Atley on the Greenway Apartments

When I first moved in Jeff was there he was really nice, and made the move in process very easy. I went on a tour and I liked how nice and clean the community was. They have a great outdoor area that’s great for grilling and watching tv, also they have an outside sink that’s really neat. They also have two great swimming pools, one with a hot tub and the other with a kiddie pool for your kid. I also like how cheap my light bill was being that the apartment are energy efficient. The stainless steel appliances in every apartment is a nice touch as well. PARKING was a major issue. When I tell you before they had assigned parking paces parking was so bad people would park in Giant parking lot and walk home because there was no place to park. I just got a garage so that I would always have a spot to park, I was upset that I had to spend extra money everything just to park my car. One thing I hated as well was when I contacted the leasing office they never got back to me in regards to anything. I am excited that they hired some black people in the office because it was looking as white as snow when I first moved in. If you’re a fan of pets this is the place to be as almost everyone has a dog which I HATE. Now, I have to say the dogs are always on leashes but pet owners don’t do a good job of cleaning up dog poop. The apartments are close by the grocery store which is in walking distance, as well as alot of eating places and walmart is only about 15 mins away. TOWING– do not park in the wrong place because BATTLEFIELD TOWING is HELL, they will tow your car in a heart beat.

It is the apartment community’s responsibility according to VA DOT to clear its own roads. I just looked to be sure. The ONE tiny bobcat for our whole apartment complex is not making even a dent! He’s also not cleared out the snow that’s got the dump truck snowed in, so they don’t have a truck available to move the snow anywhere, so they are dumping it in from of the building entrances, even though residents are trying to keep a path cleared to walk out. This is really the most backwards place I’ve ever seen in my life. We have had to dig our cars out, only to wake up and find the bobcat has dumped so much snow at the entrance of our building we are unable to backup out of our parking spot. This is just another knot in the chain that is Atley Apartments. Truly the most incompetent people I’ve ever seen.
Also, to follow up on my previous post, you would say that you were not able to get info from sherif’s office regarding the SWAT team. BS! There was a resident from OUR BUILDING grabbed, handcuffed and put in a police car and taken away. They had our building surrounded!!! They were in the building across from us watching for the guy! So, I doubt seriously you called. Pardon me for not writing down the exact date and time, because I was to busy getting my kids in my bathtub in the even guns started going off!
INCOMPETENT!!!

My experience with Atley on the Greenway Apartments and the staff have been nothing less than spectacular!
The apartments are new, clean, contain significant upgrades and the amenities are great. The surrounding local area has everything I could need within walking distance. I’ve lived in Ashburn for years but recently moved from a house to an apartment. I had been looking at other townhomes, condominiums, and apartment complexes for a month trying to make a decision on whether to buy or rent. On my initial visit to Atley, I was greeted and all of my questions were answered by their attentive staff. They were very helpful in listening to what I was looking for and offered suggestions on which layout I might consider. They really listened and walked me through the application process as well as all of the steps that I would need to take to accommodate my move.
I encountered multiple personal issues during my short residence at Atley which the staff responded to in a rapid, empathetic manner. My original move in date needed to be moved up by a week. This was stressful for me but the staff made my request seem routine. They quickly completed all of the changes to my lease agreement, made the required maintenance requests for keys and final apartment walk through as well as give me instructions on what other steps I would need to take to move in sooner. When I had a problem logging in to the Atley Portal for rental payments they helped me with that. They understood that I was under a lot of stress and responded quickly.
My friend that was helping me move has a daughter in a wheelchair. It would have been difficult for them to park outside of the gated community as they did not have assigned parking. I requested and received a handicapped temporary parking pass for their vehicle to park inside the gated community. It made it so much easier for our friend’s daughter to be transported back and forth to my apartment.
I’ve seen the reviews of the parking at Atley. I understood when signing my lease that I would have an assigned parking spot which I do. I was grateful for an assigned spot as in some of the places that I had looked there wasn’t ANY assigned parking and it was all first come-​first served. I knew that my hours of entering the gated community would vary. If I wasn’t given an assigned parking spot I might not be guaranteed a space at all near my apartment. In addition, it is not uncommon in apartment parking areas during a snow storm to shovel your car out and find that a neighbor parks there when you move requiring you to shovel another parking spot. My only bad experience was that during the parking lot painting of new parking spaces my assigned space was moved by one space. I had parked early that afternoon and went to sleep. I woke up the next day and couldn’t find my car. I thought perhaps I had taken to much Nyquil cold medicine but realized that my «usual» parking space had been repainted one space over and my car had been towed. When I called the management at Atley they listened to my whining and worked with me on a solution that met both of our needs. Again, they listened to my concerns and responded empathetically. I had the option to rent a garage and declined as I chose not to pay the additional money. That was my decision. Atley has been trying to make more parking inside the complex but they have limitations secondary to the grounds the apartments were built on. They make it very clear in their initial visit and orientation the parking regulations and you also have that in writing on your lease.
My next problem was that my car had to be taken in for repair. I had grabbed my gate fob but had left my apartment key on my key ring. I spoke with the staff at Atley and they helped me get a new key.
Being mechanically disadvantaged, I enjoy the ability to place a work order for the apartment and someone comes in while I’m away and magically fixes whatever I had reported. I’ve even seen the guy who handles all of that mechanical «stuff» clean up around the dumpster on his off time when residents are careless with their trash.
The customer service and attentiveness received by me from Sandy, Shellie, Anna, Mechanical Guy, «J», and the guy who rewrote my lease was greatly appreciated. I cannot thank all of you enough for all that you have done to make a difficult transition for me as easy as possible. I truly appreciate all of the help that you gave to me. I wish that I could remember all of the names but there were too many helpful people in your office! When is the last time that anyone can say that?

