Love love love! Consistently good and the owner and staff are always friendly and warm.

One of my favorite places in Atlanta. Consistent food, amazing music, great ambiance, and the three ladies in the bar are outstanding. Yeah, here and there I have bumped my head with one or two hostess but nothing that Jana and Heather can’t solve once I sit in the bar nad let me problems go away. Come here on Mondays for half wine and mussels :)

Apres Diem is tucked away next to the Midtown Arts Cinema in the Trader Joe’s shopping complex. I can’t believe it took me this long to go there. I went in for brunch with a friend and it was great. They have a bunch of tables up front and on the heated patio, but if you go around back of the bar there is a lounge are where you can sit on couches and it’s a very relaxing environment. Our waitress was Bernadette and she was great.
My friend and I split the lobster scramble sandwich and the crab cake benedict, which was more than enough food. Each dish came with a side and fruit. Both dishes were good and I would definitely order the lobster sandwich again. The breakfast potatoes were a nice side.
We tried the Ciao Bella for brunch cocktail, which was yummy. It had fresh raspberries in it, which is always a plus. The bloody marys looked good too.
Gets crowded for brunch, so get there early. Great place to go before or after a movie too!

For decades, Apres Diem has been offering the same exquisite experience. It’s all about enjoying a good conversation over a drink (or coffee!) and delicious food. This is a place to spend a lazy afternoon or a sultry evening. If you’re in a hurry for your food, perhaps the McDonalds on Ponce has something for you.

Nice place to hang out. Good vibe. I went on a quiet Monday. (All other days they have live music or DJ). Mondays clams and wine is half off. Always a plus. I had just that. Clams were good, service was decent, wine was okay (probably a bad choice by me). Prices were fair.
It gave me a very cozy feel. Will definitely try it again and revise my review if I like it better. For now, ³⁄₅ is good I think.

Overall: Ok restaurant and vibe, pricey, small portions, odd metal music, minimal wait staff attendance, less than satisfactory food. Came here on a Saturday night around 9pm.
Food: I ordered the ravioli with duck sauce. Sauce and ravioli were thick, heavy, and salty. The ravioli were tough like they were undercooked and they only had a thin sliver of meat inside. I received about six pieces mixed in with some spinach and tomato for $ 16. I do not feel it was worth the money.
Friend had another pasta dish and specifically ordered it vegetarian, as the server said this could be done. She also asked for Brussels sprouts on it or on the side. They first brought her chicken pasta – not vegetarian. After about 15 minutes, they brought a veggie-​only dish (mostly broccoli stems, FYI) but no sprouts.
Service: Server was mildly attentive. He refilled drinks, took orders, etc. His mistake of the pasta dish was unpleasant, especially when he did not appear very busy and chatted with the hostesses for a bit. He also did not know the wine list well, but I’m not holding that against him at a non-​wine-​centered restaurant, just an FYI for wine people.
Atmosphere: Metal music from the 80s. Sounded like a biker bar instead of a hip joint in the city. Volume was alright, but a strange fit. Tables can be squished together with small space for seating on some sides, so this place may not be great for large groups indoors (patio seems nice, though).

One of my ATL favs… it’s a nice bar/​café with cool vibe.

Came here one night with a group of friends as a last minute idea. The atmosphere here is really nice. They have both outdoor and indoor seating with couches, so it was perfect for our group. The food here was okay, but nothing to write home about. I’d come back with friends if they invited me, but it probably wouldn’t be something that I would suggest. In a nutshell: The service was okay, the food was okay and the atmosphere was pretty good.

Been here several times because friends choose it, im never moved.
It just isn’t really anything special.
The only reasons I’m giving it 3 is bc that lobster scramble is by far the only thing worth ordering on the menu and it’s only a brunch item. And bc I’ve met the owner/​manager whatever the French guy is and he’s really nice but for some reason there is only one girl on staff here who isn’t both incompetent or bitchy.

Decided to try somethings new so we came into Après diem for a quick lunch date. Service was wonderful. We tried to the Lobster crostini and it blew us away. IT WAS AMAZING. The ravioli of the day was veal with kale and when i say delicious i mean it was exquisite.
Last but not least I had the «To all a good day» spiked hot chocolate. I kid you not the best hot chocolate i have ever had and I definitely felt nice and tipsy. Great experience all together.

