Server was a cool dude but i had to laugh because i didnt leave a tip. Well umm.i was thinking he got paid regular salary for some reason because it wasnt packed at the time and i was thinking about some other things. and drinking. So in reciprocity, Im leaving this review for the server i forgot to tip and truly did mean to come back and drop a tip.Well.If im back that way, ill make sure i do. I understand the grind.

I love MELLOW MUSHROOM!!! and especially this location. Every time the hubby and I visit ATL we have to stop and get a pizza and AGAIN at this location lol. The food is always fresh and great! We just visited on 1÷23÷16 and ordered the spinach dip and Kosmic Karma Pizza and both were made and cooked to perfection. There is a Mellow Mushroom in Nashville however the pizza, spinach dip and service always seems so much better in the ATL!!!

I always enjoy the décor with any mellow mushroom that I go to and this one is not different. While the pizza is good, my favorite item here is the greek salad with espenanza dressing (hope I’m spelling it right), it is a house dressing that they make. Can we say, the best salad dressing ever. I may be drooling a bit just thinking about it. Before going vegetarian, I used to get it with grilled chicken, please try it. Don’t sleep on salads! Recently when I went to this location, I was taken back by how long it took someone to come to our table to take our order. I actually had to go and get someone to let them know that we had not been seen. I know sometimes, things may get out of whack but we were next to tables that someone was stopping by to and we were seated by staff. This had never happened before and it doesn’t take away from the food but there were 3 young servers who talked to each other and missed our table for some reason so if no one comes to you fast enough, flag someone down especially if this is your first time tryng it out.

Came in about 9:20. I get that they close at 10 on Sunday, but kind of rude to be putting the chairs up around you on tables this early. Love MM and food is usually pretty good, but being a neighbor may reconsider after tonight. We have two other regular pizza haunts we prefer nearby. Might have sealed the deal tonight.

This place rocks! The staff is either friendly or tolerable depending on which person you get but the pizza is delicious and that’s what we really want anyways. Of course you wait a while for the pizza but that’s because it’s made fresh. I always go for the mega-​veggie and have them make it vegan because it’s delicious and they use the Daiya cheese so there’s no soy (other than the tofu which you could sub in avocado for).
My server was Cameron and he was amazing!

I always say that costumer service is dead. And at a pizza place it’s usually worse. I was having a rather crappy day not feeling myself. I needed a place to just grab a late lunch and do some work. I walked in and was greeted by a sweet girl and asked to go to the bar. Once there Barberella (?) smiled and asked me what I wanted to drink. It was almost time for the lunch menu to end so I decided on a «Mel» which is one slice with two toppings a side salad and a drink so I got half and half tea. Everyone was so pleasant and very helpful. When the bartender wasn’t there the waitress jumped back there and got me another tea. I watched as each person approached the bar immediately get served. My lunch was great and I was in a better mood when I left. It restored my fate that maybe customer service is slowly coming back to life.

If you want fresh food with real ingredients, go here! I just wish their pretzels had more flavor to them though. 2 out of 3 of them had no flavor. /​: Other than that, MM is good!

I love this pizza, starting with the signature buttery crust. Like any good pizza joint you can build your own pizza, but Mellow Mushroom offers up some traditional combinations like their house special, kind of an inclusive pizza, a meat lovers and the mega veggie, which are my favorites. They also have some funky offerings like the Maui Wowie (pesto, ham, pineapple, jerk chicken, applewood bacon), Thai Dye (grilled curry chicken, basil, cucumber, sweet Thai chili sauce) and Bayou Bleu (grilled shrimp, andouille sausage, spicy bleu cheese).
I don’t know what it is, but there’s something special about their salads. It’s nearly impossible for me to eat at Mellow Mushroom without ordering one. Maybe it’s their homemade dressings, including their signature esperanza dressing, or their combination of ingredients, but they’re delicious. And just so you know, the ‘Lil size is more than adequate.
If you’re with a group and somebody doesn’t like pizza, or you’re just in the mood for something else, you’re in luck. While they have a variety of appetizers that includes wings, they also have a good selection of hoagies and calzones. Plus, they’ve just started serving an angus beef burger and a veggie burger.
And they’ve got a good beer list, supplemented by a seasonal list of craft beers, both draught and bottled.
The big bummer factor is they only serve slices at lunch, Monday through Friday, driving me to other pizza places when I’m by myself at night and don’t need a whole pie.
Servers are pretty good natured and fun. Dana was our waitress but our bill said it was BBJ. Ask her about that discrepancy (it’s her handle) and you’ll leave with a smile.

