Bluebird Park is so small that if you blink while walking near the Caldera Tap Room, you might miss it. Yet, here’s a gem of a green oasis hiding in plain site, complete with a creek view.

This tiny half acre park in downtown Ashland was created for visitors to take a moment to enjoy Ashland Creek. It is also my path to and from my hotel to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Until recently, I didn’t even know it was a city park. The Ashland parks department has done a nice job making the most of the space. It is an interesting area with staircases crisscrossing the stream and connecting buildings and paths. There is one bench and half(yes half) of a picnic table overlooking the stream. Most people focus on the lush and expansive Lithia Park just a few blocks away. You could spend days exploring that park and it would be a rewarding use of your time. This park takes but a moment.
