I have had a lot of cheesesteaks around Atlanta. Dave’s is now going to be my goto place. These steaks are amazing. I do a lot of traveling and I would rank the food here as some of the best in the nation I have tried. If there is such a thing as authentic Philly Cheesesteaks, this is it and the people in Philly need to start calling theirs Dave’s to keep up with the best. Don’t forget the Philly water ice which is about as good as it gets and will really cool you down on these Hotlanta days.

Sooooo let’s talk about how GOOD this cheesesteak was!!! This is the best cheesesteak I have found in Atlanta in the 10 years I have been here!!! Plus, the place is owned by a young black man with other young black men working in the establishment!!! This young man is winning all the way around!!! Check it out!

I stopped in while getting gas on a very HOT afternoon. The 2 gentlemen working were extremely kind, and thorough in their suggestions. I’ve always been a huge fan of Rita’s but this was much better by far. I tried the Mango, Pineapple & Green Apple flavored water ice. Great job Dave’s you sold me & I will surely return to try the Philly’s sandwiches.

I got the 8 piece wing combo I asked the cook if he could make them really spicy for me. Without hesitation he cut up peppers and added them to the sauce. The wings were huge and delicious and the fries and ranch were also very good. Looking forward to going back.

Another great Philly joint! And this one actually has tables to sit at, but when I was here, there were no drinks to order. Also, was kinda hard to find. They had no sign for the building when I was here either. It is attached to the Gas Station(Shell?)

This is easily the best cheesesteak I’ve had in Atlanta. Why it’s taken so long to hear anything about it baffles me. I just happen to be flipping through pics on one of my favorite foodie Instagram pages this morning and caught a glimpse and had to go… same day. It was well worth the 30 minute drive. I ordered the steak cheesesteak with everything with fries and a strawberry lemonade water ice. The cheesesteak was soooo good. Packed with meat and cheese that was oozing out of the bottom. So much flavor in the meat, the peppers were sweet and when they told me they had a little hot sauce, all my dreams had come true. The fries were nice and crispy on the outside with the moist center. The water ice was perfect, too. Exactly what you’d expect. I will definitely be coming back and telling everyone where to go to REALLY get the best cheesesteak in Atlanta.

After moving to Atlanta from Philly almost three years ago, for the last two summers I’ve been craving Water ice. Water ice is special, it’s not something you can really explain to folks who have never had it. So I was more than excited when I came across this place, a little taste of Philly in ATL. It took me an additional 5 minutes to find this place, although I had read that it was next to a gas station, there is literally not signage until you get right up on the place. I don’t usual frequent places attached to gas stations, so if it wasn’t for my extreme craving for water ice it would have been a no go! To my surprise the service was great, the cheese steak(Dave’s style) was just OK, plenty cheese, perfect roll, but the meat was not slathered on and falling out the bun like Max’s or Jims, but it was good nonetheless… and the water ice was exactly what I needed. My bf had the chicken cheesesteak which was good, way more meat than the steak.

Holy #@$% this place is amazing. I’ve lived in Atlanta for almost 20 years and I have never had an authentic philly cheesteak here… until Dave’s. Dave’s menu is simplistic, and that’s why the food is so incredible. The philly was juicy, creamy, spicy, tender, and with a hint of sweet from the banana peppers… absolutely phenomenal. Fries and onion rings were both fried perfectly. This place is the real deal. We could barely manage to split ¾ of a small water ice because we were so full… but that water ice is a treat I’ll come back for several times this summer. Please support these guys. Both brothers were thoughtful, kind, and obviously very passionate about food. I’m stoked they’re a part of our neighborhood and hate that my husband and I hadn’t been in until today.

OMG! I Just so happened to stop and get some gas when I noticed cheesesteaks on a folded sign outside the door. Decided to give them a try. I am hooked!!! I usually can’t finish a whole sandwich. I demolished this cheesy peppery goodness! I will definitely be back again and again and again!!!

Came in after a job interview. I live 45 minutes away and I would drive here just for the cheesesteaks! Seriously! It’s that good. Look at the other reviews. Not one complaint on how they taste. Even the 2 reviews that were not 5 stars spoke on how excellent the sandwiches were. Their only complaints were the location and business hours. This place is connected to a gas station, but honestly that doesn’t matter at all. It is clean inside and out. The water ice was grade A and you can taste the quality. Better than Rita’s. I have came across very few cheesesteak sandwiches that tasted this good outside of philly! The owner has to be from there, no doubt!

