I had something fixed on a jacket here, I felt like there was a problem with it so I came back in, was told there was not so I left. I called 2 more times the second time asking the name or who worked on my jacket so I could bring it back in and talk to her specifically. Her name was Holly and she jumped on the phone when I said I did not want to speak with her on the phone. She immediately started yelling and saying completely unprofessional things such as «you don’t listen right» and «I dont deal with you». I’ve never been so shocked by a professionals behavior and 100% suggest you do not go here.

Have been several times. They always do good work. After my last visit I will not return. I was charged $ 50 to hem a pair of unlined pants. That’s outrageous!!! I thought it was a mistake so I called the store to ask how much they charge. They said $ 18 and $ 20 something for wide leg. I went to the store with my $ 50 receipt and the pants. The guy I spoke to said «well you agreed to pay». I felt completely ripped off. I shared the story w my neighbors as we all use the same alteration place in buckhead.

They knew exactly what I wanted and did it perfectly.

They did a great job on my tux! Very reasonable prices!

Holly did a fantastic job on my wedding gown. Everything was handled with ease — despite some tough requests from me! Great service.

I’ve been going here for a few years. Great friendly good quality service and work but honestly a bit expensive. I’m stuck going here because I know they will do a great job.

I went to Buckhead Alterations this afternoon and I took four T-​shirts to shorten the length a bit.
This is the first time I need this kind of service. I got there, I put on a t-​shirt to show the length to be removed.
An old man then told me it would cost $ 22 per t-​shirt.
As I have no idea how much it costs in general. Each whole t-​shirt costed me less than $ 10, so I said I expected a slightly cheaper service.
He then asked: — «How much do you expect to spend? $ 5?»
— I have no idea, something around $ 5. «
Then he said, with a completely unnecessary arrogance:
— $ 5 dollars you pay in China. This is America!
I am not required to know the prices. And I don’t refuse to pay me the correct amount of money for a well done job. But he could explain the costs, or tell me that it was his price, maybe talk about the quality of the service, anything.
Nothing can justify such arrogance and conceit.
I usually go to parties, events and constantly need to make alterations in my suits, shirts, pants, or my wife’s dresses.
But after that, Buckhead Alterations would be the last place in the world I would take my clothes to be adjusted.

I love BHA! They are amazing! I went there to get my prom dress hemmed because it was too long! When I got there, I was greeted by smiles and hello’s and hugs. (I know the family who owns BHA!) They had me put the dress on and the heels I would be wearing! The woman helping me, immediately noticed that the lining on the bust of my dress was showing. I would have never seen it!
i got the dress back around 2 weeks later and couldn’t have been more pleased!
They had me try it on just to be sure the length was correct!

As a new resident to Atlanta I freaked when I needed alterations on a bridesmaid dress. I hadn’t used anyone and reading reviews on Unilocal had me worried that every place would ruin a dress that can’t be replaced. After taking a leap of faith I tried Buckhead Alterations and couldn’t be happier!
BHA went above and beyond from the standard alterations. I needed the bust taken in and she used a technique no place has ever used before on a dress of mine. It now fits like a glove!
I took my dress in on a Thursday and was leaving for the wedding the following Thursday. They had me come in on Monday for a fitting to make sure additional alterations didn’t need to be made. 3 days for a bust alteration without a rush charge?!
I’m so happy with BHA and will bring all my items here for any changes that are needed.

BRIDES BEWARE! What a horrible experience I had here. I went on to a recommendation from the bridal shop where I bought my gown. I had 3 fittings and each one was more unpleasant than the previous. By my 3^rd fitting, after I had lost an additional 4 lbs and 1.5 inches, and I complained that the dress was scrunching up on my hips, I was told that I needed to LOSE MORE WEIGHT!
Are you kidding me? The dress was BIG ON ME when I brought it in and I continuously lost weight/​toned up in the 2 months leading up to the big day. With all of the great reviews, I can only wonder if they hired new staff who didn’t understand the dynamics of a short dress? I also suspect one of the issues was that they pulled the top of the dress in too far when converting my neckline to sweetheart. Had they told me that converting to a sweetheart neckline would severely affect the fit of the dress, I definitely would have gone without the conversion.
When the dress was so tight in all of the wrong places, I had my measurements taken again. The shop lady admitted that I was 1.5 inches SMALLER than at the start of the process. When I asked how a dress that was loose on me when I dropped it could possibly be too tight, especially with the loss of extra inches, the lady just kept saying, «Oh, I don’t know… I don’t know.» –I wanted to punch something…
They ended up having to take some of the breast padding out, just so my back skin didn’t bunch over the back of the dress when it was tightened. That resulted in me looking hollowed out in the front. All of my wedding photos from the side show a big gap between the top of the bodice and my chest– So much for a custom-​fitted-​dress! It’s embarrassing and I will have to pay extra to get my photos edited before I can put any on my walls.
Overall, I had a very negative experience with this shop. I was told that they were the best in the city and for the price, they should have been. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was just told that they weren’t on premises. I was not offered any apology, no call back later, nothing.
Instead of feeling like a gorgeous princess with a perfectly fitting dress leading up to my wedding day, I felt like a sausage that needed to watch every morsel that went into my mouth so that I didn’t look bad in my photos. –What a disappointment! Thank God the rest of my wedding was magical and it made up for the dress fiasco. Save yourself the heartbreak… DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP… ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE A SHORT DRESS.

