Excellent coffe! The best «cortado» ever! I am from Venezuela and I have to say the coffe I get here is as good or better that back home! Highly recommended ! Btw excellent ambiance too

this is is awesome place to stand and chill like a hipster, while you sip on your $ 6 cappuccino.
okay, so I may be exaggerating just a tad bit on the price, but you’ll be overpaying for coffee at this joint for sure. due to the location and the «ambiance» this place gives, you’ll be splurging for the same stuff you could get a few mins down the road for less.
like I said before, the vibe and atmosphere is very dim, grungy, and hipster-​ish. there are couches, tables and a bar top with stools. expect to stand majority of the times. luckily we were able to spot out some seats during our visit. but after claiming our thrones, we noticed plenty of people standing all over the place as they scouted for seats.
not really a great place to people watch since everyone here is only doing 2 things. 1 — they’re sipping on their drink and conversing or 2 — their eyes are glued to their laptops and just taking up space.
I’m nowhere close to being a coffee lover, but I’ll come to coffee shops to try them out anyways. my go-​to drinks are usually lattes and cappuccinos. I opted for their cappuccino this time and was left disappointed. I only ordered it out of recommendation and even my friend agreed it was mediocre. I’m not even gonna comment on my friend’s chai drink since I dislike cinnamon.
the conclusion is. I’d revisit for the atmosphere and it’s a cool place to chill/​talk; not the overpriced coffees.

Stopped in this morning for a full study session and it was just the spot for that on a dreary day! It got a little packed but because of the plethora of seating options and high ceilings it didn’t feel overwhelming. The place has a really cool vibe to it, I snagged a big table, and was quite content all morning.
As a prior barista at a privately owned coffee shop– I have a high standard for espresso and Octane was, hands down, delectable. Like, serious YUM. I loved every sip and hope to try some more varieties of their brews in the future.
I only gave it 4 stars for a few reasons. Very limited menu options, and would have liked to see more «fixins» for their condiment station. Cinnamon and some other non-​dairy cream/​milk options, plus a natural sweetener would be somewhat expected for their top-​notch, hippie sort of shop, I thought! Limited parking, and, sorry to say but not a very warm or bubbly crew of baristas! C’est la vie. I’ll still be back to try more of Octane.

I love this place!!! Their coffee is great and so is service this is my go spot before work ! Great atmosphere and fast wifi.

The absolute worst!!! If for $ 6.48 you are incapable of providing a hot cup of coffee and a pastry that is not ice cold how do you stay in business? These problems were brought to attention of staff who clearly have no solution. I would have been happy if they could have just heated my coffee in a microwave but alas no such thing here in hoity toity land. They did attempt twice to heat the pastry which resulted in burning it. Here’s a hint: when you put something in a toaster oven wrap it in foil first. Or do you have none of that either?

The baristas take coffee and their stylish facial hair seriously.
The cortado was divine. I appreciated that every order is worked on smoothly.
If you are in a rush, it’s probably not for you. However, patience is worthwhile virtue and their drinks reflect that.
I noticed some people on laptops but I believe it’s too loud for lengthy studying.
Like to mix uppers and downers? There is beer and cider available.
Free wifi and snacks for purchase.

I have been an octane fan from the first time I started coming here. I love the taste of their simple coffee blends and they’re specialty drinks are even better. The first few times I came here, I had a Chai latte or a mocha (amazing). The next few times I continued to get their house blend.
If you’re coming here to study, it definitely can get loud, so pack the headphones. The small tables are fit for 2 and the plugs are near the larger tables or the bar. Regardless, its a great place to study or catch up with a friend.

Good coffee, nice atmosphere, can get super busy. Their turkey and brie sandwich was delicious.

Visited this place during one of my recent ATL visits. I got a cappuccino and thought it was great! Good balance of espresso and milk. If you like art work on your cap you’ll appreciate it more.

This is MY SPOT… no where else can I find a solid caffeinated beverage — a quality beer selection — an impressive liquor selection — effing IMPECCABLE customer service and FREE wifi. There are also sandwiches, parfait sand other treats. I come here to study and it always a pleasant experience. Parking sucks! However that is this area in general. You can find reasonable parking across the street behind Bocado for 5 bucks.