City Line Ave, Center City Philly… Right here in our backyard! As Derek himself states it’s All in the Roll and he’s Nailed It! The only reason I need to go home(to Philly) now is for a good Hoagie, which Derek says is on the agenda for a future add to their menu(Can’t Wait!). Oh yeah, and to see my family!?! 8-) Named for his Dad, «Dave’s Phillys» hit the spot! The Cheesesteak was made with perfection and the prices are Plenty reasonable! Unfortunately we didn’t get to try the Italian Water Ice but that will be a definite when we return. And we absolutely will! Hidden away on the corner of Winters Chapel & Peeler, Dave’s is in the same structure/building as the Shell Gas Station. But don’t let looks fool you! The Philly Cheesesteak is the Best we’ve had in Atlanta since moving here over 30 years ago. Finally someone took the time to get it(the Roll) Right! Appreciate your caring, your employees are terrific(personable & very friendly!) and we look forward to seeing you again soon!

Excellent sandwiches. Fries are pretty good. Don’t bother with the onion rings. I’m giving it 5 stars instead of 4 because when my mom went one time on her way 1.5 hours out of town, they got her all set up to travel with the food and assemble the sandwiches when she arrived at her destination. That’s good service.

wow, who knew a random, small sammich shop next to a gas station would serve up some mean phillies(is that the plural form of Philly cheese?) so yeah I feel like this is one of those places you would never expect or possibly find out via Guy’s triple d show. minus the fact that this place is new and it’s not quite there yet. so rumor has it, the guy is actually from philly. I sent the bf out to fetch it as a carry-out order, so I wasn’t able to interview the guy. but the menu definitely brings philly to the A. they got Philly cheesesteaks, wings, and even«water ice». I didn’t know wtf«water ice» was so I had to look it up. for those who are in the same boat as I was, think of Rita’s but supposedly better. I have to emphasize on the word«supposedly» since I haven’t had the chance to try it just yet. lemme stop with these word of mouth ish that friends be telling me. now, for the Philly cheesesteak sammiches — YES! I can vouch! the bread is super soft and fluffy. the shavings of the steak were done just right. the caramelization of the peppers and onions. and mushroom… MMM! also one thing I must bring up, them sammiches are freakin’ cheesy! I’m not a huge cheesy person, so I’d be one of those fools who’d request for less. but hey, to each is own! you’ll definitely love the phillies here if you love cheese and sammiches! for reference: 2 Philly cheesesteak combos(comes with choice of fries or onion rings and a fountain drink) = $ 20 after tax

These guys are real deal. I spent time in Philly my early years and finding an authentic cheesesteak in ATL is tough. To top it off, they have authentic water ice. none of that Rita’s stuff. I highly recommend stopping by. The food is great and the owners are very friendly.

There are some things in life that stick with you and for some that’s regional food and fare. Living in Philly you get to experience authentic cheesesteaks hoagies and last but not least water ice. This is the real deal right here in Georgia! More than 10 flavors of water ice at any given time, yummy steak or chicken cheesesteaks crispy hot French fries and more Philly-centric menu items like ordering from the food trucks back in the day!

Anyone that doesn’t give this place 5 stars is just nit picking! Great cheesesteak, fries, Italian ice, and ice cream! Yes it is next to a gas station, yes it’s little, and no they don’t have fountain drinks(as of 8−20−15) but it’s a real deal Philly cheesesteak joint! I don’t see how you could complain about any of that, especially after trying their cheesesteaks! I’m a very loyal(second generation) woody’s customer and I have to admit– Dave’s cheesesteaks are better! If you want the best philly you have to be ready for small places like this. Best cheesesteak outside of philly I’ve found hands down!!!

Initially stopped in because we saw they had Italian ice. Upon entering, we realized they offered Philly cheesesteaks. I’ve always found it difficult to find a good cheesesteak in Atlanta, so we shifted gears on the Italian ice and went with the cheesesteak instead. I was pleasantly surprised. The combo we got came with fries and a drink. No fountain drinks yet, we just grabbed a drink from the refrigerator. Not a big fan of their location(eg next to a gas station), but eating area was very clean. They’ve been open for 6 months so I think they are still trying to get established in the area.
