History

Established in 2002.

The concept of Saigon Basil was created in 2007, after the success of Saigon Café, to give customers a traditional variety of authentic Vietnamese and Thai dishes that are healthy and delicious in a fast casual dining experience. If you are in a hurry and need to warm your heart and soul with a heaping bowl of authentic Ph, the Vietnamese beef noodle soup and ultimate comfort food, or tantalize your taste buds with a fragrant Thai red coconut curry. Meet the Business Owner

David L.

Business Owner

David Lee arrived in the US from Vietnam in 1980 at the age of 12 along with his five sisters and first settled in El Paso, TX. His mother died in a refugee camp in Vietnam and his father remained in Vietnam. David then moved to Los Angeles and then to Boulder, Co where he graduated from high school and began working in a Chinese restaurant part-​time in the kitchen and serving tables. In 1993 David got married and in 1996 the family moved to Atlanta where they opened the first Saigon Café concept in Duluth Georgia in January, 2002 and Saigon Basil concept in Atlanta Georgia in Fall of 2007.