I visited to Octane today around lunch time. The place was stuffed and in light of current circumstances — the espresso is fabulous!
I was with two other individuals and we every requested Latte. What a treat! The coffee was tasty and blended with precisely the appropriate measure of milk — exactly the right drinking temperature also. We altogether delighted in the espresso and the service was incredible!
Try not to miss this if visit or live in the Atlanta area.

I came from Chicago and I visited many coffee stores. And The best one was Starbucks. However, when I came to Atlanta, there is no much Starbuck store as in Chicago. So, I found that octane cater the best coffee ever.

This place is more a hangout to do homework than anything else. I come here if I need to sit and get stuff done without being in a loud Starbucks. Many times I’ve come and it’s been too full. Nighttime turns into more of a bar scene so less for work and coffee.

I’m very impressed to get such a beautiful coffee, with different patterns. Cappuccino smells wonderful and taste is the same, very soft, milky. I love to visit the café once or twice a week, it gives me a lot of energy foe a whole day. But here you can also try a lot of good dishes and drinks.
This café has it’s own atmosphere, I feel myself very calm and relaxed when come here. I also like to take sum cups for work and treat my colleagues. The service is good. Prices are average.
If you want to try very good coffee, definitely visit this place.

The semi-​automatic espresso machine emanating steam, with the hissing of milk vigorously swirled counter-​clock wise in a stainless steel hand-​held container that has to be temperature controlled at 40℉, prior to the insertion of the steam wand into the frigid milk, after it has been «bled» of course, and wiped down in between each drink. This task is a little more labor intensive than a traditional bartender. With a constant attention to each detail and a meticulously refining pour. Comes, a well crafted drink that is almost sinful to imbibe, due to the amount of passion that is placed into making it! A drink so divine to both the sight and the three other senses. This single crafted drink is actually a piece of art! All of this, combined with their well lit bakery case. Defines the Octane experience! Taking a rustic modern approach to a «Euro-​American» espresso bar. The craft best associated with a Baristi (masculine). Originally taken from the Italian word for «bar-​tender». Then later, coined as «Barista» to define both a masculine and feminine tender of the bar. Italy, well known for their technique in espresso making and Italian brewing, have been known to have one of the best machines built for such an artistic drink. While we invented the «latte» in Seattle, WA. Has become part of the morning rush culture in the United States. The lore and anecdotes that precede this craft are as ancient as history itself. A bar tender is essentially a barista! None of this mixology non-​sense. A true barista can make any drink without having to rely on a recipe or a dictation of sorts. It is their gift to you! After all, you did just pay for it. One who can make both alcoholic and non-​alcoholic drinks. That is a barista! So as we leave the subjective points out. We come back into this vastly open space. Which allows the sun light to come into every opening that Octane harbors. While, shadows casted in corners, and the energy of the city can be seen brewing up from the amazing display windows. A wooden stained bar wraps around the crescent of the building, juxtaposed with the espresso bar. To the right, of the «semi-​automatic» espresso machine. And behind the rock-​stars known as barista’s. You will find a bar that sits a trophy of the finest aperitifs and digestifs. These liquors are not your ordinary spirits. They are Italian based for the most part. Which gave way, to a very European feel inside this beautiful shrine of morning delights and aromatic scented oleoresins dripping from the porto-​filter! While quick movements finish the rest of the preparation. The crema, gently sits on top of a darkened shot glass. Like sand wedged between rich soil. Should the hair of the dog, beckon you. You are definitely covered! A mixed crowd atmosphere with two sections. One is the sitting area. furthest away from the entrance to your right and diagonally form the trophy of liquors that stood proudly on their wooden shelves. Chairs and tables, with a mix of metropolitan business and university students alike. There is one condiment caddie. Perfectly balanced between the two sections. The flow of this espresso bar, is quick and the customer service would suffice as average. Mainly for their focus on their tasks. However, I did not come to Octane for their service. I came for the over all encompassing experience. The fresh baked artisanal breads, the assortment of pastries and the freshest ingredients Octane has to offer. It is said to be so busy at times, that lines of people start at the entrance and go as far back as the next corner block. Just to do their morning ritual and get that morning dose of Octane. But for this visit. It was quite the opposite. Thus, i was able to absorb everything and be able to write about it, months after the visit. The visit was originally October 3^rd, 2015. If you think, you will just go through an ordinary drive through coffee shop. Think, perhaps the morning ritual and dose of a delicious cup of a hand-​crafted chai tea latte or cappuccino? May just be what you have been missing all along!

