AG Rhodes Health & Rehab at Wesley Woods

My mother means the world to me. I was so apprehensive about putting her in long term care. All I can say is, we were blessed that Dr. Black was able to get her accepted here! The nurses, the attendants, all the staff have been just wonderful to mother.
She suffers from dementia and can be combative at times. But, those dear hearts on her floor are patient with her. They come and hug her and she hugs back.
She is well taken care of and it helps our family sleep better.

Ag Rhodes WAS a great place at first but they only have a couple CNAs who really care and only a couple nurses who really care. The director of nursing is worthless as is social worker Judd and Greg the administrator. Pa Bob is wonderful dr. Price is an ignorant jerk who doesn’t care about the patients but about the almighty dollar and sticking up for the nursing home not patient. Some of the workers here are negligent as all get out and others do not connect at all with the residents. The residents don’t get enough activities to stimulate them or keep their enthusiasm and brain functioning. Once when I was there there was a lady who had to go to the bathroom so bad the wake up calling the nurse and she kept ignoring me this poor woman literally went on the floor and I swear if we weren’t there who knows what they would have done to her I honestly believe that and this is not slander this really happened and probably happens more than you know. FYI do not sign over any money to them because when you try to remove your loved one it could take up to 6 months for you to get their social security pension excetera back in their name tell the nursing home they can send you a bill and have your loved one’s money directly deposited into an account with their name on it. Also be sure to visit but not on any schedule to check on your loved one and also be sure to take any pictures of any injuries, or anything that you find out of sorts pertaining to your loved one. You can put a nanny cam in the room however if your loved one has a roommate you must be sure that the camera does not capture them for it to be legal. Also the activity director is wonderful but she can’t be everywhere and those that she puts in charge to oversee the activities do not do their job. Activities that should last an hour or two usually end up lasting 10 or 15 minutes and the residents sit there watching TV for the rest of the time. It’s sad this is what we have to look forward to. Oh and never go to care plan meeting alone always take a witness because they will turn your words around and say this and that didn’t happen when it did. And do not trust the Ombudsman they are not on your side they’re on the side of the nursing home as is the state trust and believe that

Friendly and experienced staff in rehabilitating the elderly. The Doctors are very helpful and skilled. The social worker is informant and caring. The nurses are very attentive and the physical therapists are personally involved and committed to the rehabilitation of thier patients. My dad truely is showing good signs of recovery both physically and mentally.

Residents do not seem very happy with their options for food and activities. They are not engaged very much by the staff and are not encouraged enough to engage with each other.