This place is awesome! I had my bridal gown altered here and it could have not fit any better. I literally had a guest at the wedding ask who I had «mk» my bridal gown because it was so perfectly fit that they literally assumed it was a custom made gown. Prices are pretty reasonable too! No joke, I can’t imagine a better place to have a bridal gown altered, it was perfect!

They’re super nice and the alterations aren’t that expensive.
You have to pay in advance so be prepared for that!

GREAT WORK. They even do jeans and maintain the bottom hem of the pant legs perfectly. Friendly, timely and affordable.

We moved here from LA, so I am all about using Unilocal to gauge who I am going to try. Almost everything I buy needs to be altered and Neiman’s will alter for free for full retail, Banana Republic if you pay full retail and have their store card, and on down the line. Well, when I buy on sale — I am stuck. SO. I had 7 items — including jeans, a dress where one strap needed be shortened, a skirt to be rebuilt completely, and some standard shortening. On the positive side — everything was done PERFECTLY and ready early. On the negative side — Lose one star for: the dress strap cost $ 35!!! I was expecting $ 5. It really was something I could have done with a hotel sewing kit. I didn’t even pay $ 35 for the dress itself. Lose two stars for: one dress came back without the belt that was there when I took it in. I called immediately and they called me back twice saying to call them (phone tag 101 puts me in a bad mood). I finally went in WITH the dress, and voila, out came the belt on a hanger with no name, nothing. I needed the belt to try on the dress with — as it ties UP on the waist … so not so happy that I had to drive in.

My fat ass ripped my favorite pair of pants when I was on vacation. I was heartbroken. Today I brought them to my new favorite atleration store. The gentlemen helped me, and told me to take em back to Saks, they will take care of me there. He even steam pressed them and put covered them to make them presentable. He didn’t even charge me! Damn do they ROCK!
There is a reason I drive 30 minutes to come here– some of the best customer service I have recieved! Hell, if I even move out of state I think I would come here to get my stuff fixed!

I needed my designer jeans hemmed due to the fact that I am vertically challenged and all designer jeans are made for someone 7 feet tall. I took them in on 3÷19÷12. The man that help me was very helpful and nice. I wish I could remember his name but I memory not so good with names. He advised me that they will be ready the following Monday (3÷26÷12). I was a little disappointed and it must have shown. I really wanted them to wear that Friday. After seeing how disappointed I was he said call a few days before and he will see what he can do. Well I called on Thursday (3÷22÷12) hopeing to see if I could possibly pick them up Friday and he said that they were already done to my surprise. I picked them up soon after and they were hemmed perfectly (using the original hem).
Now they may be a little more expensive than your average alterations place. I paid $ 22.00 for alterations but it is Buckhead!
It is located in the Krogers plaza across the street from Rusan’s. If you are coming into the plaza from Piedmont it is on the left side of Krogers.

I came to them with a fairly difficult alteration — a large hole smack dab in the middle of a Lilly Pulitzer dress (read: busy/​intricate pattern that should have been impossible to patch without a swatch of the original fabric) — and I was pretty sure I’d get turned away. Instead, they removed a piece of fabric from the hem, positioned it so that it patched the gap in the pattern perfectly, and used different color threads around the perimeter to blend the patch into the pattern. When I went home to examine the work more closely, I had to flip the dress over several times just to find it. Yeah, it’s like that. It took 1 week, cost 25 bucks, and I’m absolutely positive I’ll be back.

I first came to Buckhead alterations after purchasing my brides maids dress and being recommended to have them alter it. I should have known they were awesome when they had to take off 3 feet of material from the length and a ton of material from the waist and bust. The dress still looked… well…as good as it could for the wedding (the alterations were great! the dress was far less than great). What can you do?
Last week I drove 20 miles to Buckhead alterations to have them alter 2 pairs of pants. My number one thing, other than having the length be accurate was to keep the thick hem that the pants originally had. Last thing I wanted was to have the pants have that tucked under look. Picked them up a week later and they were perfect. I am very satisfied!

I had an amazing experience at Buckhead Alterations. This place was recommended by Silver Lining, where I bought my wedding dress and although it’s a good 20 miles from my house, it was worth it!
I got married in Alaska and had a pretty tight schedule for shipping my dress there in advance and it needed a number of alterations. The ladies running this joint run it like a well oiled machine. They were very friendly, positive, helpful, and encouraging. I had to have two fittings and the dress was always ready for me when I arrived. I felt very comfortable having them help me in and out of the dress.
I’m not sure if their prices are competitive because having a wedding dress altered is not something that I have experience with. Regardless of the price, the work was exceptional. The bead work on the dress did not look altered. The ladies also spent time teaching me how to bustle my dress. I never felt rushed and I always felt well cared for. You will not be disappointed.

Bridesmaid dress — do they even make these in normal sizes that don’t need alterations?
Admittedly, I waited too late to have this really redone, but the store that I had to order the dress from ordered it two sizes too big, despite my ardent protests, and consequently, it wasn’t just big it was completely wrong.
So the lady here promptly fitted me, taking it in on the sides. They had it done in a week and a half. The workmanship was good — they redid the lining, so you couldn’t even really tell that it had been taken in. However, when I came in to pick it up, I was given the dress and then they turned to the next customer, without even recommending I try it on to make sure it was what I wanted. I should have been more assertive, but I guess I was expecting more encouragement or something. In short, I paid $ 50, and it’s still not what I needed, and I still hate the dress.
So when you go, make sure you tell them exactly what you want.
