Quote was cheapest than other competitors. Got quote over the phone and came next day. No delays or surprises. I tipped the helpers. Will use them again.

Great experience from A-​Z. Submitted request online with specific list of items to clear basement+garage from furniture to paint cans, etc. Call back in 15min with reasonable quote. Scheduling for next day at 10:30am was easy. 2 man crew arrived on the dot! Both were professional, friendly and hard working. Will hire again at any time.

I scheduled these guys to come out and remove some junk from a house I’m about to sell. They were supposed to be out at 2pm, and would call 30 minutes out.
3:45 rolls around, no call, no show. I called them, and they told me that they would not be out there for another 45 minutes. I said «we’re you guys going to call me and let me know?!», to which he said «I don’t know.
My thing is this. If you are going to be late, call and let me know. I took the afternoon off of work to be there for them, and it was a wasted day. I finally called to cancel.
If you use these guys, you better stay in them for when they will be there!

Good price, quick removal. I called and scheduled an appointment for less than 24 hours later. The driver arrived a bit after out appointment time and they hauled it off and were finished very quickly. Would definitely recommend.

I called around to a few places and their pricing was definitely the cheapest. They were also incredibly responsive, as while I was on the phone trying to schedule a pick-​up, the guy was like, «Okay how about we see you in 30 minutes?» A half-​hour and $ 50 later, my old futon was gonzo. The workers who picked it up were very polite and friendly as well. I’d definitely use them again!

I called them yesterday for a quote. The man who answered the phone asked me how many Ford F150 truck loads I thought I had of construction debris. I told him 2 truckloads, and I think I was very close in my estimation. Anyway the quote went up quite a bit when they got here, and they said it was too long a walk up and down a hill to the backyard and they needed to charge me more. We live on a slight slope in a normal subdivision, not on acres or anything. As it turns out they were able to pull up in the neighbors yard and chuck it over the fence, so not much walking, just lots of lifting.
The increase in price ended up not bothering me too much, just enough to lose one star. I was happy they could come out next day, they called when they were running late, it was a pretty hot today, it was heavy and rough materials with nails, sharp edges, etc., and they seemed like professional and normal people. Let’s face it, when you want all that garbage and debris gone. you want it gone, asap, right? I appreciated them coming out and getting it done reliably, and without a bunch of headaches. I would definitely call them again. It beats having an ugly old dumpster in your driveway for days on end.

Small truck so it did not accommodate much trash for $ 350.00 but more importantly the professionalism was not very good. The driver damaged my awning with his truck and I am having difficulty getting their insurance information although they promised several times to, «send it within the hour.» We are due to meet at the site tomorrow but it appears I will have to take them to court.

We recently purchased some new furniture, and had a need to get rid of the old furniture (in addition to some very large items cluttering up our basement.)
I called around and emailed for some quotes, and the price quoted was in-​line with other removal services. They responded faster than everyone, and were extremely courteous on the phone. I like the fact that they mentioned their name several times when we were discussing prices on the phone — I’m guessing they get alot of people shopping around for this type of service and they really need to make sure they were memorable.
When they arrived, the price was slightly higher than they quoted over the phone, but this was still reasonable considering the size and weight of the items in the basement (two of the TVs they got took were made in the year I graduated high school, weigh more than my son and have been sitting around for years taking up space.)
They didn’t call ahead to make sure we were home, but they arrived slightly before the time they said they would arrive the day before, so that was fine. They were very courteous and friendly (especially around my son, which I appreciate) and got the items loaded up in a very timely fashion.

I had to have a very large heavy sofa removed from my house and saw the reviews on Unilocal for Hicks and Sons and decided to go with them. Not only were they the least expensive out of furniture removal companies I called but they were right on time, the 2 men that came were extremely nice, fast, and overall the experience was great. I highly recommend Hicks and Sons.

I did a lot of research to find a good junk removal company and found Hicks. They were great! They were definitely the cheapest in town plus they were quick. They called me to let me know when they were running a few minutes behind instead of making me wait. It took them ten minutes and they were in and out. No damage. I would definitely recommend them!

Called Hicks and Sons to get a quote and received same day service! Price was about $ 35 lower than the 1 – 800 place. Guys showed up before time given and removed my junk in less than 15 mins. The bonus is their website plays the Sanford and Sons theme. Def use them again.

Super responsive, got a reply for a quote within and hour of sending an email, I wasn’t quite ready with my trash yet, but when I called to confirm, they were good to go and came a few days later. They did a great job getting all of my stuff loaded up and out of my yard at a great price, I’ll definitely be calling them next time.

I have no qualms with this company at all. Around two weeks before I used their services, I sent a request from their website for a free quote. Within minutes (on a Sunday morning), I received a call for the quote. I was doing price comparisons, so I didn’t book an appointment for them to remove my 2-​piece sectional. They quoted me $ 80 for removal. I contacted three other companies and Hicks and Sons was the lowest quote.
When it was finally time to remove the furniture, I contacted three additional companies. Only two responded and their quotes were still higher than the original Hicks and Sons quote. I contacted them again, just to make sure that quote was the same. It was. I scheduled them for the next day at 11 am. Unfortunately, my sister changed her move date (I was getting rid of my furniture to get her furniture), so I had to reschedule the movers. I called early that morning to change the date and it was no problem. I don’t think the office called the movers to tell them that I rescheduled, but I talked to them because they were running early and wanted to see if they could come by. I told them that I had to reschedule and everything was fine.
Finally, when it was time for them to pick up my furniture, it went off without a hitch and my apartment building is difficult to maneuver through. The two movers arrived on time and they were in and out in mere minutes. I did not move a finger except to hold the door open. Also, they take credit cards. This is a huge plus for me as I don’t usually keep cash around. They call the credit card number into the office. So, if that’s an issue for you, I suggest that you have cash. Great service and reasonable prices.

I sent an email to this business for a free quote to have some stuff removed from my basement. I was surprised to receive a call back within an hour from these folks. They wanted to get a better idea of what I needed to have hauled away and when I would need the service. Very friendly and helpful during the call and they gave me a quote that was below what I thought it would be.
On the day of our appointment, they arrived early (after calling to make sure I would be home) and they (a team of 3 guys) quickly removed everything that I wanted to have hauled away. I picked something up and they quickly let me know that I didn’t need to lift a finger except to point at what I wanted to have removed. A few of the boards that were being hauled away were actually too long for their truck. I thought they would tell me that they couldn’t take them. Instead, one of the guys asked to borrow a handsaw and he quickly worked through the boards to make them fit in the truck. Talk about customer service!!! They even swept up my driveway after they finished loading some yard debris that went into their truck. When they were sure that they had removed everything that I wanted to remove from my home, we took care of the paperwork (paid with credit card) and they were off. I would happily recommend these folks to anyone who is looking for this type of service. Nice guys. Fast work. Good price.
