History
Established in 2003.
The Ray’s Restaurants group offers diners the freshest seafood, finest cuts of meat and award winning wine lists in combination with unparalleled service.
Named for veteran restaurateur Ray Schoenbaum, Ray’s On The River opened its doors in 1984. The restaurant soon established itself as one of the city’s finest riverfront restaurants.
In 1998, the company opened Ray’s Killer Creek, filling a void in the North Atlanta suburbs for a premium steak house.
Ray’s In The City followed in 2003 offering a superior fresh seafood dining experience in downtown Atlanta.
In 2007, Ray’s On The River unveiled a spectacular new look following a major renovation.

Ray S.
Business Owner
Ray Schoenbaum, the ‘Ray’ behind ‘Ray’s,’ is founder and managing partner of Marietta, Georgia-based Ray’s Restaurants, LLC.
A highly regarded veteran of the restaurant industry, Mr. Schoenbaum rose through the ranks in the food business starting as a general utility employee and kitchen manager at Shoney’s while attending high school and college. Following 14 years as a successful franchisee with Shoney’s and Wendy’s, Mr. Schoenbaum founded Innovative Restaurants Concepts, Inc. with the creation of Ray’s on the River. He also established his first Tex Mex restaurant, Rio Bravo Cantina — a concept that later expanded to 13 locations.
Mr. Schoenbaum holds a bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant management from the University of Denver and completed post-graduate work in marketing and finance at Ohio State University. He is the recipient of the 2008 Child Advocate of the Year Award from the Fragile Kids Foundation for his long-time support of the organization.