A cool coffeeshop with great baristas and service, BUT it was disappointing because the coffee is terrible.
What I mean is, you can make a proper espresso but if the beans are terrible, your coffee is not going to be good. And that’s the case here. I’m a well-​educated coffeesnob and unfortunately am still hunting for a decent shop here in ATL.
Octane was really cool and had a great vibe. I’d probably come back here if I was in the area. The baristas know their stuff and do as good a job as they can with sub-​par beans. Honestly I’d go to a counter culture coffeeshop over this one. I came here to try something new, but sometimes «new» doesn’t mean better.
If I came back here, I’d get tea or a mixed drink.

The coffee here is strong and well prepared. There are many options on the menu and in the past I have had their sandwiches but today I opted for a simple latte. I found the cashier helpful as I struggled to chose between a cortado and latte. The barista was friendly and brought my drink over. For me, while the drinks are excellent, the best thing about octane is its environment. They have space to sit outside as well as a clean, modern space to work inside. This working space is also conducive for social gatherings. I highly recommend this coffee shop!

I’ve been here for coffee and a study place. The place is super busy, but the coffee is great. I try to avoid crowds but it’s in a good location if you like to walk around for dinner, coffee and some shopping.
Studying here is okay as long as you don’t mind sharing a table and the noise level. Great space to visit and they are definitely knowledgeable in their coffee!
Parking is super small. You have better luck on the street or try sneaking your car on another lot.

I love Octane, it’s a great vibe and the coffee is always stellar… not to mention they also have a bar which is great (esp when studying gets to be too much for the day).
My only complaint was the loudness of the music since most people are studying and yes, socializing (good things) but I found the music to be too loud to work even with my noise cancelling headphones. Other than that, my favorite atlanta hot spot for coffee.

Only being in at Atlanta for a few days and in need for a hot caffeinated beverage, I went looking for a decent coffee shop in the area to get some work done and get my daily dose caffeine drug. Octane did not disappoint.
I got there at around 9:00 pm and the place was packed! Ordered a Cortado and sat down for a little while to finish up some work. Plenty of space, with lots of people being on their laptop and doing work. The coffee was smooth, rich, and delicious! Well done! It did not have those fruity flavors other coffee shops like to have in their beverages, and I liked that a lot.
Friendly staff. Great Coffee and atmosphere. Lovely place with free wifi. The place is a little dark at night, but felt really cozy and homey. I could probably sit there for hours and read a book or just do nothing at all while sipping a cup of joe…

Some people love wine.
Some people love beer.
Me? I love coffee. I would drink it every night, if it didn’t make me so jittery. Coffee, glug-​glug-​glug. Yes. All day. I’m rambling.
Thankfully, Octane can totally satisfy my daily caffeine fixes as well as deliver in more ways than one. They’re thoughtful in their sourcing, execution, and service, and that’s why so many locals and folks from Unilocal told me I needed to check this establishment out once I planted my new roots in The A. Plus, this space kicks some serious a**, and the music is fresh.

