The nice Greek man who owns S&K has been running this business since 1977, and he certainly knows his stuff. I brought my machine in because it was skipping stitches, and he fixed the timing, oiled the entire machine and replaced the needle all while I waited. For a minimum fee of $ 65.(Heck the toll on the RFK ended up being $ 13! Next time I’ll take the Queensboro Bridge.) He was friendly and personable. I found S&K based on a review I saw on Google, and I have to say, I am glad I did. Also, his shop was filled with old machines he’s bought and repaired over the years. If my machine ever dies, I am going to try to buy a refurbished old machine rather than a new.
