We enjoy Happy G’s delivered about once a week and love just about all the menu items. The egg rolls could be better but orange chicken and General Sows Chicken is really good!

Happy G is a little sketch from the outside and the inside leaves quite a bit to be desired, but thankfully the food does not. I’m not sure if Gourmet or Bistro even apply to this place. The menu consists of your standard Chinese items and a handful of Thai/Vietnamese items tossed in for good measure. If you’re not up to one of the standard menu options, you have the option to create your own stir fry from a bar that contains a variety of vegetables. You pick a meat, fill your bowl with other goodies and take it to the cook who fries it all up for you. We did not stray from the menu on our visit and had the following items: Hot & Sour Soup — Standard, a bit strong on the vinegar Broccoli Beef — Tender beef and LOTS of broccoli. The broccoli was cooked so it was still crisp — not mushy — excellent. Surprisingly, there were other veggies in the broccoli beef as well which was a nice surprise. Curry Chicken w/Peanut Sauce — Big chicken pieces with a variety of peppers, carrots, snow peas, and other vegetables. The peanut sauce was great, I’m not sure what made it «Curry» besides maybe a seasoning I couldn’t pick out or maybe some coconut milk in there somewhere. Nonetheless, a tasty dish. Next time, I’d prefer it without the big chunks of squishy tomatoes. Dinner prices are around $ 8-$ 12 per entrée and the entrees are plenty big enough for two! There were a lot of take-out orders which probably explained why the parking lot was fairly empty when we visited.

It is difficult to rate a restaurant after just one visit. I mean you have not actually sampled all the food. With this place I gave it a solid 4 stars but it may be that with a few visits it rates 5 stars. First the ambience is quite nice so it’s not just take out. When I stopped by it was late afternoon so not crowded which I like. Next the food is all the traditional stuff(includes lettuce wraps) and they promptly serve you. I ordered for take out the pu pu platter and chicken lo mein. I missed the lunch plates which are quite typical but must await another visit. Ample portions and the lo mein was quite good. It was tasty and not soggy. They have quite a large selection so I am actually anxious to try other items. The lunch plates are reasonable and again worth while to check out. This seems one of those gems to truly see for yourself over and over again. I have to admit the other reviewers who have praised this place are right on!

THISISONLYFORTHETHAIFOODONTHEMENU For the longest time I was looking for a place near my house where I could find good Thai or Asian food, no luck, then one day I googled delivery Thai and Happy Gourmet came up, at first I was like, this is like any place and it probably just like any delivery place and not very good. The first time I tried the place I called my order in as I wanted to make sure it was correct, I was surprised at how quickly it came to my door and how spot on they were, they didn’t miss a beat. I have now been ordering from them for the past 8 months or so and using online food service and I can give all my details in the extra details boxes for there sites, as that is where one puts there online order for there sites. If they have a question about your order they will call you and ask about it an item or if they can charge your card more then what is stated online, as you maybe you changing or adding extra items to your meal. They are very detail orientated and everything on there menu is great, I have tried pretty much everything and if one lives in the northwest area of Denver, this place is a great place to go if you live in the Northwest area of the city and your looking for Asian or Thai. I live about 5 miles away and they are still willing to deliver to me and there the best Thai food I have found yet that delivers in the Northwest area of Denver. This place I highly recommended only for Thai! I have recently tried the Chinese part of there menu and was highly disappointed, there was about four different items sweet and sour chicken, beef and broccoli, and to other dishes I don’t remember there names. But they all the dishes were old and overcooked, a bit disappointed with that and know to only order Thai from here.

Amazing! Ordered a few lettuce wraps for delivery. I asked for a specific time for delivery, and they arrived a little early! The food was GREAT! I will definitely eat with them again.

