Top choice for pizza to go in the Athens area. Peppinos never disappoints with their Sicilian Supreme. The price is, reasonable and they don’t skimp on toppings.

A buddy of mine from up north told me this place had the best pizza in Athens. I went with him to see if he was telling the truth, and it is confirmed– this is the best pizza in Athens. Beats Little Italy by a mile and Transmet by 2 miles.

Best pizza in the area by far especially when you dine in and the pizza comes fresh out of the oven. My mom visited and said it was one of the best mushroom pizzas she’s ever had and being a Philly native that says a lot. The only downside is the prices, although they are worth it, it makes more sense to order a specialty pizza because the single toppings add up if you just want one or two things on it.

Always go here when i want more upscale pizza than Dominos/Papa Johns. Great cheese and veggie pizza, and if you aren’t a Dominos fan, Peppino’s always delivers on great take out pizza. Having eaten there for years, I finally decided to order the Sicilian. Ordered it in cheese and got a veggie. Veggie was not good, but still hoping i can try the cheese sometime. I normally love Sicilian pizza, but they just didn’t deliver.

The pizza is really, really fantastic here. I’m also a huge fan of their #8 sub(eggplant parmesan). It can get a bit noisy in there when there are crowds, but sitting in a booth helps that immensely. Biggest negative is that I really wish their takeout boxes and cups weren’t styrofoam.

I like Peppino’s a lot! Lots of options for your pizza. Have only been for lunch and it’s usually decently full but can always find a seat. Customer service is great. It sucks it’s a little out of the way, but other than that this is a great little pizza joint!

We celebrated my son’s birthday at the restaurant on Sunday evening and they were great. The food was delicious and everyone was happy with their choices. The only negative was that we had called ahead and told them how many people we should have. Then they never helped move people so we had to spread out over the restaurant. That was a little frustrating.

Have visited this this pizzeria twice in last 12 months. First visit we ordered pizza and it was above average for Athens, GA. Second visit one of staff rudely ask us to «move aside» as we finished ordering, so he could take another order. This visit we ordered pizza again. After 45 minutes waiting and upon seeing the all the cooks and staff at one table eating dinner, I asked about our order. No one seemed particularly concerned. They could not find our order and upon looking for our ticket, one staff member said it was«misplaced.» No concern from anyone about the horrific service, no apologies, nothing. Management/owner(s), when do you think I will return your store?

The quality of the pizza was excellent but I don’t like the«DIY» ambiance of the place. Great pizza for take out/delivery.

My wife and I made our first visit to Peppino’s today. She had the Calzone and I had Stromboli. Both were excellent. We look forward to trying the pizza on our next visit. Good Food — Good Eats!

Ok, people. I wanted to experience this so called«Jewel» in Athens. I had dinner there today. This is not the great pizza that people think it is(atleast at Unilocal). Too much and too thick cheese. Very little tomato sauce. Very hard to chew because of the cheese. I prefer Domino’s over this.

I didn’t much care for the atmosphere when I walked in, I immediately was hit with the same smell as the famous pizza chain in mall food courts… That was a turnoff but this was the last of the«famous 3» pizza places that I haven’t eaten at… I walked in and I immediately heard a bunch of people yelling order numbers over a loud microphone. Major turnoff, I would never dine in here because of that. I picked up an XL pepperoni and mushroom pizza, I figured go big or go home. They told me it was going to be about 15 minutes, I got the pizza in about 13 – 15 minutes so I was pleased with that. I took the pizza home and It looked pretty good, I was starving so I was ready to eat– the pizza is super greasy, there was a puddle in the corner of the box where it was sitting in the truck. The pizza was pretty good– it was huge floppy greasy«drunk food» like every college kid dreams of after a long night at the frat house. Overall I gave it three stars because the atmosphere of the restaurant, the parking lot is a mess, the location is not central, and the pizza is super greasy. But overall it was okay– so It gets an okay review.

The food is still good. A great spot for a family meal! The reason I am taking off one star is because the atmosphere is nowhere near as interesting as it used to be when it was located in Downtown Athens across from the Arches. It was certainly geared towards a younger crowd, and possibly a bit sketchy towards the back of the restaurant. It did have an arcade, which was really cool. From what I hear, they didn’t necessarily choose to move themselves, but were rather asked nicely to relocate due to the reputation as having a drugged up crowd and an anything goes ideal. I think one of the sons, who I won’t name, had something to do with it.

Amazing pizza! We ordered a meat lovers type pizza for take-out and it was delicious. I’m a stickler for good sauce and I was very impressed with the flavor. This is definitely my new favorite pizza in Athens.

Pretty much my favorite pizza in Athens. It would help to have a website and a complete online menu for takeout ordering.

One of better pizza joints in Athens. Better than the Your Pie spots around here. Pizza reminds me of Italy street food. Excellent place to bring a group of friends or family.

Good food and fast. I ordered pizzas for cast and crew of a film on a Saturday night. They made the pizzas in a timely fashion, even though it was a busy night for them. When I walked in their doors everything was just leaving the oven. They gave us plenty of plates, napkins and utensils. I highly recommend them.

Family out & about for the day and we stopped by for lunch. The specials were a great choice. Our food was good. We had the slices of pizza with side salads. I recommend the thin slice.

Great lunch pizza. Best NY style pizza in town. Off the beaten path, but it’s worth it for this Athens staple.

Walking up to the counter to make your order you will find the menu covers most cheap Italian American food. Pizza with toppings of all varieties, hot and cold subs, salads and pasta. Upon paying you are given a receipt with a number that will be called. You then sit wherever you’d like, about 12 booths and 8 standard 4 – 6 person tables. Two tvs are usually displaying the sporting event of the day or some sports talk show with captioning. The room is generally quiet with modern music playing at a nice volume and the«patrons» vary from families to frat boys, but despite the variety, as Tessio says in the godfather, «everyone minds his business». After waiting anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes, your number is called. When you go to the counter to pick it up you realize you drastically underestimated the portion size and wonder how many meals you will have in leftovers. While not the highest quality ingredients, the flavor is still there. Service is what you’d expect from a counter ordering place but they are friendly. It is nice when you see two of the cooks are actually Italian. My perspective is that of a poor hungry grad student, so I view Peppinos as one of, if not the best, bang for your buck pizza place in Athens, but don’t expect gourmet Italian food. One negative: bathrooms aren’t the finest but they make do. Personal recommendation: chicken parm sub
