Specialties
Located adjacent to the historic Railroad district on a side street four blocks from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Blue Moon Bed and Breakfast offers escape from busy downtown Ashland, yet is only a five minute walk to dining, shopping and the theatres. This restored 1890’s farmhouse is an ideal temporary home for visitors to the stunning Pacific Northwest.
History
Established in 1991.
Originally built as a farmhouse in the 1890’s, the Inn has been hosting visitors to Ashland since 1991. It was named The MouseTrap Inn as a nod to a historic (and now defunct) pine mousetrap factory in the City which once supplied 90% of the nation’s traps! Of course, with Ashland’s theatrical history, many visitors associate the name with Agatha Christie’s famous play (which ran on London’s West End for more than forty years)
New owner, Dean Clark, who purchased the Inn in 2002, has changed the name to honor a favorite song of his (which Ella Fitzgerald covers so wonderfully) and as the first of many changes as Blue Moon Bed and Breakfast takes its place among the many wonderful Inns of Ashland.