I think part of what made this place so outstanding to me was the fact that I expected so little going in. What’s the apostrophe-G all about? The location is just terrible! Anyone who drives this stretch of Ralston/Independence/58th remembers what a bombed out nightmare of a Long John Silver’s this used to be!( used to be one of my favorite websites, mocking the restaurants that move into familiar restaurant buildings). So when Husband wanted to stop there to kill some time real quick before an appointment and have a few appetizers, I thought, well, OK. How bad can it be? The sense of doom got worse when we opened the doors at 7:00 on a Saturday night and not at SOUL was eating. As in, we’re the only diners. That is absolutely never, ever a good sign in my experience. So really, my expectations were extremely low. The menu was pretty interesting, however, and I noticed quite a few creative touches that you just don’t see at your standard Chinese restaurant. I also was amazed how transformed this place really is from it’s lowly beginnings involving deep fried fish. The waitstaff was so friendly and so kind… I started to wonder what the deal with this place really is. We ordered several(very inexpensive!) appetizers and were just blown away by how tasty and fresh everything was; the lettuce wraps were the best I’ve ever had, WAY better than anything that P.F. Chang ever thought of putting forth. The soup was outstanding, hot tea was perfumy and luscious, wontons were crispy and delectable, egg rolls crackly and yummy… and the service was just spot-on. Attentive without being overbearing, and really kind people too. I felt truly badly for all the staff since we again, were the ONLY diners, but they took great care of us, and I really was sad to have to dash out to our appointment instead of staying for a long meal. We plan to come back very soon and try the do-it-yourself stir fry; what a great concept! I love being proven wrong, and am happy to report that I’ll gladly be their only G’ourmet diners, any time.

I love this place and go there every couple of weeks for one of their lunch specials. I’m working my way down the menu and every dish I have had has been very tasty, with my favorites so far, the Lo Mein, Kung Pao anything and the Yu Shen Shrimp and Scallop. Lunch specials range from $ 5.25 — 7.25 and include soup, rice and egg roll. You must try this place next time you’re in Arvada. Plenty of delicious food at great prices and friendly service.

I love this place! I have had good experiences both with delivery and in the restauarant. The food is good and they offer dishes that you may not commonly see. I really like their mango chicken. They’ll modify things to your taste, too. It’s too bad I live outside their delivery zone these days!

Happy G’s changed ownership between 2008 – 2009. The food quality dramatically fallen. It seems everything is bulk bought, nothing fresh. We live in the neighborhood, but have given up on this one. We might try every 6 months just to see if the positive reviews are reflecting significant changes. Bottom line: The food is very poor quality. I dare say, its completely gross. Our bodies feel bad a day or two after ingesting their meals. Drive 3 more minutes to Chopstix Asian Grill and do yourself a favor.

Ate here for the first time recently. Sick happy hour special(5 – 9, $ 1 Coors, $ 1.50 Corona and Tsingtao). Food was very good. Twice cooked pork was a little salty, but the shrimp was well prepared. All in all, I enjoyed it.

Pretty good! Very reasonable prices for lunch specials. Extra charge for brown rice(boo) and I’m spoiled and accustomed to getting a crab cheese wonton in with my lunch, which this was lacking. The staff were very friendly(both the server/cook/owner? and her maybe 12-year-old daughter who took our order and calculated our tab) and we got our food pretty quickly. Egg rolls tasted funny(like old oil) but were big and full. I’d like to go back and see how their Mongolian BBQ/stirfry thingy works.

LOVE this place. The Mandarin chicken is so good. The shrimp fried rice is wonderful. The size of the shrimp they put in this rice make it a meal in its self. The dumplings are great as well. Haven’t had a bad thing here yet.

Fine place to eat! I love the sesame Chicken, and the servers are most thoughtful and helpful. The prices are fine and everything my wife and I have ordered here has been delicious. Another great local restaurant I love to support.

The food is good, the service is quick and the bill is affordable. Happy G’s features their do it yourself stir fry, where you select the ingredients and they fry it up and bring it to your table. But even though I’ve eaten here dozens of times, I’ve never tried it. My favorites are the twice-cooked pork and the Yu Shan shrimp & scallops. We often get the food delivered and they’re always quick.