The service of this location was the worst I’ve seen. When I do venture outside my normal food choices and feel Carb deprived I’ve always appreciated pizza from Mellow Mushroom. I know yesterday was a busy time for this place of business, however the service was inadequate. We were seated outside and brought menus but not once greeted by any waiter/​waitress. I wanted to give them time to notice us and walking past us on 3 occasions on the patio, on the 3^rd failed
attempt to bring water or greet us we got
Up and walked out. I’m not sure if the staff is just short staff, under trained for this location but of you’re looking for good service from a Mellow Mushroom try the location downtown the service quality is much better.

Love the pizza and the atmosphere. Always hungry for some mellow. Buffalo chicken pizza and the Maui Wowie are my favs. Always have a great experience here

Came in on a Friday with two friends. The wait a as not to bad and they were on top of table turn around. The waitress was prompt and friendly. Our food took a little longer then we expected but it was worth it. Night consisted of pretzels with beer cheese to start. I love the beer cheese. Main slice was red potato pie and it was delicious. Flavors blended very well and was prepared perfect. Spicy ranch wasn’t overpowering either. We went back to the pretzels for desert with cinnamon and honey. Ended the meal fantastically. We all enjoyed the meal and service. I would recommend this pit stop to anyone.

Mellow Mushroom is such a great place to go for great food. Unlike most big box dining places, I always feel that the quality at Mellow Mushroom is really outstanding. Don’t even begin to think that all they serve is pizza because Mellow Mushroom has an awesome variety of sandwiches that will rock the hair off of your «you know what.»
Also, if you’re looking to eat healthier than your friends that you’ll be dining with, they have some amazing salads and a tempeh sandwich that is to die for. The last few times I’ve gone I got the tempeh sandwich and it is absolutely out of this friggin’ universe. How can something so damn delicious be so healthy for you? That shit is so good I want to slap my mama. If you’re looking for a good, fun option and still trying to be healthier, this place is a great place to go. Also, if you feel like being just a bit decadent, go ahead and order a small batch of hot pretzels and beer cheese. That right there will make it all better.

Great location right in the heart of midtown. They have outdoor dining which is always a plus, with music playing through the speakers. I appreciate that they offer gluten free options, and they are really fresh and delicious. I would recommend and will be back.

The food was 5 stars. The service was a zero. Rounded down due the attitude and plain rudeness of my waiter!!! Defiantly stick with the TOGO option, hopefully order can be made online as to avoid talking directly to one of their rude «human“employees.

This location of Mellow Mushroom can be found at 931 Monroe Dr NE, Atlanta, GA 30 308 in a small shopping center anchored by Trader Joe’s. When I lived in L5P I visited this are primarily for the Highlander nearby (TJs wasn’t open yet) — parking is frankly pretty crappy in this shopping center, but you can usually find a spot if you come at the right in-​between time. Traffic is also pretty bad on Monroe during evening rush hour, however it’s a fairly good time to drop in and have a draft or two to wait things out a bit. I realized I was accumulating a lot of photos for nearby MM locations so this the first review of several.
The Mellow Mushroom recently underwent some updates to décor so some of these photos are dated. The pizza, however is still the amazing oven-​baked, multi-​grain crust made with enthusiasm and expertise that anyone living in Atlanta for any length of time has come to enjoy. Mellow Mushroom offers up something you don’t usually see — a smooth blend between small-​time-​pizza-​joint and consistency in product. I do miss the earlier pies and personality, but some of the locations preserve a bit of the latter more than others (a good example is the location in Emory along Lavista Rd). This location has a bit more of a Midtown vibe with some classic rock thrown in (I never thought I’d think of the Dead as classic rock, but there you go).
The menu items have changed a little over the years — when I started eating at Mellow Mushroom there were only a handful of locations — now they are ubiquitous covering multiple states.
The Midtown location has some fine craft beer examples that you won’t find at other locations — that’s one thing I like about Mellow, they will alter their offerings a bit to suit the locals. You’ll find some great neon on the exterior and blue neon around the drink cases. The service here in general is very good, although when it’s either very busy or very slow, it can be hard to get served if your sitting on the patio. My favorite Mellow Mushroom pies:
Kosmic Karma or the Magical Mystery Tour — the pizza here and at all MM locations are a standout — perfect blend of whole wheat and refined flour with a douse of olive oil and sprinkle of parmesan cheese. I can eat this every day.