I. FOOD & DRINK
The few times I’ve visited, I’ve only tasted one of their sandwiches. I’ve also indulged in a couple of their drinks:
*Peanut Butter & Jelly: I know you’re thinking, «what could be so great about a P&J sandwich?» Well, the bread is fluffy, but not too thick, the peanut butter is smooth while having a beautiful, slight crunch to it, and the jelly they use is perfectly sweet. Man, that’s a solid P&J, and I don’t really care for P&J.
*Cappuccino: Rich in flavor, yet perfectly creamy and not too much milk. Oh, they do it so well. Yes.
*El Diamanté: I tried a cup of these beans from HueHuetenango, Guatemala and thought it tasted delicious. It was a little sweet, chocolaty, and fruity. Man, I really regret not buying a pound.
II. SERVICE
Don’t expect super friendly staff (which is fine). Just expect them to do their job, make great recommendations, and push out a well-​executed brew as fast as possible.
III. ATMOSPHERE/​DÉCOR
They play some really dope instrumentals at Octane, and they have lots of two person tables, a couple counters, and a patio. Every seat always seems to be taken, so arranging a meeting there might be challenging.
IV. PRICES
It’s pricey, but you pay for what you get. Very fair.
V. OVERALL
I really like Octane, and it’s one of my favorite coffee shops in The A for now. I would totally love to see a cold brew on there one day, if possible.

Stopped by briefly on a Monday night for a cup of tea. The atmosphere inside the café has a very hippie/​homey feel. It’s slightly dark, but bright enough for people to do work on their laptops. They have some pastries and cookies, as well as a huge selection of teas and coffee.
If it’s your first time there, take a look at the menu and order when you’re ready. They will give you a number to hold onto at your table so they could deliver your tea/​coffee to you when it is ready. My tea was delicious. I had the turmeric /​ginger tea, very refreshing and I feel like it boosted my immune system.
I’ll probably be back if I’m in the area.
The worker was kind enough to seep more of my tea so I could take it to-​go. That was a plus for me! ;) Oh, and bathrooms were clean too (very important). Lol.

Octane has the best coffee on the west side. It seems almost common place now among good coffee shops (and there are many now) but they make coffee into an art. It all starts with the beans they source. They buy from a source that exceeds fair trade standards by giving up to 40% of profit back to the farmers in hopes of creating income equality and a better cared for bean using sustainable practices. You can think of Octane as more of the roasters and whole sellers of Farmers to 40 coffee beans. Enough about where they get the raw product, its the end product that tastes so good. All the beans come green; they roast the beans to match the flavor profile of each drink on the menu. If you are into tea, they have a decent selection based on the same fair trade standards.
This location does not have the awesome bakery that you will find in their Grant Park location but they do have a full bar that opens up later in the day. Parking isn’t the best, either you can snag one of 6 – 7 spot on the street, 6 spots in their front lot, 6 spots in the back, or there is a parking deck for other shops across the street. It sounds like plenty of parking but they are always packed so the lots stay full. Staff is not the friendliest, but they seem like they care a little more than the Grant Park location. Also, there is small patio area that fills up quickly when it is nice out, but there is ample seating inside.

3 words: NITRO ICED COFFEE! If you’re a nitro freak like me, you need to get over to Octane ASAP since they are one of the few coffee shops I’ve seen that serves coffee on nitro. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm, and they were busy, but there wasn’t much of a line at the time. Of course I ordered the Nitro Iced Coffee ($ 4,
), which was super smooth and delicious. This was one of the best iced coffees I’ve ever had, since the flavor was really good as well. They have plenty of places to sit and hang out, and they also have pastries and popsicles from the King of Pop. I would definitely come back for more of their nitro iced coffee. Parking can be difficult to find since they have their own lot, but it’s pretty small. Some street parking is also available.

GREAT coffee!!! Had their almond flavored cappuccino and it was great until the last drop! Bonus points for them for serving Emerald City Bagels (BEST bagel’s EVER) and Sublime Donuts!!!

Nice, larger-​sized coffee shop with a limited, but high-​quality coffee menu. Very traditional, classic coffee options. The plain black coffee ($ 2.50) tasted great!
They also have have cocktails and beer, and a small food menu (sandwiches and salad) which is served at limited times of the day. And King of Pops!
The space is beautiful — exposed brick walls with little tables and school chairs. The crowd is a mix of college students and 20/​30somethings hanging out/​studying/​working on their laptops.
The service there is great — people are super friendly! They have a small (free) parking lot on-​site. I’ll definitely be back!