I am so happy living here. The staff is excellent, maintenance is great, and — regardless of what these reviews say — the parking is no problem at all. We have an assigned space and a floating space and we’ve never struggled to find parking. The apartments themselves are brand new with great appliances and the community had amazing amenities.

I’ve been here for over a month now and my boyfriend and I love it. It’s our first time renting a place and couldn’t be happier. For parking we don’t have an issue, I have a reserved spot but he has to find an open one. He always finds a spot right outside of our apartment. We definitely lucked out and our unit is located right across from the trash compactor so that saves us a lot of trouble. We honestly love this apartment and are grateful for what we have.

The Atley apartments are a great place to live in Virginia. The atmosphere is very clean and modern, with very nice layouts in the rooms I’ve been in. The apartment complex has a community feel with friendly neighbors but is also quiet when we want to just read by the pool. Management is always open to making the living experience more enjoyable. Highly recommend for young professionals, families, and the elderly.

We’ve been at atley for over a year now. It’s our first place together after we got married. Initially the occupancy was low so parking wasn’t an issue. Eventually with more occupants and multiple cars per apartment, parking became a problem. Hence some of the bad reviews. I know I personally had issues since the assigned spot went to my husband. But honestly, management took the right steps and right away to make additional spots and regulate. They did the best they could. I never have a problem now finding parking.
The amenities are great– the pool, the club house, onsite maintenance staff and the gym! The fitness facility is well equipped and available 24 hours.
The apartments are very modern, I absolutely love it.
I know some of the reviews may be discouraging but it’s worth a shot. We love our time here and are renewing for a second year.

Atley is a nice place if you have only one car. We were happy until the parking situation just went from Bad to the Worst I have ever seen.
The Genius management tried to fix a parking problem and made it 10X worse. Each apartment now has a numbered spot. There are just a handful of visitor spots. So if you have 2 cars, you will not find a parking space ever for the second driver living in your apartment. Guests that come over in the evening will not be able to park at Atley. Yet there are many numbered spots that are not being used.
If you look at the bottom of the listed Unilocal reviews, there are over 30 reviews that are not recommended. Read these reviews and you will get a flavor of the frustration of current residents.
The apartments are nice, the amenities are great. You will get a lot of exercise parking at the shopping center and walking to your apartment each night.

I have only lived here a couple months but so far I am very pleased. I think the thing I was most shocked about was the fabulous snow removal during the past few snows. They were out all night & the roads were practically clear & the hallways were well salted to avoid slipping. Yes, parking can be a problem but they are actively working on it so I will reserve my judgment. I have nothing but good comments on the office staff. Can’t wait for the pool to open and for people to start coming out of their apartments now that the weather is nicer.

Overall, this is a great community. Unlike others, there is not an amenity fee — which is great because the amenities are fabulous. I can’t wait to use the pool and cabana areas during the summer. The interior of the apartments are beautiful and modern. My biggest complaint is rude employees in the office. Every time I’ve had a problem, the employee was just rude. Finally when I was able to speak with a manager, I got my problems resolved. I feel like all employees should have basic customer service and realize that the renters concerns are valid. Instead of getting angry and rude, simply taking note of problems and trying to accommodate is a better option. When I rented my apartment and signed my lease, the staff was incredible. Ever since its just gone down hill. My second complaint is parking. It’s been two months since they initially spoke about fixing the situation. The solution was decals, but not with specified spots. when I spoke with the manager, he informed me they don’t even have enough spaces for the number of apartments, so I’m unsure as to how just decals will work without specific spots. If a garage wasn’t $ 195 per month to add to my lease, I would do so in a heartbeat. The last comment is of security nature. We all pay more in order to live in a gated community. The first 4 months living there the gates were always open. We had various crimes occur within the area, and that wasn’t even a reminder to close the gates. Each time I asked and expressed my concern, I was given a different answer. First — construction still going on. Then it was too cold. Then broken. It was never ending. Hoping the parking situation gets addressed quickly, because parking outside the community and walking around and back in is not safe — and its an issue anytime after 730 or so at night. As I said, overall I love the community and the amenities. There are just a few big problems — which they are working to fix it just seems to be taking a very long time.

Please have someone contact me in regards to the parking situation. In your response here on Unilocal you clearly stated that I could contact management and discuss the parking situation with someone at my discretion this will be the third time that I have contacted management in regards to the parking situation and yet I have still been unable to receive a phone call back from them I have left my contact information as stated in your comment and have still not received a response. It is 10 p.m. on a Tuesday evening and I was forced to park on the complete opposite side of the complex from where my apartment building is as a single female woman I do not feel that is acceptable in any way. Ashburn is a lovely community and Loudon County is a wonderful place to live yet when I come home I feel that I should be able to park within at least two buildings from my apartment not an entire complex away from my home. Heaven forbid that I have groceries, because each time I do I have to pull up in front of my apartment and unload my groceries then take just my cell phone and proceeded to circle around the entire complex trying to find a single parking spot which just so happens to be at the complete opposite side of my apartment building and walk the entire length of the complex to get to my apartment building that is unacceptable. There is clearly not enough parking for the amount of people and vehicles that you have in this complex and yet again no one has done anything to resolve this isssue.
I seriously considered signing a new lease for a larger apartment with the full understanding that your leasing consultants provided me explicit guarantees that the area I would moving to within the complex had plenty of parking. Well wouldn’t you know what that’s where I ended up parking today the complete opposite side of where my current apartment is and there was only one parking spot left. This is just absurd to me I am baffled at the lack of customer service and complete disregard for the care and concern of your tenants. I will be contacting you in the morning and I can only hope that someone answers the phone when I call and I don’t get sent directly to voicemail which happens nearly every time I’ve called your office in the past. — Extremely Disappointed