Amazing pizzas and appetizers. Service was excellent, lots of seating options for 4 PM happy hour. Reasonable prices, the stuffed portobello mushroom was out of this world– balsamic glaze was terrific!

The food was great, as always, but this review is for the service.
My friends and I visited this location while it was EXTREMELY busy, and they were short-​staffed. They made that clear to us, and we had the opportunity to go elsewhere, but we weren’t in a rush and are patient people.
When we were seated, our waitress made it clear several times that they were swamped. I completely understand how stressful that must have been, and she was running around like crazy trying to make sure everyone was happy, but her comments bordered on complaints and I started feeling a little uncomfortable. I felt guilty for being there and making her life worse, and waitstaff should be trying to make people feel welcome and not like a burden. But she tried to be peppy and engaging, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt.
But then it was time to order. I have a wheat allergy that I discovered two years ago, and Mellow Mushroom’s gluten free pizza is the main reason I like them so much. But when I ordered my gluten free pizza, she asked «diet or allergy?» That’s a normal question I’m used to, no harm no foul. I told her it was an allergy, then she gave me a slightly disbelieving look and asked if I would DIE if I had wheat. I said no, because my allergy presents itself differently than anaphylactic shock. Then she blatantly said, «Well, then that’s not an allergy. An allergy is when you die, so…» I was so shocked, I didn’t know how to respond right away. After a second I responded, «An allergy also means I have to spend hours on the toilet after eating it.» Which was probably TMI, but I was so shocked and kind of offended by her obnoxiously denying my very real allergy.
She proceeded to say, «I get that, but HERE an allergy is when you die. For example, is it okay that our cooks use the same gloves that they use for other pizza?» I was starting to feel attacked and belittled, so I just said «yes» even though that would most likely be an issue. I think she may have picked up on my mood and changed her tune a bit. She said that the cooks can change their gloves and make my pizza in a different part of the kitchen, and I told her that would be better for me.
In the end, the food was awesome, and the company was great, so I had a good time. But that waitress made me feel like such an unwelcome, idiot pest. I get that the gluten free craze is annoying to servers, but it’s not a craze for me – it’s life. I never mind it when severs ask me if my gluten free order is due to an allergy or a dietary choice, because that’s important information. But if I say it’s an allergy, just believe me instead of grilling me about it and claiming that it’s not a «real» allergy because I don’t keel over.
Edit: I should edit this to say that I haven’t had this issue at other locations. Every time I’ve ordered a gluten free pizza at a different Mellow Mushroom, it’s just written down with a smile like every other order. That was one of the reasons I was so surprised by this waitress’ attitude on the matter.

I love this local favorite as it’s walking distance from my house, but also because it’s super casual and just laid back.
The Midtown location is great as there is an awesome patio and 24 OZ PBR — lol
Anyway, this is a favorite as the pizza and food are always consistently good. The toppings on the pizza are quite generous, but that definitely increases the price. Typical Large with 3 toppings is around $ 28 which is high, but worth it given the quality.
Typically, I get the standard crust (medium density) (not thin crust), red sauce, mushrooms, sausage, and onions. It’s delicious! I love that there are so many options in general including vast beer selection.
Also, you can’t go wrong with the Hoagies — love the tofu one!
There are a lot of Mellow Mushrooms everywhere so if you are in the mood and want a totally chill atmosphere, definitely stop in.

My boyfriend and I stopped here to grab pizza with some friends because they have a gluten free pizza option. Unfortunately for the price ($ 20 for a personal size), I can’t recommend it.

Mellow Mushroom is far and away my favorite pizza in Atlanta. Yes, I know places like Antico and Fellinis sometimes attract more appeal, but for me, the soft, flavorful crust at MM is my pinnacle of pi.
Strangely, the hummus they make is freaking fantastic. They use the same dough for their pita, which is all soft and delicious. I wouldn’t have expected a pizza chain to have such delicious hummus. Same for their spinach and artichoke dip. EAT IT.
The pretzels, the house salad … it’s all great.
Honestly, everything could be boiled down to their bread/​crust. If you don’t like it, you probably won’t like most of the menu options. It’s like a sourdough with a light cornmeal crunch. I think its the best thing ever, but, hey man, opinions are opinions.
