician. We send a highly educated, certified and experienced arborist to diagnose, consult and treat.

We are not out to sell tree removals… our first assumption is that our clients want their trees!

History

Established in 2008.

Years ago I identified a need in the tree care market place and that being a need for intelligent diagnoses AND treatment of tree care in the Atlanta area. There may be a few good consulting arborists around but they farm out there application and treatment work to laborers that are not arborists. This just did not make sense to me.

Meet the Business Owner

Rob S.

Business Owner

Hi I’m Rob, the owner of Specimen Tree. I’m a certified arborist that started in the tree care industry back in 1989 after several horrible years of working in satellite broadcasting as an Rf technician. I grew up loving the classical sciences and the mysterious ocean world. As a result I have studied Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Marine Science, Geology, and Computer Science. I studied tree biology with Dr. Alex Shigo, tree conservation with industry leaders, and tree dynamics with Dr. Kim Coder and Dr. Claus Mattheck. I have also obtained the newest credential the International Society of Arboriculture has, the Tree Risk Assessment Qualification known as TRAQ.
