I’ve been here twice for a brazilian wax. I really like that you could book your appointments online, super convenient. I’ve always been satisfied, and although uncomfortable, it hurts much less than regular waxing. Definitely recommend!

I’ve been here twice for a Brazilian. I had the same lady both times — Crystal. Some people have been very rude about her in the comments but I honestly don’t know why. I don’t have experience with anyone else but she did a good job and she’s very friendly. As far as the place goes, it’s very clean and orderly and there’s not a long wait time.

Great place. I won’t say it is without pain. But they are very quick about it and comforting. I will return due to the friendliness and the patience they have with you.

Usually I am not active on Unilocal but this morning I was so pissed off with unikwax!
I am coming here past three years and every single time I was extremely satisfied with the service!
I tried Catalina and Arantxa and I can’t tell you which one is better! Girls knows their job and they are so friendly and make you feel so comfortable!
Also, cute girl with curly brown hair that working as a receptionist is amazing! She is on top of everything and always smiling!
So I tried to book an appointment with Arantxa for the past one month but she was on vacation, so I took some other lady last time, and she was terrible! I had such a bad irritation and I never had that from waxing!
I just thought it was that one time, and this morning I came again, also Arantxa was not available so I booked with Gemma! I booked for me at 10am, and then for my friend under my name at 10:15. We came there around 9:30,nobody was in the salon and we asked is it possible that somebody take us immediately. New receptionist was working. First of all she doesn’t speak English, just Chinese, so she couldn’t understand one word that we told her! So we just decided to wait. She went inside, leaving the front desk completely empty, and leave us there to wait until 10:37! She didn’t show up for one hour to see if someone came inside!!! So we just left!!!
I am so sorry to give one star to this place but please bring back the girls who knows their job!!! Because you are not cheap and in this way you will lose all of us!

I’ve gone to several Uni K Wax locations in NYC and I always have a wonderful experience. It’s key to make an appointment at all locations and it’s super easy to do online. Not a big deal at all.
I get Full Brazilians when I go so I can’t speak to anything else. I think if a place gets a Brazilian right, they can pretty much do everything else. The waxing process is quick, methodically done and professional. Any of the waxers that I’ve gone to have been great and I have no complaints.
The only issue I’ve run into at the Astoria location is that they seem to swap out staff members pretty frequently. I’ve asked about it and the receptionist says that they are moved to other locations. It’s just a tiny bit frustrating when you have ‘your person’ then you go to make another appointment and then you can’t find her on the calendar. I went to Sunny (who was fantastic) then she was gone so then I started to go to Arantxa (also excellent) but now it looks like she isn’t there either. I’m sure the new person I see will be great too but I would love to not be half naked in front of like 10 different people over the course of a year.

I’m a guy, and went there to get my body waxed. Really goodcustomer service, finally. And Ana was really helpful and nice.

I’ve come here a few times and have had great experiences! Sunny and Iram are my favorites — they chat with you the whole time and make it easy to forget that you’re being waxed… A helpful distraction!

Very unprofessional with time. They claim to accept walk ins but there is never any slots even though I’ve never actually seen anywhere waiting here… Also twice I’ve made an appointment and have been left waiting over 15 minutes but when I finally went in for my appointment, the center was empty.
However the staff is friendly and the waxing is okay. It just takes much more time than necessary for a wax.

Highly dissapointed searched online about their walk-​in policy arrive 5 min before they opened. I asked if I could be seened was told By the technician she had an appnt in the next 3 min was there for almost 30 and she still had not seen her client. Just thought They would be at least decent enough to see me.

I have very thick corse hair and lots of it but Arantxa did an amazing job! She is very professional and knowledgable about her line of work. She had a lot of patience, not once did she complain about the amount of hair I had and how hard/​long the job was. She kept a conversation with me the whole time to distract me from the pain making this a much more pleasant experience than it used to be.

Highlyyyyy disappointed! Call the ask about the latest walk in’s this establishment would accept, on 2 occasions I was told 830 pm as the store closes at 9. I arrive to the establishment at 828. The lights are out and there is no one in the front. The frustration I am feeling will never bring me back to unik again! You wasted my time, my gas, and my energy. I ran 2 blocks to reach the door before 830 to only be disappointed! Thank you very much for the let down UNIK, Very unprofessional! I will be telling my friends to avoid this establishment!
In the time I spent running to support your business I could have actually gotten a wax at some place that would be open when they say they are!

Catalina is the best! Go to her if you’re shy and uncomfortable. She made sure I was feeling okay and satisfied with my full Brazilian. I will definitely return to her!

Sunny is definitely the best aesthetician I’ve ever had. I’ve used several wax salons in the past including the Murray Hill location and she’s a superstar!!! She took her time and was very honest about hair regrowth. She’s only here Tuesday! The other girls are great too if you can only make it on a weekend and they’re the cleanest place I’ve seen. Happy waxing!

Iram is the only technician I use, she extremely friendly & quick!!! I always get a full Brazilian & under arms done, she talks to you the whole time to keep you distracted.

I Had my first full brazilian wax and it was great! It did hurt but Iram made sure to keep me distracted she spoke to me the whole time also made it less weird being that this was my first brazilian wax! I walked out of there smooth and really happy. If you’re debating GO for it, you won’t regret it. This is coming from someone who’s been shaving for 10+ years I will sure be back to uni k wax I am very hairy and my hair has yet to grow back its been more than a week also no bumps or allergic reactions!

Uni K a Wax has the best wax.

I needed a waxing before vacation and found this place on Unilocal.Thank God! With the lovely recommendations of other reviewers here, I was able to book an appointment with Arantxa who is now my go to technician. This was the best waxing experience I have ever had-​hands and hair down. It was effortless and I didn’t break into a sweat. She is super friendly and had me chatting up a storm. I will be back.

I’ve never walked out of a wax place and been so happy. The Brazilian wax is painless and Sunny is amazing. Sunny is an amazing technician. She’s totally professional and caring. I was so afraid of getting my under arms waxed but Sunny waxed them in less than 2 minutes and did I mention there was no pain. This place has been the best Brazilian wax experience ever! The facility is very clean and reasonably priced. FYI: Sunny works Tuesday’s and Sunday’s. She’s the best! If you make appointments before you come in you get points on your account.

Clean, bright, big space. Friendly receptionist and skilled technicians who care ALOT about customer satisfaction.
If you walk in without an appointment, there is usually a wait, but it’s worth it.

I started coming here after my regular waxer started getting packed with other clients. I’m kinda glad my waxer is too busy for me because then I would’ve never found this place. I really like Uni K. The staff here is really friendly and the place is very clean. I really like the comfortable individual rooms and the pot of wax they bring over just for me. Also, I love the no-​strip wax. I’ve noticed a lot less skin irritation and ingrown hairs after being waxed here. They can also always squeeze me in and I love that I can book my appointments online. It’s a tad pricier than my no-​frills waxer, but I’m ok with that since the service is great and the place is very clean. I’m amazed with the type of wax they use. Feels so organic!