S’ok. Convenient for a lot of things like around a movie, or lunch, or dessert and coffee like we wanted, in this not-​so-​laid-​back-​anymore complex.
Hopping on a Sat night but we got a table outside right away; our server wasn’t harried but just seemed — awkwardly busy. Not bad, not great. There is probably a bit too much distance between outside tables and where servers have to get coffee, etc, based on the length of time it took to get those. You order desserts from your server, but you have to go inside to see what they have since they aren’t on the menu. Bit odd. My friend picked the chocolate hazelnut pie cake thingy, and thought it was ok; I thought it was too dry to have a second bite. Lightly whipped cream made me think that part was made in house and the chocolate drizzle made it perfect. Based on our order, I didn’t try the red velvet cake that piqued my interest (the dryness thing) and something tells me the cheesecake options are better picks.
It’s no Café Intertmezzo c. 1995 but it’s an ok choice in these parts.

One of my favorite restaurants in Midtown. The staff is always friendly and service is consistently on point. There is a option of sitting inside or outside. Great date spot. They have a area in the back with these cute little couches if you are lucky to get a seat at one it’s very cozy. The ambiance is relaxing with a cool artsy feel. I’ve dined here on numerous occasions, it’s good for groups, couples, or when I’m solo I dine at the bar. My favorite items on the menu is the Roasted Portebello Sandwich, fav appetizer is the Lobster Crostini, and I love their Chai Tea. When I’m in the mood for something sweet I make my way over to the desserts and usually can find something to satisfy my sweet tooth. They have a decent selection of wine as well.

I came to this place a few years ago, when I was still living outside of Atlanta. I had good memories, so I wanted to check it out again. Sometimes, things are better in your head than they are in reality.
Specifically, I remembered they had a really good burger, so that’s what I ordered: grass-​fed angus burger. It had gorzongola cheese, sauteed onions, roasted portobello mushrooms, on an onion roll. I asked for medium, but it came out closer to done, and thus was a bit dry. They went a little heavy on the salt too. And this is after I came into the restaurant near famished, so the taste buds would have been appeased with pretty much anything. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed. The portion size is good though. They also give you a small batch of fries, and a small side salad. I can’t help but think that they had something called a Kobe burger back in the day, but I suppose a few years is a lot of time for a menu to change.
Sadly, I didn’t get to stay around for dessert or coffee, but I’ll definitely hit that up next time. And I do plan on a next time, because there are promising items on the menu. The service was decent too, no complaints in that department. Our server was prompt, attentive, and had our check ready for us quickly since I let him know we had a time restraint.
There’s an outdoor seating area for warmer (but not super hot) weather. It actually seemed more crowded outside on the night I went. Good vibe from the customers, and some nice upbeat music playing overhead. I like that they’re open late too, till midnight on most nights, and even 2:00am on weekends.

This was my second time at Après Diem, the first time was a few years back when my wife and I were craving a glass of wine and a dessert after seeing a movie at Landmark Midtown Arts cinema (which is in the same building) so we stopped in and had a wonderful, romantic evening. This time, we wanted an early dinner BEFORE catching our movie so we decided to revisit.
We got there at about 6pm and the place was almost empty. We seated ourselves and someone brought us water and let us know that our server would be with us shortly. About five minutes later, our server came over to the table and we immediately stopped our conversation, looked up and smiled like we always do because we love talking to our servers, getting their tips/​recommendations on the menu and just having the opportunity to meet new people! That’s why we were disappointed when our server came over, didn’t smile, didn’t greet or welcome us, didn’t introduce herself and just said, «would you like something other than water to drink?» Bummer. She did tell my wife that she liked her skirt but that was about as warm as she got the whole time.
We ordered an appetizer of mussels, (they’re half off on Mondays), but they took a while to come out. When they did come they were swimming in a pretty delicious sauce and were okay tasting but a few of them were a little sour and funky smelling so I stopped eating after a handful or so. Then our waitress disappeared. The restaurant did get a little busier so I kinda understood but my wife and I were in a slight hurry (I didn’t want to miss the movie première so I hoped she would hurry.)
Finally, she came back, took our orders and then left again. This time it took even longer but we had only ordered burgers and we were some of the first people in the restaurant so I was a bit confused as to what was taking so long. When our burgers came they looked and tasted pretty good although nothing spectacular. We both ordered the Angus beef which comes topped with mushrooms, Gorgonzola and with fries and a side salad. The fries were very crispy and delicious which I appreciated and the side salad was… a salad… nothing special. The burger itself was tasty, just needed some kind of sauce as it was a little dry, I drowned mine in ketchup and it was fine.
We thought about having a dessert because we sat right next to the dessert case that was filled with some delicious looking goodies but after our longish wait and our waitress who was less than friendly, we decided we just wanted to get out of there.
All in all, not a bad experience… more like, «Eh…».

I’ve been to Apres Diem a couple of times for drinks and dessert, but this was the first time I’ve been for dinner. I was surprised it wasn’t completely packed for a Friday night, we arrived at 7pm, and even when we left around 9pm, there were still tables available. They have a patio space outdoors, but we opted to sit inside to avoid the smokers. Their space is to the left of the Midtown Arts Cinema.
Service was quite slow despite the empty inside area. Once we did order, food came out promptly, but it was flagging the server down and putting in drink orders, refilling waters, etc that was the issue. My friends had been there recently and said they’d had a great server, so must just be hit or miss.
I tried the white sangria and while good with lots of fruit included, I’m pretty sure it had about zero alcohol in it. It was more on the sour than sweet side, which I enjoyed.
For food, I tried their Angus beef burger, which was quite tasty. It was perfectly cooked to medium and had a great cheese and mushrooms on it that made the dish. The french fries on the side were pretty meh and a little cold, but it also came with a small salad that had an amazing house dressing on it. Maybe a lemon vinaigrette. Very yum! My friends ordered the burger (ok in their opinion), veggie sandwich special (ok), and lobster crostini (yum!). For dessert we shared the peach cheesecake (ok), sweet potato cheesecake (good, tasted like pumpkin pie), and carrot cake (good but didn’t taste like carrot cake — lots of nuts and coconut).
Inside was really nice and cozy until about 8:30pm when the DJ started pumping some very loud, techno-​type music. I guess it turns into a club atmosphere that early in the evening. Would have been fine for late drinks, but kinda ruined the end of our relaxing dinner.
I probably wouldn’t head back unless a friend wanted to go, but it wasn’t terrible by any means.

This place had me questioning my entire elementary school education and English degree. Allow me to expound…
I read two signs as I approached the restaurant that stated, «Please Seat Yourself». In my part of the world, that means you’re allowed to choose a table to your liking and place your hind parts in the chairs in a seated position at that particular table (or something of that nature). So, I did just that and picked a spot outside to enjoy the sunny weather.
Since I was simply following the instructions on the sign, I couldn’t figure out why sever after server completely ignored me. There were at least 3 of them assisting diners outside, and maybe 9 – 10 tables occupied at the moment.
I thought, «Did I break some sort of protocol? Was I supposed to wait to be seated? Are my hind parts where they shouldn’t be at this time?» So I got the attention of one of the servers to make sure I read the signs correctly. I started to question whether or not I could read or lost my comprehension skills somewhere in Midtown (depending on the activities, it could happen).
Maybe I do know how to «read good», but my prescription contact lenses aren’t working for me. He said that I did read the signs correctly, and that he would let one of the wait staff know that my table needs assistance. Okay cool, no biggie.
10 more minutes passed and no one even looked our way. I’m a patient girl (to a fault). But after 20 minutes of no love, I had to take my hind parts elsewhere *le sigh*

I went there last night (Saturday) and go there for the monthly French conversation hour, when I feel like it.
Food: 3. Calamari is decent. The salmon farfalle is quite delicious. The seafood linguine is ok but the mussels are still shelled (extra work). By the way, I once asked for a Dirty Chai (off the menu) and it was a tad off. Stick to the menu.
Location: 3. It is an outdoor complex with lots of outdoor seating. Despite the generous parking, it is difficult to find a spot because of the multiple stores in that outlet.
Service: 2. Waiter did something quite interesting. My dining companion was a male. At the time of payment, I (a female) walked up to the payment station and handed over the bill + my card to our waiter. She returned the bill folder for gratuity and placed it beside my male companion. While the service was pleasant, this waiter’s behavior displayed an exaggerated bias to expected gender roles. I think it is quite ridiculous that a female comes up to give you the credit card but you still expect the man to have paid.

I finally had a win Wednesday night! Their filet with potatoes and asparagus was fantastic!!!
THe service was good and my coconut cake and coffee closed out the evening in a high note. Good job, guys!

This is a great place to hang out, for drinks, tapas and dinner. Live DJ on site with ecclectic crowd and several rooms for
Ambiance. The patio is heated and covered during the winter and scoring one of the couches «in the living room» is a bonus.
Appetizers: We had the lobster spinach crostini (wow), toasted goat cheese with baguette (wow) homemade Lentil soup with beans and chicken (wow).
Main courses we had lamb gyro with tzatisiki and feta & The Tuna melt sandwich; both came with salad and Belgian fries. They were good and satisfying but nothing special.
Overall great ambiance, service, shareable plates and great food make this place a great late evening spot to mingle and eat amongst friends #yummy #trendybutlowkey
